Car came to a sudden stop on freeway.
JMack replied to legacy1657616328's topic in Sixth Generation Legacy (2015 -2019 )
Why did you not take over driving the car? Wouldn't you notice the brakes being applied dramatically like that and do something to intervene? -
Clean 4th-gen 5MT GT wagon for sale on CarsAndBids
JMack replied to Pleides's topic in Fourth Generation Legacy (2005 - 2009)
whoa... I did not expect that. I paid 6k for mine. No rust that I have seen or found yet either. -
Don't think those would work on the 4th gen... We have the frameless windows. It would have to be snap in of some sort. I know they make the universal slide over type that stretches, but those are weird and get gross if it rains.

Man, wish I could get a set for the wagon for sure! That is a few more than 4 doors though. I would take a set for the 4 fronts and the rear 3 (c-d pillar and rear window).

COBB Tuning SF Intake and Airbox
JMack replied to norutah's topic in Member Classifieds (2005 - 2009)
Where would it be shipping from? -
It is running great actually (after the issue with the gas). No CEL, no stumbling, no rough idle. I do notice that it idles quite high at startup for the first bit (1500 ish). Also the blower motor is noisy (and apparently smells like "old car" according to my wife). Exhaust leak, but I am pricing options on that right now. Everything has to go through the better half and she doesn't want me to spend much on it right now. Needs brakes and maintenance for sure in the near future.

Construction has begun
JMack replied to Max Capacity's topic in Garage and Tools - what are your plans?
Congrats! My next big home thing is a Kitchen Gut and redo, then a garage or barn. -
What is the Part Number for the 2 piece fronts? Or link possibly? These fit on the LGT? I thought the LGT and WRX rotors and calipers were different.

I will check those on the AP. Honestly, I am not too rough on the car at all. I have never redlined it, and I doubt the previous owner did either. I always keep the fuel above 1/4 (give or take a tiny amount). The only hard part I give it, is that I do not have a garage, so it lives outside. Hoping to start upgrading little things very soon.

Are they? Cool. I thought they were fairly normal when the sway bar got replaced (kind of like a combo deal normally).

The green connector in the passenger footwell is for programing or flashing the ECU. Disconnect that. That is what you connect to update the ECU with Accessport or the tuner would do. I would check my grounds back at the fueling system if I were you. Check for power to the fuel pump connector when you first turn the key to "ON" without cranking the starter. Also check the SBF-2 30A fuse in the main fuse box and the relay for the fuel pump. IIRC there is also a control box in the trunk area for the fuel pump as well. Someone else will chime in for some help as well I would bet.

I will thrash on it daily, and just find another, or rebuild. I absolutely LOVE wagons, and wanted to swap my 97 LGT wagon, but it is just a lost cause unfortunately. Would like to put my 97 snowflake wheels on this, but they won't fit over the LGT brakes. Plan on working on quite a few upgrades, but the wife is fighting me about them right now. Future plans are replace all the suspension bushings with stiffer units. Powder coat all, and the brake calipers. Injectors, FMIC, and Alky injection with bigger turbo later. That is just the basics. We will see how it goes in the future. So far I have not found any rust, and the car is wonderful, minus the usual Subaru clunks and rattles, plus an exhaust leak, but that fix is in the works already.

Wanted to start a thread to document my car (for myself mostly). 23 Jun 2021 - I bought a 2005 Atlantic Blue Legacy GT Wagon with Black leather interior, with a 5 speed manual. 161000 (ish) on the clock. It is a salvage (rebuilt) title (it was included in the tornados of 2018 in Western Ohio), but the damage is a handful of dents from some tree limbs. I plan to get the dents removed by a PDR guy that is local out here that does a good job. Car is modified, specs as follows (as far as I know) Stage 2 via Cobb Accessport V2 Cobb Downpipe Koni adjustable struts Whiteline HD front swaybar Whiteline front endlinks Has an extra set of 17 inch factory wheels (sprayed gold) from another model Subaru, wrapped in Blizzaks (IIRC). 22 Jul 2021 - Topped up on gas at a local Speedway. Left and after a few miles, the car started running a little rough. Next day (23 Jul), dash / instrument panel lit up like Christmas. Checked the codes, and got the P0457 (IIRC). Checked, and sure enough, I SUCK AGAIN! Left my gas cap on the pump the day before. Ordered a new one on Amazon. Car still ran poorly. Topped up on gas on 26 Jul, and after a few miles, the car started running better again! Small victory for me, after many angry words from my wife.

I would also like to know this... I am NOT fond of the center console on my 05 LGT wagon. I don't particularly care for the cup holder "garage" door, the armrest is too short, and the e-brake handle and boot don't fit well and look crap. Anyone have an idea about fixing this stuff?

I have a 2005 LGT wagon, and could not be happier with it. It is exactly what I wanted (and that was narrowed by the desire for MT, only 2005 for the wagon here in USDM). Good luck, I don't want to make your choice for you, but Subaru is my make of choice. *EDIT* Just looked at it, I WANT THAT CAR!!! I need that exhaust in my life. There are so many JDM parts that I want and cannot get for good pricing here...

No problem! Funny... I would MUCH rather start from scratch than modify something existing! I REALLY want to do a shaved and tucked engine bay, but I have to daily my LGT... I would wind up having it down for weeks if not months making it perfect.
