  1. Ooooh, did you buy his USB ROM through? That's probably why. I purchased the USB ROM from his website, and then he gave me access immediately.
  2. That's strange. Did he give a reason why? Worst case, I created a throwaway account for access to his forum (no way I was giving away my actual reddit username ), and if you need it I can let you use it.
  3. Eek! That price! Is that what those normally go for?
  4. Yep, I could see the rear bumper. And the way this one is mounted, you don't notice it unless specifically looking for it. Keeps the car looking clean, even though I sure as hell don't keep it clean!
  5. I found the same with my 2012. So I installed CM on it, and it was back to being zippy. Only reason I ended up getting the 2013 was because the 2012 charge port failed, and it was cheaper to buy the 2013 instead of fixing the 2012. Oh, and picture attached as requested. Keep in mind, you shouldn't have to cut the hole there, I did just because I had a previous backup camera installed there already and wanted to use the same spot.
  6. You're horrible. I'll see what I can do.
  7. Hey no worries, happy to help. I've already mounted it, and was using it with a wireless transmitter (it creates it's own wifi network which my tablet would connect to view the stream). Quality is great, no complaints there. I mounted it directly above the license plate sort of upside down in how it shows in the photos. The nice thing is the camera rotates within the bracket so you can mount the bracket anyway that works and then just rotate the camera until it is correctly oriented. Above the license plate is the license plate lights, and I attached it to the same trim that holds the lights.
  8. Yea, I have a backup camera that I've been using off and on. The important parts is a nice wide FOV, and the LUX rating. I ended up buying this one: [ame=http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00GSFIJS6?ref_=pe_1162070_123184320]Esky EC170-06 World Smallest HD Color CCD Waterproof Vehicle Car Rear View Backup Camera, 170 Degree Viewing Angle Rearview Camera(0.86*0.65*0.50 inch): Amazon.ca: Electronics[/ame]
  9. Sorry, I misread your original post. You're right, just any backup camera with a composite output will do with the STK1160 capture cards.
  10. Not quite, the chip has to be an STK1160 chip which is only compatible with XP (and Linux). Some of the newer ones which are advertised as being compatible with Win7 are not the STK1160 and those apparently will not work. I bought one of the STK1160 cameras, but just haven't tried plugging it in yet.
  11. These work as verified by a members of the reddit group (which is private): http://www.ebay.com/itm/281780205504 [ame=http://www.amazon.de/mumbi-Video-Grabber-USB-Nachbearbeitung/dp/B002RX49AU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1441626721&sr=8-1&keywords=mumbi+grabber]mumbi Video Grabber USB 2.0 - Audio und Videograbber: Amazon.de: Computer & Zubehör[/ame]
  12. I'd be interested too out of curiousity. Not sure how you can get a bigger opening for the tablet without reducing the size of the vents or increasing the over all size of the bezel.
  13. That's what mine was. It's really not that hard at all, especially if you are not relocating the info centre. To keep the angle of my tablet vertically straight, I ended up cutting up a tupperware container that was the exact dimensions and placing it in there (after painting it). Worked pretty well and has held up over the years. I originally had some fibre-glass and plastic attempts before that either looked crappy or didn't hold up to the wear of removing the tablet repeatedly.
  14. And how do you have paddle shifters AND shift buttons? Is that stock? Btw, like the carbon fiber trim along your head unit.
  15. Yea, it's a bluetooth receiver. Lets me wirelessly connect my phone into the stereo system for phonecalls.
  16. That's right, I had to drill a hole on both vents for the headphone jack and the usb port. It also acts as a way to keep the tablet in place.
  17. Top and bottom is slightly narrower, but it still fills the space and there are no gaps top and bottom. I can get you a photo of the enclosure while it's installed no problem. I would just rather not take it all apart to show the inside mount and all until I need to get in there.
  18. I only have photos of my 2012 model tablet in there. Just put a 2013 model in there a few weeks back. Fit is the same as how the 2012 was placed tough. It pushes the vents out but when placing the bezel back in place the opening in the dash squeezes the vents back into place. I hope that makes sense. If not, I can get some photos next time I have it taken out.
  19. I've got a Nexus 7 2013 model that I have between the stock bezel (stock bezel which had the cubby) and while it is very tight, it works.
  20. As an update, just bought a Nexus 7 (2nd gen, 2013 model) and purchased the Timur's USB ROM and will likely install that on there. My 2012 Nexus 7 stopped charging about a week ago, and I think it may have to do with our hot weather the past couple of months. I doubt +60C internal temps is good for the tablet.
  21. Sorry, not sure. There is one way to find out!
  22. Ok great! If you do end up using it, let me know what you think. I upgraded from stock firmware on 4.4 (which made it horribly slow) to CM and it was good enough for what I wanted (root access with better performance). I grabbed that mod as well in case the CM wasn't good enough or if I eventually need a USBROM for my backup camera. Just haven't gotten around to it.
  23. Is it called cm-10.1-20130817-USBROM-grouper-1.zip? If so, I have that one. I have it from a while ago when I was interested in using it but never did apply it to my Nexus.
  24. Ironically, (?) this Canadian does not have problems with his tablet in the winter months, it doesn't get cold enough.
