the 3rd Gen pic thread...

Damn, can't do anything to your cars there, its a wonder that so many great aftermarket companies for these cars are based out of Australia/New Zealand. -
Your a lucky dog to find one of those hoods, been scouring the united states and subaru never had much of a following where I live. There isn't too much going on in that mirror besides the tape, might need to adjust your window stops or replace the weather stripping..I love the frameless glass for weight but the seal for the window takes a beating for it.

Lowered the transmission in my car to switch the shifters u-joint, I finally got rid of that old unserviceable expense. I slapped some kartboy bushings in and replaced the spring pin for a shoulder bolt. That Sti shifter feels snappy in there:). The rear shifter bushing is a little wore out too but I have seen the aftermarket ones how are those as far as an upgrade from oem?

Sounds like a good project and the offer is much appreciated monkey, I would need to get the car back on the road soon and who knows what the future holds for that. I'm due for another project after this one, maybe rebuilding the original motor to boost it. Could the vf11 be intercooled if you chose to do so?

Imperial measurement? Standard American equivalent would make that just over 3/4..your car looks amazing btw. Are those lmr's? -
There are a few things that are pretty neat about this motor I thought..like the thermostat housing is cast aluminum along with the motor mount brackets, and the castings on the block are quite different too. Eh..anyway i'll be disassembling the motor during the week and putting the regrinded cams in along with searching for a good master headgasket and motor gasket set. Any recommendations on those types of kits..I saw one on the internet that came with ALL seals and gaskets for $89 bucks but sounds terribly cheap to me, figured I might stay away from those.

Can't go wrong with Subaru thermostats and caps, the water is flowing though right? Don't know if you use oem or aftermarket water pumps but an experience with those had me take the front of the engine apart twice to fix it. Brand new one was defective..I was so mad. But it turned out ok with the second one, maybe a freak occurrence but credibility is an easy thing to lose with those types of parts.

Three hookers are on a corner, a red head, a black girl and a blonde..its the end of the night and they're pimp comes around to collect his cash. All three of them take off running down an ally between some buildings and they see three bags so they decide to hide in them. The pimp sees the three bags and gives them each a kick with his foot... He kicks the the bag which holds the redhead and she says "ouch!" He kicks the bag which holds the black girl and she says "ouch!". then he kicks the bag which holds the blonde chick and she says "po-ta-toe".

Most agreed, they are budget coilovers and you get what you pay for imo, I wouldn't mind putting some on my dd..I have never been a fan of coilovers because of the ride, but you can buy tein coils with the edfc and customize your ride comfort but those are about 3g's and out the door...again you get what you pay for. Strut spring combos with these cars apparently are the way to go as per like 30 2nd gen owners.

You got what you need to make it a lot easier then. They will come out nice then if you don't like it you can still paint them with a good smooth surface and the paint will look shinier. When you clean them you can spray them with a 10% ammonia 90% water, thats a detailers trick to remove swirl marks and haze before a coat of finishing gloss goes on a fresh paint job.
