  1. Looking over my friend's Untapp'd check-ins, he either went down to Great notion or tavour'd some to his house, he rated: Mandala a 4.25, which is a New England style IPA. I'd start there. Skywatchers is an Imperial double IPA that he rated a 4.00. I'd get a taster of that to see how you like it.
  2. Any new good beers/ collabs out? I've been looking for Tropic fog from Abomination but no luck so far, I heard it's really damn good. Had the new Skies of Wonder from Ft George, it was great, looking forward to their new Fields of Green which should be out soon. Edit Found Tropic Fog, also picked up Kitty has Claws from Revision and some others.
  3. The NW, especially the Seattle area's market has not slowed down since the great recession ended, not even during the Pandemic. So you'd most likely make a good profit when you chose to sell any investment properties you owned. That being said it does come with financial risk, it's these property management companies that make out like bandits (sort of). They get to charge absurd fees while holding little to no risk at all because they are not owners, just managers. That being said you need to have at least 10 properties you manage to make a living and even then you're probable looking at making around 40k a year. So it's really not that lucrative unless you manage twice the number of properties. That being said I'm basing that off data from 2019, I wonder what the numbers are going to look like for 2020 when they come in because the rental market was a bright spot during the Pandemic, everyone wanted an airbnb not a hotel. I expect those number to see a significant increase.
  4. After HOA, tax and insurance, plus their 50% take, you're probably keeping about 10-15% of each rental. That kind of ROI isn't enough to entice most people i would guess anyway.
  5. Looked at purchasing a 1 bdrm condo at the beach, it was small, updated. Right on the beach, price was not great. But still decent. Then I found out the vacation rental company on-site takes half the profit, I don't believe that included the HOA fees either Hard pass on that one
  6. I've been getting the usual insurance and financial planning companies inquiring, nothing in my normal lane yet though.
  7. Its annoying when companies list jobs yet don't say what it is that you'll be doing. Vague job descriptions suck. It's even worse when they have a generic website that tells you nothing about who they are or what they do.
  8. i picked up my 2010 LGT in 2015, kept it ever since. If any member is interested in a 2015 White LGT, please feel free to hit me up.
  9. Had this double imperial Red Ale called Graveyards of the Pacific from North Jetty Brewing Company- 10.4% It just might be the smoothest Red Ale I've ever had. I like their Ledbetter scotch Ale alot. Had one in 2018, but this one is even better.
  10. Ellie had her first big snow, she didn't know what to make of it at first, but she was enjoying soon enough.
  11. Heading to the beach for the weekend, finally getting a change of scenery. Might go down to Astoria for Valentines if anything is open. If not there is a brew pub around the corner that fills growlers and has good takeout where I'm staying (in WA). I will stop buy Ft George and Buoy if I do, maybe Rogue too.
  12. Had the Toppling Goliath Pseudo Sue, pretty darn good beer. The Adroit Theory triple IPA was also very good.
  13. Ikea my be cheap, but swiss army knives are badass. Also, Swedish Meatballs are delicious.
  14. Don't buy a house or car from a cheapass, it's rare that either would be properly maintained or even somewhat maintained for that matter.. You'll end up paying for all the crap they didn't fix that's accumulated over the years.
  15. At least it's better than January, I'll give February that much. It's slightly less depressing and slightly less antisocial than January too.
  16. just a quick long weekend trip for my wife’s Bday, it’s a start anyway, we’re looking at other places for Summer.
  17. The Grains of Wrath Dive Bar Lager was really good. I like how they didn’t try to reinvent the wheel, instead they just made a darn fine classic tasting Lager
  18. Bundle up, we really don’t get a fourth season here. Our seasons are rain, pollen, some sun and more rain
  19. February isn’t much better. We get possibly the lamest holiday of the year, Valentine’s Day, at least I’m going on a beach trip that weekend.
  20. Good brewery, had 3 of their beers so far and liked them all
  21. A HS friend of mine's dad just passed away from Covid, I don't know any of the details though and likely won't ask.
  22. Looking forward to trying Tang by trapdoor, also picked up the new Revision and a sixer of the regular Buoy IPA
