  1. KTMrider brought up a good point. I wonder if those of us doing this to an Outback XT nee the 2.5i 4EAT drive shaft out of an Outback instead of out of the Legacy sedan or wagon. If you look at my post #309 the part number for the 2.5i 4EAT OB vs Legacy is different. I guess I will know soon enough as the one I am getting off Ebay is from a 2.5i limited sedan non OB.
  2. Anybody that has done this used the Legacy Clutch hose or do you HAVE to use the STI one?

  4. Found a driveshaft bought it yesterday. I actually already had an older one but it was pretty rusty around the carrier bearing and wasn't sure I wanted to use it. This one is a 2.5i 2006 model with 44,000 in a 4EAT car.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170624413780&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT#ht_1799wt_1167
  5. I cant imagine a couple of inches in suspension height making that much difference, but maybe so.
  6. EDIT Well if you run the numbers they are all different The spec b is a 27111AG07A The 2.5i 4EAT is a 27111AG01A or a 27111AG05A depending on year. The 2.5i 4EAT in the Outback is a 27111AG11A or 27111AG15A So we know so far the 01A and 05A and the 07A spec b shaft will work. If you have an Outback XT wagon Im not sure but you may need the 11A or 15A number. Ill know soon enough as I have a 01A or 05A coming next week. 05A 03, November — SEDAN 2500CC EMPI SOHC NA FULLTIME 4WD 4SP Automatic transmission 25I '03, November — SEDAN 2500CC EMPI SOHC NA FULLTIME 4WD 4SP Automatic transmission 25I LIMITED '08, March — SEDAN 2500CC EMPI SOHC NA FULLTIME 4WD 4SP Automatic transmission 25I BASE '03, November — WAGON 2500CC EMPI SOHC NA FULLTIME 4WD 4SP Automatic transmission 25I '03, November — '07, March WAGON 2500CC EMPI SOHC NA FULLTIME 4WD 4SP Automatic transmission 25I LIMITED 01A '03, November — SEDAN 2500CC EMPI SOHC NA FULLTIME 4WD 4SP Automatic transmission 25I '03, November — SEDAN 2500CC EMPI SOHC NA FULLTIME 4WD 4SP Automatic transmission 25I LIMITED '03, November — WAGON 2500CC EMPI SOHC NA FULLTIME 4WD 4SP Automatic transmission 25I '03, November — '07, March WAGON 2500CC EMPI SOHC NA FULLTIME 4WD 4SP Automatic transmission 25I LIMITED Info found on http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/
  7. Outback has 4.44 gears, LSD at least in the XT. Not sure about the 2.5i Auto though.
  8. I looked at a couple on EBAY and they look the same between Legacy outback and legacy. Not sure though. I did find an 06 2.5i sedan 4 speed auto shaft though with 48,000 miles for 125, buying it now....
  9. Like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-06-07-08-09-LEGACY-REAR-DRIVE-SHAFT-/110612656787?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19c1073293#ht_2501wt_988 2-5 of them on EBAY if you search 06 subaru legacy driveshaft
  10. If you are putting a 6 speed in a wagon does the shaft have to be wagon specific or does either a sedan or wagon 2005 2.5i 4EAT shaft work?
  11. Plug for clutch fork on 08 and Up is: 11021AA010 http://opposedforces.com/parts/impreza/us_g12/type_19/manual_transmission/clutch/
  12. NSFW did you purchase and use the downpipe bracket 44021FE030 listed in your first post?
  13. Search function works great, everything you asked is probably on this forum.... For Ex. I searched sti swap 2000 legacy: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/sti-ej257-into-00-lgt-limited-127283.html?t=127283&highlight=sti+swap+2000 With that said and to answer what is pertinent to this thread I do not believe you can put the 5x114 hubs on a legacy. It has been discussed in this thread as well as other 6 speed threads. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/nsfws-6mt-swap-thread-143520.html
  14. Guys I verified this week that the only part that is different from the STI 6 speed shifter is the 35031AG020 Stay CP. Here is a picture to prove this point. In this picture I am comparing a brand new from STI SPEC B STS shifter with a modified 04-07?? STI shifter. http://inlinethumb37.webshots.com/50916/2410317020074087040S600x600Q85.jpg The gold colored Stay CP in the pictures that is lengthened (with a smaller diameter piece inserted) is the STI version of the SPEC B 35031AG020 Stay CP. So if you are using a STI shifter you could order just the STAY CP 35031AG020 and not have to lengthen your STI stay CP. As you can tell the STI SPEC B shifter (silver) is already longer and matches the lengthened stock STI shifters Stay CP. Also Unclemat had noted in a previous thread/post that you need to order the 35041AG020 ROD CP to get the gold colored joint piece in this picture because the 5 speed piece is different. You need this so the shifter is centered in the hole correctly. So I ordered the 35041AG020 ROD CP and checked it against the joint part that was already on my 08 6 speed transmission and they are identical. So if your 6 speed comes with the gold joint piece shown in this pic you should be good to go. If you do not have this piece order 35041AG020 ROD CP and you will get the Rod and the joint piece. If you have the gold colored joint piece in the below pic there is no need to order the 35041AG020 ROD CP as the rod portion is the same. http://inlinethumb57.webshots.com/51960/2754042120074087040S600x600Q85.jpg
  15. RAO I am glad you are on this forum, I LOL many times reading your posts and laughter is the best medicine...
  16. Quote of the day.....I knew you would be back , any pictures of the car?
  17. Add me to the list, of misfires and changed injectors over the last few months which seemed to help and even car ran pretty good until Friday..... Motor is toast, only 30 psi in cylinder 4, pretty sure it is a valve issue. I guess I should feel lucky, 158,000 miles. My subaru buddies keep telling me that if you don't crack the ringland then the number 4 exhaust valve is the other problem Also why we were at it we checked number 2 since its on the same side and it was at 120 psi which is low. So car is being trailered to Cobb plano for them to put the new short block and rebuild the heads. I firmly believe the problems with number 4 are due to fuel starvation, and number 4 leaning out causing detention and heat from the lean condition. They told me (great mechanic friends of mine at local dealer) they see this all the time. 1. Burnt exhaust valve in turbo cars #4 2. Head gaskets in N/A 2.5 cars ( you should see the head gasket they are using on the non turbo's now. Its a JOKE) 3. Failed ring land on number 4 turbo cars.
  18. search my user name in this thread I had installed a radio shack antenna and I think I told how I did it.
  19. Nah I have the 6 speed STI group N mount from infamous. I just need to verify the cross member Thanks though
  20. Been wondering about the cross member and I posted this in a couple of the swap threads. I know the transmission mount is different between 5 speed and 6 speed but I now believe the Cross Member is the same.... This seems to suggest its the same whether 5 speed Legacy or 6 speed Spec B other than obviously the rubber mount 5 speed http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b13/type_5/engine/engine_mounting/illustration_2/ 6 speed http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b13/type_12/engine/engine_mounting/illustration_2/
