  1. Courage wolf: 1500 miles after my short block replacement, I'm going to drive to Nashville and back without having added oil.
  2. I'm.... just being me. No crazy stories, no builds.
  3. No clue but that would be cool to own.
  4. Good response Fish. Look at it this way, HP (and Cisco I guess) Enterprise network switches have lifetime warranties. "Lifetime" lasts right up until they "end of life" a particular product, whether that is 5 years or 5 days after you buy it. Every complicated thing ever has and will have issues. Subaru probably needs to step up a little on the units failing not far out of warranty, but the one fluid analysis we have seen to date seems to indicate that the fluid was still just fine. Oil consumption issues? I just got a new short block. Am I happy my car had a problem? No. Am I happy Subaru resolved it? Yes.
  5. It's pretty cheap to do really. I ordered a kit and should be changing my fluid around 36k miles or less.
  6. I don't run with that kind of crowd and don't enjoy those type of crazy events where illegal crap happens. I also don't enjoy over priced crowded tourist towns. Therefore I could not care less about what happens. But - you make a tourist town that exists off tourist money on a mountain road? Deal with the boy racer tourists. That's like Florida towns complaining that college kids are too rowdy on Spring Break.
  7. $511 And they won't even fit my car (just kidding)
  8. I've seen that color about once a week. *The day after my weekly mexican food and beer binge.
  9. Oh wow, yeah I've got a wife and kid, need more notice lol
  10. I'm fine either way, but Mondays would be a good way to start a week with drink specials I'd say not Tuesdays since that's when wrxatlanta does there's, and while I don't go to those others might.
  11. I don't even know what SoWo is lol
  12. Our refineries are not set up for diesel to be our main fuel. I remember reading how refineries are built to be biased either towards diesel (Europe) or gasoline. If we took a big swing towards diesel it would mean a (temporary) diesel shortage.
  13. I think it's just a diesel thing. Which means U.S. can no has.
  14. It's not so much the age as it is I have a wife and kid and a boring daily driver now. I don't do many car shows, or get into the stance scene lol. I'd like to have a meet and hang out, have a few drinks etc, but it would have to be family friendly for me. wrxatlanta does meets and kids/ wives are welcome, but they're on Tuesday nights and always so far from me.
  15. So I finally realized I have no friends to hang out with No, really. I moved here 2.5 years ago. I lived in a small town very near the small town where I worked. I made really good work friends and we had guys' nights weekly and weekend fun. I got engaged, and took a job in Atlanta. I have made good work friends here too, but none of us live near work or in the city, we are all different directions and busy with lives. I got married and moved outside of Marietta, which is nice enough. I do things all the time with the wife, but having a kid makes some things difficult to attend. I have met people in the neighborhood, but realized none are "friends" when the other day a guy was talking about going 3.5 hours away to get an old Subaru and I didn't jump at the opportunity to go. I am on wrxatlanta but honestly as an older guy with a NA Legacy I don't fit in there. This forum is the closest thing to community, and I am older and more boring than the LGT guys too Ah well, not saying anything, just occurred to me and wanted to say thanks to you guys for being around
  16. According to research "through mode" turns off the crappy factory eq settings. It sounds at once better (getting rid of electronic trickery like sound staging?) and muddier (mmmm factory speakers?). I long for a proper eq, but to be fair once I set it to "through" I was through and didn't mess with loudness or the bass/treble/mid settings.
  17. Not sure Loud was on or off by default, but I hear no difference. What is the second set there? I set mine to "sedan" but now what?
  18. Supposed to get my car back today!
  19. Looks like a bit... younger crowd than I would typically hang with.
  20. Gborja, the simple fact is that the industry needs people like you, and in the end we all benefit. We call you an "early adopter" which just means people like you buy stuff before the masses but also before it is perfected. You bring up Tesla. Tesla was not the first electric to market, neither was Saturn the first to market with the EV1. People have known for decades that electric motors make maximum torque at 0 rpm so yes we knew their acceleration potential. What we've been waiting on was technology (batteries) to catch up. Now we have to wait for costs to come down (rare earth metals in the batteries etc) and infrastructure (charging station to gas station ratio) to catch up. Even with technology and early adopters biting the bit to try these cars Tesla almost failed and was on the brink of being sold to Google. When the EV1 was lease only and HAD to be returned to GM at the end people very vocally complained and petitioned to keep their cars - and it was not a good car, it was the early adopters and their drive to be a part of innovation. What I am saying in way too many words is this: the technology is not quite there for this yet. We may see some benefits (like the EV1) but it is not ready for mass consumption. One day it very well could be assuming we haven't gone all electric or hydrogen or solar or.... you get the picture. But if/ when it does come we have people like you to thank. Until then, the rest of us will do what we've always done, re-jet our carbs and mount better tires.
  21. I THINK he means that judging by the gains shown on his second gear pull, top speed for the vehicle could increase by 15 kph. Trust me, my CVT ain't that magic.
  22. My ScoobyToo got dropped of for a heart transplant a few minutes ago, your prayers are appreciated.
