  1. 1. You're going to either have to leave the bumper beam out (its only aluminum and is for those 5 mph impacts) or you'll have to channel the beam about 2" and know someone who can weld aluminum. I'm going to eventually channel my beam, but for now I'm sans beam as any actual JDM car does not have one either. 2. Here we go, here's how to take that sucker off. Before you do, disconnect the negative lead of the battery (better safe then sorry) 2a. Pop the trunk and remove the two plastic hooks inside the trunk by the tail lights. To remove them rotate the drivers side and passenger side hooks 90 degrees clockwise and counter-clockwise respectively (if you were in the trunk looking at them), then push them out. Next at either side of the trunk there are these black plastic caps (about 1" in diameter), pop them out and remove the 10mm bolts 2b. Now pull the trunk liner back away from the rear near both tail lights so you can loosen (5/16ths wrench) and remove the four gold nuts that hold the tails on (also remember to unhook the yellow electrical connectors for the lights). Once you do, wiggle them out and set them aside. 2c. Remove the four pop-its (two under each tail light) and then go under the rear of the car. At the rear of the bumper underside there are four more pop-its and then there is one on either side at the bottom of each wheel well (underneath the car) 2d. Now jack up the rear of the car (this is the easiest way to do the next step), either jack one side up at a time with the jack in the trunk (this is the easiest way and will get you familiar with the cars jack) or jack up the rear and put it on jack stands. 2e. Once the ass is in the air, pull the inner fender liner back into the wheel well and where the upper corner of the bumper meets the quarter-panel, about 1.5" in there is a 10mm bolt, just like the one you remove in the trunk, you cant see it, just feel around for it, one you find it, remove it (then go to the other side and do the same. The bumper is now free from the car. 2f. Gently pull both sides of the bumper away from the car (it will kinda pop out and the bumper may swing down a little bit. Go to the rear of the car and wiggle the bumper off towards you. Ta-da the ugly huge bumper is off. Now you see the giant aluminum beam, on either side there are 3 nuts that are visible through the holes (can't remember the metric size, just have your tool kit open and at the ready). remove them bitches and pull the beam off. Now if you want take it to a metal shop that can weld aluminum and have them section the beam 2" (I'm pretty sure thats the amount you need to remove, but check before you do). 2g. Alrighty on either side of the bumper there are two aluminum brackets, if your JDM bumper has these on it you're golden, if not here's what I did. Take them and bend the rear (towards the back of the bumper) tabs that overlap the bumper up (they're about a mm wide and 3mm long). Next gently pull the aluminum brackets away from the bumper and wiggle them to release the rivets from the plastic. To install them on the JDM bumper warm it up a bit so you can elongate the holes just a little bit so you can wiggle them back on through the holes (if its been sitting out in the sun for about an hr it should be good). Start at the front of the bumper where the wheel arch is and work backwards to the rear, its a bitch to do so take your time. If you really want, drill the rivets out and then replace them when you put it back on the car. 2h. Yay! Put it all back together in reverse and you're done!!!!!!!!!!! Woooooooooooo JDM time
  2. Nope, dont really like them without the spoiler (or with a lip for some reason (really weird 3/4 view of the car). Everything's painted and it looks damn good! I'll have to take pics if its nice this weekend (when I can wash the rest of the car). Spats wont be back on for another 2 weeks as I want to let the paint really cure before I put the double sided 3M tape on. Oh and if anyone ever needs to take the rear bumper off a sedan let me know it takes me 20 mins tops while drinkin a beer.
  3. JDM rear on prior to paint.... http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/Aczwild/IMG_3386.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/Aczwild/IMG_3385.jpg http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/Aczwild/IMG_3384.jpg
  4. Man I gotta get my JDM rear bumper on and get the front bumper in
  5. Negative, Merged onto 89 yesterday around 5:10 one car behind a silver, debadged modded GT. Couldnt get up to you as there were too many slow cars blocking me. Never seen that car, anyone on here?
  6. DGM '08-'09 Spec B today (Sat) at Lincoln Peak Sugarbush, MA plates, Planet Subaru.
  7. P0171 - Fuel Trim Malfunction P0303 - Cyl 3 misfire P0304 - Cyl 4 misfire Oh well off to Buffalo
  8. Not sure yet, car's idle is really f'd, stalls out at speed if you downshift w/o blipping the shit outta the throttle, fuel trim malfunction, Cyl 3 & 4 misfire. So its at Burlington Subaru now for them to figure it out (and they better not just say its a bad tank of fuel because it definitely isnt, its something to do with weather under 20F and the colder it gets the more f'd the car is)
  9. So any Vt'er's see my bitch heading through Burlington around 3?.... http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/Aczwild/0116091515a.jpg
  10. i have never (4 different 95-99 Legacy's) seen the radio clock area be lit at night, however i can dissect my extra HU and see. BTW hopefully i'll have some more instructions for other things up by the end of the weekend and I will revise this thread for easier removal.
  11. Its rebuilt, has no airbags, has been in a few off road incidents, etc.
  12. I think she is associated with Steve, shes always around Vergennes, unless I am thinking of another LGT. BTW if anyone ever sees steve's '06 spec B up for sale, dont pick it up
  13. Hey man, I think you are the guy I saw in the spring up at UVM. I pulled in next to you in the Museum parking lot. Nice car
  14. Saw you this morning Groff on my way in around 8:30 right before you turned after the OC bridge in Vergennes, I was driving our White GMC Truck since I have some large exterior pieces for the GT to pick up in Burlington tonight
  15. vaccaroja, you need to stuff it, you can't talk smack about a car if your parts are "sitting in your room" or you're gonna be ordering them or about a job you dont have yet, to pay for the parts you dont have Groff, yeah I've seen plenty of good looking girls driving around in LGT's, hell this morning I almost did a full 180 in my seat checking out a girl driving one in Vergennes on my way into work. We have to figure out a game plan
  16. If we're going solely on the "GT", then '05 only because you could still get a GT wagon with a 5MT transmission. However I believe that '07 was the best year only when counting the Spec B as that car. Black/blue interior, awesome color, 6MT, etc, etc.
  17. White '05-'07 LGT with an aftermarket exhaust in Middlebury around 6pm this evening. CooCoo? Looked like you, but you were on your phone and I couldnt tell
