  1. I had the privilege to drive GTEASER's LGT and the clutch pedal on his was comparable to my 2.5i base. This clutch it a lot heavier.
  2. I am looking at the Southbend FJK1001-HD- OFE. http://www.dxdracingclutches.com/ecommerce/FJK1001-HD-OFE.cfm?item_id=4269
  3. When I bought the LGT used the clutch was already stiff. A lot stiffer than my 2012 base model 6spd Legacy. I chalked it up to the previous owners lived in San Francisco and the hills there did a number on the clutch. I've always felt something was off with the clutch. Who knows. Maybe the previous owners replaced it and I already have a Southbend in there. GTEASER helped me with the damper delete install. That helped with feeling the engagement point. It just seems like it's not right and now it's making me anxious when I am in boost and the clutch slips.
  4. I am in need of a new clutch. I have about 88K on the OEM and it's starting to slip when I get into boost in 3rd and 4th gear. If I'm gentle I can slowly accelerate and it will hold, but those times when I need to make a quick pass, the revs quickly climb past 4500 rpm then it catches. I have a Cryotune Stage 1 map. I am very happy with it (Thanks Dave!) So I don't plan on doing any further upgrade in the power department in the near future. So I have started shopping around for a new clutch kit. So I tried doing a search on the forum. I want to say this forum (5th Gen) is awesome. So many great posts even though they are all over the place. Some threads are dead, others no one is posting in or the thread is closed. :spin: Here's what I came up with. For sure I am going with the TSK-3 kit (on sale for $169.95) this is just cheap insurance IMHO. I just cant decide on a Exedy Stage 1 kit ($520) with the Exedy light weight flywheel ($324.05) for the 06+ WRX or Future proof with Competition Clutch Stage 2 clutch & flywheel kit ($752) or Stick with the OEM Exedy clutch ($280) & flywheel ($323) If you have one of the above kits can you share your experience? driveability? Chatter? If you don't have one of the above kits which do you have and how do you like it? Any advice is appreciated.
  5. i still haven't installed mine!! the eibach springs, koni inserts, donor struts are all in a box in the corner of my garage. I have one set of donor struts cut and but stripped the allen key of the install bolt. I focused my efforts to other stuff around the house. I have three aquariums and a house rabbit!!!
  6. former 2.5i base model owner here....i had to buy the OEM kit. With it there was a relay that was installed in the engine compartment and there was the mirror switch that included the switch for the fog light. so instead of having the convenience of using the headlight stalk, we had to reach a bit further and push the button on but the mirror switch.
  7. Should there be a KONI sticky for info like this? I am sure there are members now and in the future that will benefit from it. JS...There are several good posts full of info to sift through on this thread regarding the KONI inserts.
  8. Also found this rebound adjustment from the KONI site for the 8010 (rear) & 8610 (front) Adjustment Procedure 8010, 8041, 8210, 8241, 8610, 8641, 8710, 8741 Series Rebound Adjustment Procedures Externally Adjustable. These dampers can be adjusted, literally at the turn of a knob(or sweep window as in figure 1), a technique borrowed from Formula-1 racing where KONI dampers have dominated the field for years. One can switch back and forth, in most cases in a matter of seconds, from a comfortable "touring" setting to a more firmer setting for a sporty drive. By means of a knob damping forces can be altered to driving conditions or personal preferences. Moving the pin from left to right (counterclockwise) will cause the forces to increase. From the minimum or factory positions, there are 12 possible sweeps of adjustment ( 1 sweep equals 1/4 turn). 9. I emailed KONI and this is their response. The 8610 inserts are hydraulic dampers, meaning they do not carry a gas pressure. So the rod will not self-extend after compressing the shock by hand. In low pressure gas or monotube shocks the shock rod with self-extend due only to the internal gas charge, that is not a working function of the shock absorber itself. Good to know for anyone new to the insert game. This would be the same for the 8010s (rear) since they are the same design. .
  10. Hi I just received my KONI inserts part 8610 1453Sport. My question is in regards to the rebound action for these new inserts. I was curious about it and compared it to the stock strut. I tested both that I received by compressing the damping rod and they did not move. There wasn't any rebound action. I had to pull them back out from the housing. Aren't they supposed to have some rebound right out of the box? Or do they need to be primed. Is this a defective pair? Koni rebound video
  11. Thanks GTEASER....That should work with my current STI RSB? Is the brace necessary after lowering though?
  12. NVM....they look like Whiteline Rear Sway Bar Support Brace. http://www.emnotek.com/p-4405-subaru-wrxsti-2008-2014-whiteline-rear-sway-bar-support-brace.aspx
  13. Thanks S2....I saw your post from 2014...I am also shopping for the Megan rear toe kit now... http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4798783&postcount=835 In the 2nd picture what is the brace between the rear sway bar bushing to the LCA mount?
  14. shopping for rear lower control arms. i have looked at megan and hardrace....too me they look like they are the same exact parts. Just the stickers are different. Is one a knock off of the other? Does anyone have any insight on this?? Don't mean to offend any owners of either RLCA. 17. Check out pro clips. http://www.proclipusa.com/dashboard-mounts/vehicle/subaru/legacy/2010-2014/proclip-console-mount-834426-13018.cmsv Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  18. I forgot to add that I can still use the mount as a cell phone mount in another car. Just undo the suction and transfer....easy peasy!! Now that i think about it it may get in the way of the boost pod on the left side of the dash hood in the TEASER!!
  19. This was the original method See this thread http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5125899&postcount=17043 I modified it. I no longer use the vent clips. They plastic vents were getting deformed in the hot California sun. The mount on the back is a ball and socket design. I repurposed and old garmin navigation unit suction cup. The AP has a metal back so it just sticks to the magnetic mount. This is the mount from best buy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/bracketron-earth-elements-universal-vent-mount-black/7502155.p?id=1219276502656&skuId=7502155 here's the line of sight. it's up and out of the way. no longer blocking the defrost or drivers vent. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g217/amidroc/2010%20Legacy%20GT%20Premium/20160223_143426_zpsxiksrvl8.jpg bracket mounted to the window with garmin suction cup http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g217/amidroc/2010%20Legacy%20GT%20Premium/20160223_143440_zpsjegtgj6g.jpg http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g217/amidroc/2010%20Legacy%20GT%20Premium/20160223_143446_zpsmylxts3f.jpg bracket showing back of mount and garmin suction cup http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g217/amidroc/2010%20Legacy%20GT%20Premium/20160223_143457_zpstpguvcua.jpg Unfortunately I have to leave my LGT parked on the street in front of my house at night. To prevent any ill willers, I remove my AP when parked. I leave the cable lying over the steering column. I stach it in the arm rest top compartment. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g217/amidroc/2010%20Legacy%20GT%20Premium/20160223_143618_zpsznrybnsz.jpg
