  1. I think he was serious. Your post added to the discussion.
  2. If you're going to be welding on pipe anyways, why not fab the whole thing? Mufflers + Tubing has got to be cheaper. The way I see it a big part of what you'd be paying for in a pre made exhaust is that you dont have to make it. That said, I love the sound of my buddie's 09 WRX with SPT cat back, I'd like to hear it on one of our cars.
  3. The 2008 WRX cat back is not a direct fit. I remember someone posting about having to extend the flange.
  4. Do you have one of those? I'm a little unclear what else I would need to get to get it to work with my Garmin or AP or whatever
  5. This question has been answered. They do not fit, everything is just different enough to not work. Most importantly, they use a different MAF.. a round peg into a square hole type situation. Also, our cars will not benefit from an intake until you upgrade the turbo, and maybe not even then.
  6. So to clarify/confirm, if I found a similar product from a different manufacturer that was listed to fit the 08 WRX, it would fit my car? (for rear subframe and rear diff)
  7. I don't know what that means but it sounds awesome...!?!?!?!?!?
  8. This one is half the cost of the whiteline one: [ame=http://smile.amazon.com/Scion-Frs-Subaru-BRZ-08-12/dp/B00D5VXRWO/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1452486288&sr=8-2-fkmr0&keywords=spc+lower+control+arm+brz]Amazon.com: Scion Frs, Subaru BRZ and 08-12 Subaru WRX: Automotive[/ame] don't forget that the BRZ has the same rear lca's as out cars
  9. The fourth gear pull was only to 5Kish, we were just on an empty on ramp that was extra long because it's right at the intersection of two freeways. Does that make any sense? Basically it's almost a mile of straight two lane freeway on ramp that had no one on it. I was most happy about the 50 to 80 pulls we did in fifth and sixth since I can see myself doing those more often.
  10. The one I found on the IM would be insulated by the rubber hose on the plastic manifold so I'd think it would be ok. In fact it seems like for most of them the rubber would melt before the plastic zip tie.
  11. So I just got back from the tuner and the over boost is gone. With this revision the highest I was able to coax out was 18.4, but I was consistently hitting 17.8ish which makes me very happy. Essentially, he had upped the WGDC to try to get rid of the boost dip we were seeing on the dyno, but there was no dip on the street. So now I have no dip and I'm hitting target boost crazy fast. I really liked doing runs on the street like that because we got to do 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear pulls all the way to red line, as well as some pulls in 5th and 6th like I might do to pass or merge on the freeway. I gotta say the torque rush is just amazing now.
  12. I wonder that too. I'm heading back to my tuner today to see what he thinks. Mine didn't over boost on the dyno, so I kinda wonder if we will have any trouble reproducing it. I am also still not clear on why mine had the boost dip on the dyno. Hopefully I'll have more info later today...
  13. AND WE HAVE A WINNER! Yessir, a small pinky sized hose had come off so I put it all back together and now it runs fine... except for the overboost that I'm getting again now. I hit 23ish psi twice and took logs. I'm emailing them to my tuner and crossing my fingers. Thanks for all the help BTW! Y'all are great EDIT: In response to some of the discussion above: I am on stock mid pipe and cans and currently am over boosting too.
  14. OK here is the latest: I rechecked every connection between the MAF and the throttle body that I could find. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the tmic because I don't trust that coupler. I also cleaned the MAF while I was there. I also checked all the line to/from the EBCS and BPV and made sure they were plumbed correctly. No dice. Everything seems like it is hooked up very securely. At this point I doubt that there is a boost leak unless something like the BPV or TMIC has failed spectacularly. Next I reset the ECU and logged with the added parameters. I did a short run down the street and back and did not get the cel, but the car was running like there's a leak. In neutral at idle it seemed to stumble and catch itself. What do I check next? My tuner did email me back and told me to check all that stuff and take logs, so I'll be emailing him all this presently. datalog1_run3.csv
  15. I'll do that after dinner. I think Boost Error is the only one I'll need to add. I do have the Perrin throttle body coupler, I'll check all that one more time too. It does remind me of when my TBC failed, but it seemed fine when I checked it
  16. Here's the latest log. I got the christmas tree of death this time with a P0171 code. I checked all the connections on the hoses to/from the EBCS and all the connections on the intake including the throttle body hose. Nothing seemed loose. I'm calling my tuner right now datalog1.csv
  17. Thank you! I'm not necessarily worried about the dip, I just hadn't seen it on here before. Also, I have the GFB BPV and Grimmspeed EBCS... Go figure.
  18. I just tried to log and have some interesting results. On my way to the on ramp it over boosted in third gear to 23.7 psi (I wasn't logging at the time). This was at maybe 3/4 throttle and 3k rpm. I tried to log boost right after that and it wouldn't go above 13ish. I have two logs right now and I think I'll grab another a little bit later today. datalog2.csv datalog3.csv
  19. I'll get one and post it today. All told I'm not unhappy, just perplexed. 380 wtq is about 50 more that I thought I'd get... and the tune feels way better that the cobb ots map.
  20. He said that he tried adjusting the cam timing to compensate but was only able to move the dip to the left or right. He said that even increasing the WGDC in the dip didn't seem to change it, and that it might be some sort of mechanical issue. I'm pretty confused about that... all the recent threads seemed to indicate that over boosting would be my issue.
  21. http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=2423&pictureid=11080 http://legacygt.com/forums/picture.php?albumid=2423&pictureid=11079 So I got my car tuned today and these are the results. What are your thoughts? I haven't seen that dip on other people's graphs... what could be the cause? My mods are: Nameless DP RacerX TMIC GFB BPV Grimmspeed EBCS Unrelated suspension stuff I used Xact Dyno in Tempe, he was recommended to me by Forced Air Tech.
