  1. So then is anyone from nameless going to address the elephant in the room in that these pipes were sold on the false promise of curing any and all over boost issues? Which we have all known for some time but has now been "officially" proven.
  2. FWIW, I do remember over boosting a few times when I was only running an N1 catback, a GFB BPV and a OTS Cobb Stage 1 Tune with the stock DP. If I remember the stocker leaks about 10 psi and the boost target on the stock tune is around 12 or 14. On the other side it seems that without any sort of mechanical boost control the turbo will boost to around 22 psi. That can't be a coincidence. Also, Possibly a dumb question but could a softer wastegate spring alleviate some of the over boost?
  3. So from what I gathered it seems like the over-boost issue isn't necessarily caused by the nameless down pipe but rather the design of the turbo/wastegate itself. From the factory you'd never notice it with the stock pipes, the leaky BPV, and the stock tune, but the more of those things you take away the more apparent the issue starts to become. This shouldn't be news to anyone who kept up with jackals thread. Seems Nameless wants to dance around in circles about the problem we all have by trying to get us to figure out why our cars are over boosting. When in reality this has been a known issue for a while which is why they made these down pipes in the first place. Bottom line nameless made a product with a specific advertised purpose and said product did not deliver what was advertised. Hopefully Nameless will chime in again sooner than Jan. 2018
  4. Brendan you're truly a hero for boldly going where no 5th genner has gone before
  5. Yeah in fact I remember when that was posted, if you follow the conversation you can see I told Joe I wasn't having any issues then he said "No issues and not over and not over boosting?" To that I replied that I was indeed overboosting
  6. That's not at all what I said So here is the whole story. The first tune was done in November of last year shortly after the pipes were shipped out which cost me 500$ which is fine. It was boosting to about 24 psi and throwing the MAP sensor CEL so of course I went back to Moore and let them know. They said I'd need a 3-port EBCS and a retune which cost about 350$ not as fine but what choice did I have at this point? After that still exactly the same and boosting around 24psi throwing CEL. So after two failed tunes at Moore I wasn't exactly too keen on going back and paying them more money for another retune or whatever, especially after paying you all 750$ for the downpipe and the rest I paid Moore for the first tunes. So now broke and out of options I figured since it was Winter I would just go easy on the car and deal with it in the spring. When Spring rolled around I contacted TA. After Mike advised me to just swap the downpipe I got my hands on a catless TurboXS downpipe which I've been running for a few months now and over boost has not been an issue at all. All that being said are you guys really surprised that people are nervous to try installing this on their cars? And now in order to get the pipe to work we have to modify our turbos? Nobody has over 1000$ in their pocket to do your R&D for you.

I imagine he can probably provide more of the useful information The car was also tuned by a local shop in my area called Moore Automotive (who installed everything correctly) first before I went to TA, but would overboost in 4th gear which is why I consulted TA in the first place. I imagine they would also have some logs or information on the install/tune of the downpipe. Heres their website and phone number http://www.mooreautomotive.com/ (703) 352-3535 FWIW I'm providing this info to help you guys find a solution for the others who haven't installed this. Personally I won't be putting the downpipe back on my car. I would however like some sort of refund even if it is a partial one, I'm willing to make a compromise. The fact that you all say "Just wait for us to do the testing" any time someone even mentions the word refund puts a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not really concerned about what your testing will show, but MY testing shows a product that didn't work as advertised. I can't speak for everyone and I mean no offense to nameless or any of the employees who work there but I'm no longer interested in running nameless parts on my car.
  8. I hate to say this but I feel like the time for courtesy is over. Maybe I'm wrong but it's become pretty clear that sitting and waiting for them to do something for us is useless. I don't know about you guys, but I'm gonna keep sending them emails and start calling them until they do something. They made over 10,000 dollars off of us and they cant even be bothered to respond to our emails? We shouldn't be politely sitting around waiting for them to act, that time has long since passed. We need to not let them forget about this. Is there even a point to me writing this rant? Is this gonna accomplish anything and give anyone some kind of resolution? Probably not.
  9. You're right and any self respecting custom exhaust shop would stand by their work and remedy the situation if the product they fabricated for you didn't function as intended or advertised. A good business wouldn't jerk customers around for more than a year with half baked solutions and empty promises.
  10. One complaint there, plus all the people on here with complaints. There may only be one person who bothered to post on that website but I'm almost certain that person isn't the only one to experience something like this. Even still that one complaint speaks volumes about how these guys conduct their business
  11. I'll just leave this here. http://www.bbb.org/western-washington/business-reviews/auto-parts-and-supplies-wholesale-and-manufacturers/nameless-performance-in-woodland-wa-22825396/Complaints#breakdown Looks like this is not the first time they've screwed their customers over.
  12. So its finally November, I'm not a gambling man but I'd put my money on them coming up with some other BS excuse to not have to deal with this.
  13. Well I'm glad they are using all the money we gave them to make their rally and drift cars better and all that. I would also buy the whole them being way too busy thing but its been more than an entire year. If they hadn't tried to sweep us under the rug when this whole thing started maybe it would have already been resolved. The way I see it they should be more worried about maintaining their reputation as a company and less worried about racing, but what do I know?
  14. Thanks for contacting them Joe. Your message was written very eloquently and I think it pretty much sums everything up that we've been dealing with. Lets hope they start testing soon, and actually come up with some good results. I'm really worried they might do their "testing" and come back telling us there is no issue or something like that and we're SOL.
  15. Not trying to but into this argument or give anyone life lessons in morals. But from my experience you've gotta give people respect if you expect them reciprocate that respect. And I gotta say nameless hasn't been very respectful at all throughout this whole fiasco, quite the opposite actually.
  16. Yeah I gotta agree with this. I think they're making this way more complicated than it needs to be because they are trying to buy time so they can save face and save money. The downpipe does look nice and all but idk about you guys, I cant afford to have a 700$ car part sitting in my garage to just look at.
  17. I get that they're a busy shop but we are their customers just as much as anyone else and the fact we keep getting shoved aside really sucks.
  18. I totally agree. I hate to just stoke the flames but its been about a year now since we started receiving these pipes, and the fact that nameless hasn't made this a bigger priority and keeps putting us on the back-burner is honestly really insulting and annoying. I'm definitely over nameless and their products. They need to stop pussy footing around and just offer refunds to the people who want them already.
  19. FWIW My turboxs DP is boost creeping a bit as well, still getting the tune dialed in some maps it does and some it doesn't. The difference I've noticed is that its much more controllable. Like Haruachi said with the nameless anything more than 1/4 throttle and it shot to 20+ psi. Thinking about looking into getting the wastegate ported as well, if anyone knows a good shop in the northern VA area that will do it let me know. I haven't found any shops that are willing.
  20. You mentioned the clutch damper delete in both places, Where is the second damper I know about the one by the clutch pedal but where is the other one?
  21. That's great news. I skimmed through the thread and might've missed it but do they already have a revised DP for the test? I was thinking that they should use one that is confirmed to overboost rather than use a fresh one, It would suck to go through all this and have the issue not come up during their tests. If nobody else has, I can volunteer to send mine since its not on the car and its confirmed to overboost.
  22. So is that the end of the road? I've been holding off on contacting them hoping there was gonna be some resolution. We put so much money in their pockets and most of us just have expensive paperweights sitting in our garages, not to mention we're never gonna be able to resell them since anyone on the forums who has read this wouldn't touch this DP with a ten foot pole. Are we completely boned or is there anything else we could try to do to sort this out?
  23. Ill try to snap some pics from the engine bay if I get a chance probably not gonna be able to get a pic underneath, no boost creep that I've seen so far but we'll see what happens
