  1. It seems many cars do that now. My 2016 Civic has a combination unit.
  2. Sucks I am all the way across the country. I am an Avionics guy (aircraft electronics). I have been modifying, building, and repairing aircraft electrical systems since early 2002, and feel I have become somewhat proficient in it. I also did a Hot Rod wiring harness in an old muscle car when I was in the service. If you have any questions or anything, reach out, I would be happy to help. As a note, I am NOT an engineer in any way shape or form, and I cannot help with color codes. Aircraft wiring is ALL white Teflon wiring with wire numbers stamped on.
  3. I did not, something similar (I only let it idle about 5 mins, not 10). It seems to be corrected however. I believe that I had some bad fuel. I did clean the MAF yesterday at work. It stumbled all over itself while it idled (for the 5 mins that I stated earlier), and then evened out. It has been running great since. Not really sure if it WAS the MAF cleaning, or the ECU reset, but the fuel for sure helped (I filled it back up yesterday morning). The car had been running poorly since Thursday of last week (last time I bought gas, and I had topped it up, also when I misplaced my fuel cap). THANK YOU ALL for your help!!!
  4. Crap... I am wondering if I got a bad tank of gas. That is the only thing that I have changed (and the missing gas cap). I will try, anything special to clean it with? ISO alcohol?
  5. Re-torqued... Unfortunately no dice. I was hoping this would work. Another fun advancement. I left my gas cap on a filler on Thursday and didn't realize (I know... I have a 2016 Honda Civic with the capless fill, and a 2017 Ford Transit 350 with capless fill). On Friday evening I was cruising home @ 75 mph with cruise on, and it kicked off, CEL, and flashing cruise light. Then it starts dying at the stop light before I make it home. Ordered a new cap (amazon direct replacement Gates). Came in Sunday and installed, cleared the CEL, thought everything was great. Drive car into work this morning and it dies at a coast to a Stop light... What is wrong now?!?!
  6. I will try to get a better scan soon. The first attempt I made was just a simple attempt when I had some time after work in my driveway.
  7. Ha! I was just thinking this. Shame to not be able to see the cool stuff, but also better for my wallet!
  8. Ok, I will try that out. It only binds like this when going into 1st and Reverse... Seems strange to me, I don't have a good history on this car, and someone spent a bit of money modifying it in the past (prior to the guy I bought it from).
  9. Sounds to me like I have a TIC super shift kit and linkage update in my future. That would be cool.
  10. Small change on this... Didn't want to start a new thread for a similar (related?) issue. I am having a hard time getting the car into 1st when stopped. I have driven mostly manual cars since 2000, so it isn't just a "new to me" type of thing. The clutch seems to only "stick" now occasionally, so I am not as worried about it now. I am wondering if this has something to do with the shift linkage or bushings?
  11. I figured I would post here because it can't ONLY be the 4th gen that is controlled this way.
  12. Lol!!! I promise I won't drop anything. I work on Aircraft for a living. Thank you all for the help! It seems to be lessening (if that is a word) with driving. The guy I bought this from only drove it occasionally from what I can guess. I am daily driving it, and am LOVING it!
  13. I work in an Aircraft hangar. I will try pulling the car into the hangar (smooth floor) and rolling around it with the Scanner on a chair. I will also mark out the distances and try to keep within at all times. I will get you one that works better if you give me a few days or a week.
  14. I bought a 2005 Legacy GT Wagon with the HUGE Radio / Climate control combo. I know there is a path to go with the JDM Climate control and the bezel for the double din radio. But I am curious about something. It appears that the Climate Control communicates with the Controller via a Control Unit mounted to the Blower Motor Unit. If this is an accurate statement, that would plausibly be through CANBUS, right? If that is the case, and it does communicate via CANBUS, couldn't there be a way to use the wiring and an appropriate CANBUS controller to do interactions with the Climate control digitally (think arduino, raspberry pi, or even a CANBUS enabled head unit for the radio like the Tesla)? I am not an electrical / electronic engineer, just an Avionics Tech who has lots of experience with Databus technologies.
  15. It doesn't seem to care much about the distance. I set it to high resolution, but I'm not sure if there is a way to tweak it. I will try again, and take a bit more time. some areas I spent more time scanning than others. Is there a particular portion that you would like additional time spent in (ie hood, tailgate, wing mirrors)?
  16. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JI8Q-5ynXUNiNOBxR9pU8L4-LN6FZyba/view?usp=sharing Hope this works. I'm not sure it did well. I may have to do it in pieces. It was nice outside and wanted to spend a bit of time outside.
  17. Would the plug be in the top or bottom of the Bell housing? Have only had the car for 1 week.
  18. So my new to me 2005 LGT wagon (5MT), I just started noticing something. When the clutch is depressed, and the shifter moved anywhere (neutral included), when you let off on the clutch pedal, the last bit where the "take-up" would be, it feels like it catches and then pops the rest of the way out. Not sure if this is normal or just my car? Any help would be great!
  19. Any particular app you would prefer? Free would be wonderful (obviously).
  20. Don't want to hijack the thread, but I have an Iphone 12 with LIDAR, and own a 1997 LGT Wagon, 2005 LGT Wagon, and a 2011 Outback. If you guys need anything, let me know. I can't make promises to how good I will do, but I would certainly try!
  21. Thank you all! I will use the manual for sure. I am familiar with Subaru and EJ engines. I have a 1997 LGT wagon (not moving on its own right now) and a 2011 Outback. For the radio, I want something with bluetooth audio and GPS built in (I do electronics in aircraft for a living, so have gotten accustomed to the newer moving map stuff).
  22. Washed up my "new" 05 LGT wagon. Details: 2005 LGT Wagon 5MT Leather w/ dual zone HVAC previous owner had Access Port and is "stage 2+" they say All corners Koni Adjustables Unknown EVERYTHING ELSE. All I truly know about the car is that the body is SOLID (and has been in OH for a while). It is pretty clean, pulls HARD (I came from a 2016 Honda Civic), and drives well (while stiff, I believe that the Koni's are adjusted pretty stiff). Anybody's input would be GREAT! I just want to have fun in it and make it mine. Want to get rid of the stereo and fix the drivers seat (small tear in bottom cushion).
