Since my truck crapped out I have been driving the legacy all week. Besides it being the worst vehicle in the world for construction it has been awesome. Drove perfect all week. Not a glitch to be found and Awesome to drive. Strangely enough I love the short gearing. Reminds me of a mk1 gti with the close ratio trans. Just fun to drive. Nothing more nothing less

Go figure. Today on my way home my truck started making a huge racket from the rear diff. I just rebuilt it a while ago, but I'm thinking towing an 8k lb trailer To idaho might have been a bit rough on it. I'm tearing it down this weekend to see what's up. This may be the end for the truck though. 330k miles and 2wd here in idaho may just not be worth fixing it.

^^^Nope, actually we just found out Friday that my wife got hired full time again. Also, found out that I am getting a big promotion as well. Things are all better in Brendan land. Just pulled my car from the classifieds. Not for sale any more.
Stu, can't wait to see the new house.

I had this bad feeling way back when you said she got a job in Idaho. Sorry to hear man.
The problem isn't so much the idaho thing. It's that she is a teacher. They decided to remove her position from the district. If she gets another position elsewhere I may be able to make it work though.

Yeah it sucks but I gotta get rid of it. My wife lost her job and if I can get a decent number for the car it would help a lot.

I finally took my car out of the garage and used it some today. Another 100 miles on the new setup. Everything worked great. Fast as hell and working perfect.

My youngest starts Wed. Our last little one. Kinda sad seeing her go to school. Time flies for sure.

I've been super happy with it. No heat issues at all after install.

The Fozz will be up for sale soon. I picked up its replacement last evening.
My buddy picked one up last month....now we are off-road twinsies. This link will give you a glimpse of the direction I am heading with my new rig.

I've had one of those before. They are awesome. Take a ton of abuse too.

I just finished watching an older episode of Wheeler dealers. They restored an 82 alfasud. Quite an interesting watch. It has a boxer engine. Neat to see a different take on a boxer. Many features different than the subie or vw take on a boxer. Worth a watch if you get a chance.

Finally pulled the car out and took it to work today. I've been using my truck at work everyday so I just haven't had a chance. Felt great to drive it for a whole day. Ran awesome too. No problems at all.

I can't think of any more breakthroughs other than a 3.6 turbo swap and I know I can't afford that.

Glad to help S2. Gotta say it was great to hear it run and to see two 2010's both in such close proximity. We will, have it going in no time.

Man both of those look great. Wish my car looked that good.

Today is the fourth anniversary owning the GT. Of course I've only been driving it half that time because racecar, but a big day anyway.

Im glad someone else was able to put this mod to good use. In the desert driving you are doing it will be a great improvement.

Selling my 4thgen wagon Saturday. Freeing up some funds for when I get the GT diagnosed.
My fave car show is West Coast Subaru Show near Seattle, this year it's July 7th. Deadline will be to have it running by then. Fingers crossed.
I'm up for diagnosis whenever that beauty is ready.

Welcome to the forum. Anything on the fifth gen can be answered here. This is a unique bunch for sure, but I am sure you will enjoy it. If you want to be enabled this is the place for sure.

Finally received the California title for my car. It is officially paid off and now registered in Idaho. It has been 15 months give or take since I have actually driven it on the road(other than around the block). Time for some fun.

Has anyone had their center support bearing go or the bushing wear out? I have been having a bit of a thunk and thud feeling sometimes under hard acceleration from a stop, I thought at first maybe the rear diff supports may be worn or had come loose since I did the inserts. But when I did my brakes I checked it all out and couldn't find anything loose, but the center support bearing feels like it has a lot of movement inside the rubber bushing. Is there an upgraded part for this?
I maybe do the trans mount as well when I have the time and money set aside, heck maybe all the mounts...any ideas?
When I had my driveshaft made for the transmission swap they were able to get that part from their supplier. They ended up using a typical u joint though instead of the funky setup we have stock as it was a much stronger setup. I am sure you could take yours to a driveshaft shop to have it replaced. Mine had a ton of play when I took it apart as well. Here is a pic of teh two side by side.
