  1. This one time when I was 10 or 11, I was standing in front of my brothers old 1986 Ford Ranger - thing ran bad. I was waiting for him to get back, so I figured it would be a good idea to stand in the exhaust stream to keep warm (it was like -10). I looked down 30 seconds later, my whole pants were covered in soot! Ruined them. Dammit.
  2. So thats what it's called? Man, it's sweeeeeet. I love the fumes. After I shut the car off, I hop out fast to get a great whiff or 3 before they disapate.
  3. If you really have NO tools, just buy a cheapy (if this is all you will ever do) set. $10 maybe. If you want properly priced, LIFETIME warranty, very nice tools - go craftsman. That's what I use for my heavy duty use stuff, and like them alot.
  4. *****^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^***** bling bling yo! 700th post! EDIT! OMG 666 POST FOR ME!!!!!! APOCOLYPSE NOW!!!!!!! SAVE ME HEORES!!!
  5. 3000/yr, yup. not much. as for install? look at the pics/movies - and make it look like that. easy. 4 bolts man.
  6. I think it's a mental thing - the sound doesn't change. Maybe they get tired of it? It's louder than a normal catback (well Stage 2 is), so if you drive lots of highway miles, it could be fatiguing. I put about 3,000/yr on - so I enjoy every minute of it.
  7. Sure - alot of people are doing this - they call it "stage 1.5" or stage 0.5. Some people even go as far as 0.25 - 1 washer on 1 bolt, or any feasible combination thereof. Play around till it works! I'm still at Stage II - as soon as I fix my boost leak, that is....
  8. OOOh OOOh! Could you please please post a soundclip of it on 2.5i? If you do I'll put it in the 1st post for reference...
  9. elect me and I shall smite all current mods, and give the power back to the people! Down with oppresive regimes!!!

  11. 1 will be 5 times louder than no silencer, 2 will be 10 times louder. The silencer really only changes tones, not volume. The hogwashers will make it MUCH louder.
  12. Said mechanic should have the washers there already. Just tell him what you wanna do. He'll laugh, then be impressed.
  13. Well, compare the cost of 1 nut vs 2 washers...it's more of a lateral movement.... I know it's tough to spend that extra $1.09 - I'm not bazillionaire either. I can hardly afford to do my R+D.
  14. I LOVE the smell of my catless hogged car first thing in the morning when it's cold, and pumping out all that unburnt fuel!! There is just nothing better to wake up to - it smells like heaven.
  15. never said "I" dropped them - only the other clumsy fools on this site. What you think I'm so uncoordinated I'd do something like put a hole in my uppipe? your nuts . . . . ...even though it IS cool shooting a washer out the exhaust pipe and watching it fly for 30 feet.... . . . . ...not that I'd know...
  16. I will soon release a Hogzaust V2 - this time, instead of washers that fall into the exhaust pipes, I used a thin nut and threaded it onto the bolt, tightened down, put the other flange on top, and tighten it down - and viola - you have your spacers, and no washers to fall out!
  17. add 4 more in, so it's 2 all around - I found my idle actually quieted down a bit with more. Odd flow dynammics, i'm sure...
  18. Na - it'll be a failure like most of my other threads...i think the majority of people that have done it has posted, because they are so surprised it sounds so good. I bet there arent many who have done it, and not commented one way or another.
  19. It IS easy to change. I mean, don't even have to jack your car up. 2 14mm wrench/ratchets, and your set. hmmmm....should I get a license plate that says "HOGGED" that be awesome. or really gay. I can't decide.
  20. sweet banner, i musta missed it somehow... I still like: http://legacygt.com/forums/image.php?u=6493&dateline=1149463737&type=profile
