  1. not concerned about rubbing, just the stretch on the tire. I hate that look. plus this is a 225/40 series, so not as much sidewall. Car is run on stock suspension for the winter.
  2. awesome, thanks for the help. the 255 35s aren't fitted yet, still need to get the motor in and put on the coils, but that is the plan. meanwhile ill roll around on stock suspension with the winter setup and get everything dialed in springtime. thanks!
  3. In the summer I am running a 255/35 on 18x8.5 +45s. Wondering if i will have trouble running a 225/40 blizzak winter tire on an 8.5" +35 winter setup? Ive always heard that in the winter you want a more narrow tire due to contact patch and putting more weight in less area to sink down and bite through. But now i'm concerned that the 225 will be stretched too much and can cause some damage to the unprotected edges of the rim. The rims (Ambit RT6 18x8.5 +35) were super cheap, so im not overly concerned about damage, but wondering if it will just be too much stretch and I should just run the spec b stockers with spacers to clear the front Brembos? NY weather is so hit or miss that they may only see 2-3 good snowfalls, but the rest would be semi-freezing mornings and cold evenings. I only drive around 75-100 miles a week and the car will be breaking in a new motor so no snow hooning this season, but im still a little concerned. Option 1 - run the 225/40 on the 8.5" +35 wheel and possibly damage the rim/fender Option 2 - run the spec b stockers with a spacer in front to clear the brembos Opinions?
  4. I was actually quite impressed by the Scat Packs until I drove a 2017 Maro SS 1LE. What a car. Something to be said about that instant power vs. lag lag lag boost. I was all set on a chally scat pack with the 6 speed manual til' i drove the 1LE. Once I break this new motor in, im going to seriously consider one. I have been considering a move to american for the past few years now, but was always afraid to. It needs to be said that the build quality of american cars is no longer nearly as shoddy as it used to be, and companies like subaru really need to rethink their interiors. Long live the 4th gen LGT, but i think it may be time to move on out. I also have been considering a Golf R, but I would only get one in auto, and that just seems, well, sacrilege to me.
  5. car looks awesome - returned my nt03+m for wedssports. had i bought the 18x9.5s instead of 8s i def wouldve kept them. the 8" wide ones didnt have the concave look the 9.5s do. def love all your wheel setups so far. what did you do with the rpfs?
  6. i know its a flex, but fords are known to eplode, hense exploder... i love the flex - if i had kids or a better reason for one, id be driving one right now. instead i just choose to dump my money into a different pos
  7. i just chose to overlook it. they call it the exploder for a reason lol
  8. keep seeing a lgt wagon in the parking garage by barklays - not sure if its anyone on here
  9. ill have to do some fitment testing while the car is off the road anyway - ill have plenty of time before its ready to roll again. thanks for the info!!
  10. wondering if i should be looking for a bolt on spacer then. may need to swap from rear to front on my winter setup (07 spec b wheels) to clear the brembos...
  11. it does thanks - now im concerned about inner clearance with my FA510's... im only +45, and if you are effectively +30 with your spacers - even though im 8.5 and you are 9.5 i may have a problem me thinks... although 25mm to an inch...we may be about the same as far as clearance is concerned Car looks great BTW - ill never go that low with the roads around here but
  12. how do the 255 35s fit, i have a set upstairs waiting to be put on my 18x8.5 +45 wedssport SA10Rs. dont want to pull my fenders, just roll them. I have the caddy brembos also waiting to go on. Just in the middle of a shortblock and head and cam rebuild right now but hope i can get it all buttoned up before winter comes.
  13. had mine for 3 years, no effect at all from AC/Heat
  14. ecotec swap, do it. nice stable is that a prht or just a regular hardtop? super jealous, shouldve bought a miata instead of my 3rd pos lgt.
  15. Go for the new Tacoma TRD pro - best of both worlds, Yota reliability and still a pickup
  16. $1500-$2000 is cheap considering the gains - dont forget you drove a take my money Subaru before enjoy the car, sleeper city. QUIKBRIK would def be my plate if i owned one
  17. Flex FTW! Love these things perfect dadmobile on the weekdays and track "car" on the weekends. These things can get stupid quick with some simple mods No hate here! Fuel mods, downpipes and some E85 love and its 12s all day!
  18. It will now effectively be a +27 offset. I ran 18x8.5 +38 on 225/40 and had to roll on s-techs. 18x8 +35s poke a little, depending on how low the car is you will need to roll and a possible pull. If it were me i'd stay far far away and look for a set that will fit better and fit properly. make sure to reference this thread before you buy anything you will regret - http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/faq-offsets-sizes-rims-and-tires-gt-xenonk-version-closed-4426.html Personally I don't like the whole idea of changing the bolt pattern with spacers, makes me nervous, but if you are set on it go for it. When I was a jeep nut I heard of plenty of people using them when they ran a different rear end, and never heard of any issues with it, but your results may be different. I always kept my stock dana rear end because I never really offroaded too much.
  19. Anyone interested in buying my setup Edit: Post your FS link here
  20. The newer legacies can fit 18x9.5 +38 easier than the 05-09. Id go with the 9.5 setup. If you dont plan on dropping the car you should be able to pull it off with little to no roll. what tires do you plan on running
  21. sold her today, buying a 2008 lgt to replace it. owned it for about 2 months but decided to go a different route for my ultimate goals http://i.imgur.com/992HjO5.jpg http://i.imgur.com/7HEUDNj.jpg
