  1. There isn’t a single person on this forum that’s going to disagree with what he said. You may not have liked what he said but it’s absolutely true. If there’s anyone on this forum that knows what it’s like to do weeks of research and go through the trial error to figure out something that’s never been done before and successfully pull it off, it’s m sprank. With that said, he knows what that type of labor and dedication is worth and as he stated nobody is going to give that information out for free. with all that out of the way, I’ve never heard of anyone pulling off or even attempting to pull of what you’re trying to do. I’ve personally never understood si drive. Why would anyone want to intentionally detune their car and make it feel lazy and unresponsive, especially a car that’s not even all that powerful to begin with? If it were me, I’d abandon si drive.
  2. I’m looking for a set of 4 oem side feed legacy gt or outback xt sidefeed injectors. Let me know what you got!
  3. Send em my way lol. I used to have a massive collection of blown amps from when I ran the stereo shop. Like literally 40 or 50 of them. Over the years they have mostly disappeared somehow. Either my wife started secretly throwing them away or friends have “borrowed” them only to find they needed repaired.
  4. Will do. Engine bay is filthy and wasn’t painted when I did the car in aspen white. I will be stripping it down and masking it off to match and as good as the car looks in the weeds I’m going to lift it back up a bit so I can get new wheel liners put back in it. It’s definitely going to be a process lol
  5. I keep jumping back and forth between just keeping it stage 2 and enjoying it or going IAG and something like a dom 1.5xtr with tgv deletes and all that. There are a few factors, one being e85 not being common around me and the other being tuning. I still have Accesstuner race and the car currently isn’t participating in 0420. I have some tuning experience but not enough that I’d be confident throwing the beans at it without the safety net of e85 and with everything going on it seems like a challenge finding someone willing to tune a not so green car. I also have a tactrix and I’m not against switching to open source (which I’ve actually grown to prefer over Accesstuner. I may have to pony up and switch to a more compliant setup and see what happens.
  6. Yeah I’m glad to have it back even if it is just sitting lol. I’m having a hard time deciding exactly what I want to do with it which is fine since I need some funds to accumulate. Another thing that’s on my mind is if I’ll be able to find a tuner that’d be willing to take on the setup I have in mind
  7. Now to do the leakdown , I’m guessing cracked ringland. Then the real decision comes, build a motor myself, buy an IAG 550 sb, or do the right thing and just do a stock sb.
  8. Second on shralp, I’m about to buy a set of whiteline control arms. Would gladly buy yours if you reconsider the shipping…….
  9. I’ll say this till the day I die: the only good European car is one that’s still under warranty.
  10. Pay off that mortgage! I’m about 2-3yrs away then I’ll buy something cool. My current list of cars are the Sti, my outback and my wife’s 09 Malibu. The outback and the Malibu together have over 450,000 miles. Once the house is payed off my wife will get something nice then it will be my turn
  11. New headlights are fairly affordable at around $200.
  12. I said id never ever own an Audi till I saw the rs6 wagon in person. I could definitely see myself in something like that, enough that I even brought it up to my wife! But not having a 6speed is also a deal breaker for me. D*ckheads was my experience with both Porsche and Mercedes. I at one point had it in my head that I needed a viper and went and test drove a privately owned 96. After being far less impressed than I was expecting to be and since I was in Colorado I decided to swing by the Porsche dealership since that was at the time on my bucket list. I pulled up in my gas getting mercury mistake and they treated me like a piece of trash that drifted into their parking lot. About 10min of realizing it wasn’t going to get better I decided to take the cash I had in my pocket that I was going to use on that viper right back home.
  13. I’m currently caught in a dilemma. Now that I have the Sti back it’s glaring how dated the car is. When I got it a stage 2 Sti was considered a fast car on the streets but by today’s standards is pretty average. I’m considering a build path that’s going to net some good numbers but at the cost of big $$$ but at the end of the day still won’t be considered fast by today’s standards. Part of me just wants to refresh it back to stock and buy a corvette or something.
  14. Subarus actually have some of the easier racks to replace as far as vehicles go. It won’t need to be bled, just when you have the front wheels off the ground grab a wheel (engine off) and manually turn it left and right over and over and it will pull fluid. Once the level stops dropping start it up and get it aligned. You don’t need any special tools to do a timing belt, but if you aren’t comfortable with it I’d recommend paying someone to do that. I’ll never forget my first timing belt replacement on my non interference vw that had a belt break. I was 16 and it took me 3 days. Now I have done literally hundreds and can do them in my sleep but I will say they are extremely easy to do on our motors. The spark plugs are also over exaggerated as far as difficulty is concerned. Get yourself a good universal and a set of different sized extensions and it’s really not bad.
  15. None of the things listed are what I would consider difficult jobs or need anything more special than the tools you’re going to be using to do those cv boots or that wheel bearing. I can however understand just not wanting to do the work and paying someone else.
  16. Man I feel left out, these were basically the standards for my build but this one has less power lol. Goal was to get 200,000mi out of the new setup with reliability over additional power. I’m sitting right at 100,000mi right now and I’m running 18-20psi out of a 16g. Haven’t had any motor problems yet.
  17. I ended up getting WVE 1S7967 off rock auto and it illuminates and functions as oem. Now to see how it holds up!
  18. Just ask your tuner to hook you up with a stock tune scaled to your injectors and stay out of boost for emission testing. Does your downpipe not have a cat? Does Colorado no longer allow aftermarket downpipes even with cats?
  19. Still no tune? Wonder what the learning view looks like
  20. Then I won’t tell you about the turbo manifolds, intake manifolds, ecu’s (a few were nistune), injectors, plenums, heads, wiring harnesses, ac compressors, distributors and etc that took a trailer to get rid of. I may have had a z car obsession there for a good while.
