  1. Just saw your thread, looks great. We'll be twins once you get that bumper on. I have the body-painted option lip on mine but I feel I need some kind of polyurethane lip as well.. If madrig gets something going I'd be interested in that.
  2. Hey so I used the car's regular speaker wiring for the door speakers. After installing the amp, yes I ran the 12 gauge to the OEM wiring for now. You can definitely solder them but I used that solder heatshrink stuff since I find it gives a pretty secure connection in tight spaces. In terms of the car harness vs the aftermarket harness, if you decide to use the OEM wiring you can definitely make the cut and run the wires on the aftermarket harness side since it feeds into the OEM harness anyway. That's definitely a safe way to go if you want to preserve the car harness. I'm trying to remember why I cut the car harness and I think it had to do with the fact that it was already cut from someone tapping into a few of those wires for a subwoofer signal so I just decided to make all the connections there instead of patching that back up and and then cutting the Pioneer harness. I can't find any specs for the Pioneer 2770NEX but depending on how much power it has and how much power your components need, you might be good without an amp. The Polks handle up to 100RMS and the DMH1500 only gives something like 22 watts RMS so I needed the amp for the speakers to achieve their potential. Lastly, if you install an amp and run wires directly from the amp to the doors instead of using the car harness that's a good option as well. I did that with an older car one time and didn't find the benefit to be worth the trouble. I plan on running those wires eventually and bypassing the thinner wires in the car harness if I have the floor carpet out for something in the future but for now the car harness is the 90% solution.
  3. This is the 2nd gen version people use all the time for the in-cubby Nexus install. This is the wifi and data version so you can stick a SIM card in there and have data in your dash. Easy to root and very good condition with no scratches or anything. Will come with a nice leather case also. $80 shipped USA/Canada
  4. Haha lemme know when you decide, they're just sitting in a box in my garage
  5. Price dropped by $50. $750 + shipping firm. Let's move these things so I can buy some nice wheels
  6. Just dropped a full 2016 STI catback onto my car and it is absolutely perfect. Nice tone, not too loud, and ZERO drone. Much better than the OBX catback I tried on my last wagon.. and that ass tho..
  7. I wouldn't bother with JapanParts. When I did that swap on my last car I ordered from HKC Speed but when I got my current car he wasn't responding anymore. Don't know what their situation is. Best bet is to find one from a JDM importer. I find lots of places that import JDM engines import Legacy front clips or bumpers etc. There are also some on eBay. I wanted to do that same Spec B conversion on my current 05 lgt wagon again but because I couldn't find one, I ended up doing a full rev d-f conversion because I got a front clip for a good price. It was a hell of a lot more work and I wouldn't suggest it if you don't know what you're doing but it looks fantastic. About a month later I saw a JDM spec B bumper on ebay for about $500 so wait out and watch and you'll find them if that's what you want.
  8. Thanks, yeah I skipped it because I showed how to do it in the video about converting JDM to USDM headlights. Yes - there are other options out there from other companies but either way you have to buy something for it to work. I like the idatalink because you can program each button to have a second function when you hold it down for a second, so really you double the functionality and can add things like voice control etc.
  9. For the record for anyone else considering this, you have to get rid of the factory scoop on any model for this radiator cover to work without modification because the tool tray is where the scoop goes. I almost bought one for my 05 but when I read that in the description I decided to go with a JDM Zerosports one instead (Subtle solutions was another good option).
  10. In other wiring related news - I've been able to get my steering wheel audio controls to work properly with my headunit now so I've got fully functioning cruise control, audio controls, illumination and everything else on my wheel. Interior feels like a 2015 now. Anyone who wants to do this I've written a series of youtube videos on modernizing your steering wheel (and the rest of the interior is in my channel too): One day I'm planning to repaint the interior to tie it all leather and do some leather upholstery on some pieces. Also decided to throw one of those universal lips on the front since I can't find a well-fitting polyurethane lip for this bumper. Looks good but feels wrong being one of those cheap weatherstripping type lips..
  11. Yep that was it! haha I thought it might have something like that before you posted this too but I could only find the wire to cut to get the parking lines to appear. Turns out there's also another one to flip it. That makes this way more useful lol.
  12. Just curious what stops it from fitting on the 08 outback?
  13. I sent a message to the BC Racing website and this is what they sent to me: Me: Hello, I just purchased a set of BC Racing coilovers for my Legacy GT online from a private seller. When they showed up they are actually Outback coilovers rather than Legacy. Model number is F-07 and I wanted F-04. If I were to install these on my Legacy what would be the difference? Response: Hello, The kit mount points would be the same but there is a slight difference in the rear the shock and springs are 20mm tall for the outback so it will not go as low as the legacy kit. Please let me know how you would like to proceed we can not take back any kits that are installed. Thanks,
  14. I just bought these from a guy that told me they were for Legacies but actually this is the Outback specific model (F-07 vs F-04). It's possible they could work on a Legacy too with less adjustability but I don't really want to risk it. Looking for $750usd + shipping (~$100 to USA, $50 to Canada). Somewhat flexible on price but these are BRAND NEW in box.
