  1. I do, good to hear that I need them because I haven’t used them yet.
  2. I can take some better pics tomorrow. Also no bumper melt.
  3. Installed the Liberal under panel. It uses the same 4 clips along the bottom edge of the bumper and then 3M on the trailing edge. Of course now I need to polish my Prodrive mufflers. I also got some of the Grimmspeed exhaust hangers with 1.5” and 2” drop to see if I can better center the tips in the cutouts.
  4. Picked up my Liberal under panel from PDX Wraps and they did a better job than what I expected. Now I need to wash my car so I can stick it on!
  5. They could use a polish. My non washer JDM headlights are in better condition.
  6. Dropped off my USDM door cards parts at the paint shop to be paint matched to the JDM grey to match my dash trim. The guy kept asking for the VIN of the car that they came from to get the paint code and I kept explaining to him that MY VIN wasn’t going to help and there was no way I was going to be able to get the VIN of the card that my JDM door cards came from. Sounds like early to mid next week.
  7. Went for a drive out to Cannon Beach and then south to Tillamook for some cheese and lunch.
  8. My Syms FER (front end reinforcement, aka lightweight front beam) came today from Japan. http://www.syms.jp/shop/g_images/FER-l.jpg
  9. I have JDM door cards that have matching trim but of course I have to swap the portion of the door cards with the switches from USDM door cards for the front to get the drivers side switches on the left side. I attempted to paint match them but I’m not happy with the results so I’ve been looking for a paint shop to match the grey. The dead pedal just matches the pedals that I swapped in. I honestly don’t notice any difference.
  10. Thanks, I like that the EDM center console seems to have a theme going with the circles whereas USDM is all about fitting a Big Gulp size beverage. The driver’s seat is high relative to the Recaro’s in my bugeye, but I’m fairly sure it’s the mounting brackets being low mount. I only notice when I get out of one and into the other, otherwise the seating position doesn’t bother me a but. The seats are way more comfortable and much more supportive than OEM. Part of the issue with the OEM Outback seats is that the leather is slippery and the Alcantara doesn’t have that problem.
  11. I need to do my 500 mile oil change. It seems like the level is on the high side right now. Once I know how much oil is in there, I can comment on the effectiveness.
  12. Dropped off the Liberal Albero rear under panel to get vinyl wrapped. Liberal “paint matched” it in Japan which was actually fairly cheap but it looks like 36J, Arctic White Pearl, rather than the 37J, satin white pearl, that I ordered. I opted to go with a gunmetal wrap to match my wheels (Enkei Raijins and ‘04 STi BBS’s) for a little contrast on the rear end. I was going to have it clear-bra’d for protection just because of where it is mounted so vinyl wrap will accomplish the same thing.
  13. Who has a SpecB 6MT installed though? Also Gunnar told me some cheats to avoid looking for unicorn parts.
  14. Huge thanks to ValleyLegacy for helping me find all of the bits necessary for an EDM center console swap! We started trying to find everything back in August. I found a center console on ebay Germany and the seller also found me the shifter trim ring and e-brake boot. Then after a bad German Subaru parts dealer sat on the order for months doing nothing he was able to find the remaining parts on EBay Italy. The parts themselves were in Latvia. I also found the double console box and Alcantara armrest cover on Yahoo Japan Auctions. I got the remaining parts today so I’ll probably swap this weekend if not early next week.
  15. This showed up again over the weekend. I took it down to Surgeline today and they determined it was a leaky fuel dampener (which they haven’t seen before). They threw on a new dampener for me and confirmed that the leak was gone.
  16. Scheduled my power tune at Surgeline for April 10th.
  17. I picked up my car today. I’m on a break in map getting 316hp/311tq. I’m hoping to add these first 1000 miles quickly so I can get the power tune and not be limited to 5k rpm and 12psi boost. They forgot to plumb the EWG dump into the downpipe so I’ll make the call on whether I still want that when I take it in for the power tune. I installed the STi airbag and the SuperStick oil dipstick when I got it home.

  19. I just got a call from Surgeline. SHE’S ALIVE!!!! It should be ready for pickup as early as tomorrow.

  21. For comparisons sake the EDM beam that I bought from Partsouq weighs 4.55 kg. (https://partsouq.com/en/search/all?q=57712AG320) What I don’t know is the weight of the USDM beam, but the delta between these two is only 6.17 pounds so not major weight. Available here: https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/shopping/toptuner-store_sym64248210001?lang=en&rc=yshop
  22. It’s available on Yahoo Japan Auctions. Sadly, US companies, like Oswald Performance, never made a lightweight beam for the BL/BP chassis.
  23. Another option is the Syms F.E.R. (Front End Reinforcement) which should improve handling by reducing weight at the very front of the chassis. They also claim better cooling by reducing the obstructions to the radiator. http://www.syms.jp/shop/g_images/FER-l.jpg SYMS FER weight · · · 1.75 kg http://www.syms.jp/shop/main.cgi?mode=details&sid=1&gid=1S000194
