  1. literally, my slam dunk would be to just have the tranny hold together WHILE in gear, that's all i ask for. I let off and manual shift as is anyway....when i'm feeling sporty...
  2. i figured a resistor would bump line pressure.....
  3. How can I play with tcu sensor scales? I don't see why the tcu doesn't use the coolant temp as a guideline....would seems easier as the coolant temp should remain parellel with aft temp
  4. gotta catch the digitsssss then
  5. perhaps colder climate states have a prolonger tranny life? you and sprank seem to have the problems.
  6. it would be amusing to see how much a stock 5eat can handle power wise while in gear....just for shits and more shits.
  7. pics, i might recognize her
  8. So it's the actual shifting on wot between 3-4-5 is what causes them(4th and 5th) to roast? I wasn't sure if it's infact the clutches for 4th and 5th being weak while in gear, or it's the inheretant slow shifting(low rt point) thats slipping and roasting...while on wot
  9. Yea it seems that way- i hear that wot in 5th and 4th is a way to roast em. Is that because of the shifting or the slip when its in the gear? Im pretty sure you just answered that.
  10. Iiinteresting. I lol'ed on the train when you said 3EAT. Hell, those 4eat's are pretty robust and hear they're easier to mod and work on since theyre hydraulic. All these damn electronic shits
  11. thanks Dave! Personally, I can live without wot during shifts, I always drive it like a manual anyway. I know it would be hard to determine but the reason i asked about internal differences was because I know of a few 05 5eat's that hold the power of a 20'g when in manual mode doing dyno pulls. Wasn't sure if the power handling capability of the 05-06 and 07-09 were different. (I.E. clutch disc sizes, etc).
  12. There have been a couple 20g 5eats local here, they are holding up...maybe because powerband is up top where the line pressure is? Oh well, just wanna get through the dyno tune, i will not be romping on it
  13. The reason that was said was to reduce heat buildup via the TC. If the tc stays nearly engaged it will not prose internal friction to the atf. However, you have two options- stay on the throttle and slip between gears via the clutches, or heat up the atf by letting off between gears. Lol i know which one id pick! Back on to my topic: im buggin out about the dyno tune once i get this 20g on 3rd gear pull after pull
  14. I was under the impression that slip will occur in the lower rpm area- not that a 20g will have torque in lower rpm but 3800-4k is when id need full clutch pressure to hold the power till 6k or so
  15. Yes but do we know how much power the tranny can hold once in a gear? I always let off between shifts even now...i just dont want clutch slip as im doing a 3rd gear pull
  16. what's wrong? I have a slew of power parts on my desk. I'm sorry if I sound forthcoming Dave, I'm just anxious edit: I'm willing to be a test dummy for the vb mod...
  17. I would like to know when the 08+ vb mod will be available. I have nearly all my parts waiting to go in, and it might have to go to IPT. I will have a chat with them.
  18. proud to say that i have a 20g turbo waiting to go in pending this vb purchase, the money is sitting waitinggggg
  19. 05-07 ABP gt hids enkei wheels in irving station wakefield today
  20. But I don't want a PM. I have a fmic. I was asking a question.
  21. do the rails actually press the tabs in when you push them on or do they just rest there with play in them?
  22. sounds like a vac hose popped off, check the lines under the IC going into the manifold
