  1. Google actually owns Waze, but I think they are pushing Google Maps / Google Navigation and Google Drive more so you may not see Waze in Android Auto any time soon.
  2. I know I'm probably on my own on this opinion, but I still think the Impreza/Forester has the best interior. I love that three dials is all they need for all of climate control and makes it look super clean.
  3. Now, the important question. Will the headunit with Android Auto/Apple Carplay be swappable into the 2015-2017 models? That's the only new feature that interests me enough to consider the 2018 over the 2015-2017 models. I'd rather save a few grand and swap the headunit myself if it's possible.
  4. Wow, I love how he even took the time to colour match the gauges to the LGT's.
  5. What app is that you have running? I just bought a Bluetooth OBD2 reader, and I would be looking for a nice app to run on my tablet.
  6. This is what I've used: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/182263438865?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=484756727725&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT But I use it for my phone and not a tablet. I'm not 100% sure if it'll charge at the rate required for the tablet, as these cheap cables don't always have the same spec as the OEM ones.
  7. I have not. You are aware that's an HDMI cable, though, right? Not sure what you'd be using that for here. If you're talking about micro-usb right-angle cables, yes, I've used them in the past.
  8. I think I'm going to remove the system permanently, as it makes no sense to keep it in for a dealer trade in. Once it's out, I'll post some photos and if someone wants to take it off my hands I would be open to that.
  9. I feel ya. I kept hoping that a 2015 or 2016 Legacy 3.6r was available in my price range as that's what I'm getting next. Won't have to deal with this again, the tablet was great but I'm ready to move onto a stock config. Anyone interested in my setup, lol?
  10. Good suggestion, and that's what they said as well. I have one of those vent boost gauges in there as well, and now that's not working anymore since they took a look at my car. I'll have to remove it all I suppose and reschedule. I did end up going to another Subaru dealership, and showed the tech's my setup. I showed how simple it was to remove and he said it'd be an extra 30 minutes of labour, which I think is fair. I'll still likely remove as much as I can (without removing the headunit) and then just put it back afterwards.
  11. Anybody who has their tablets installed had the airbag recall done? Took my car in today, they took one look at my system and said it'll be $280 to remove that as the recall only covers "stock" systems.
  12. Interesting, as our 2015's do have the Eye-Sight system.
  13. I know your post was over 2 years ago, but I'm curious how you have a push-start 3.6R without the Eye-Sight system. Is that an option in the US? In Canada, we have to get the entire Tech Package (Eye-Sight, Nav, etc) in order to get push start. http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=194580&d=1413742980
  14. I always figured my next Legacy was going to be white, but you guys are really making a good case for grey.
  15. Same with my current 4th gen LGT. I had to customize it with my own honeycomb grill.
  16. Thanks for the responses! Might be the first thing I do once I get my new Legacy.
  17. Subaru is listed, but no current (or 2017) vehicles appear to have it yet.
  18. rebourne, my next car will actually have the setup you're talking about (if it doesn't support Android Auto). White I love the tablet, and it is a clean install, there are too many little compromises that we all have to make for it to work. I think whenever I get the next Legacy, I might opt for a slide in mount with Qi charging, and then use AutomateIt or Tasker to automatically put it into car mode. That way, phone calls, txt messages, and all media on my phone is there for me instead of having to sync and/or use two devices in the car. This is all a moot point if Android Auto is available for Subaru though. Any word on that?
  19. I wouldn't do that. I was able to get both the N7 2012 and N7 2013 models into that cubby opening (once you remove the info panel below) without too many permanent modifications to the cubby. And I did not make ANY modifications to the tablets. With the 2013 model, it's a tight fit, but it will fit in the space provided. I drilled two holes into the vents so that the cables plug in via the vents, but other than that it was pretty easy. I have photos in the previous posts within this thread.
  20. If the car is completely off, everything is fine for me. The car goes past acc mode fast enough that the tablet doesn't turn on and once the engine is cranked all is good. Backup camera looks great, and functions well! I use the Carhome Ultra app for my car "dock" and I like its clean interface. Check it out!
  21. Another route to look at is to see if there is a power-out delay that you can allow on the tablet? But yes, that is an issue I deal with as well. I've just got in the habbit of turning the car of completely for a few seconds before cranking it up if I was in acc mode.
  22. I went the putty, then fibre glass route. In the end, both were a ton of work to get right, and then both ended up cracking or breaking from my repeated installation and removal of the tablet (was still figuring stuff out). I didn't feel like doing that again, so I went to Walmart, and from their tupperware section was able to find a tupperware container that was roughly the same size of the tablet screen. I cut out the bottom, reduced the sides so that they positioned the tablet at the angle I wanted (vertical instead of slanted), painted it black, and I have been happy with that since. I use Timur's ROM and the main reason for it was because it gives me USB ROM support for a backup camera. While I haven't installed the camera yet, the deep sleep is quite nice. I get 0.25% / hour with it. I was out of town over the winter break and didn't drive my car for 15 days and it was down to 16%. I had Cyanogen Mod before, and it was definitely good to, but didn't support the backup camera so I ponied up the cash for Timur's ROM.
  23. You have a 3 hr long track? What song is that!?
