  1. He is running 93. I need to update first post to reflect this. Perscitus, what octane are you using again?
Also 93 (although I've run 91 and 89 without issue, when forced to upstate). At 87, with the tune, we'll get knock.

My latest mustang dyno plot looks almost identical to ItalianLegacies now! He's got more mid-range torque and no 2/2.5K RPM torque dip plus makes a more consitant power gain up top.

I'm happy to see the plots/slopes follow each other. Its a good sign that the 3.6R tunes are likely doing similar things across the various maps, or at least arriving at like-to-like output :)

  2. For those of us living in concrete and steel jungles with parking problems worse than in France, this is something I recently saw on an XV Crosstrek. On that car (especially any darker color) it looks great! Your mileage and personal preference might vary.

Nice thing about it, is its semi-soft padding that gets custom cut to any body panel and blends right in. Much better than any bumper badger, bully or other similar invention. Peels right off once no longer needed.

  3. Perscitus, are you talking about more air with a stock map or more air with a tune? I'm curious if I should just ditch my original plan doing takeda "as intended" and just do the HKS funnel in addition to the takeda setup for a dyno run?
Paul explained it much better than I did, but I meant more air with a tune. As in, with our engines, we could use more air to be able to make more power.

The stock intake (even with a drop-in AEM and HKS funnel) doesn't seem to provide enough for a tuner to dial-in slightly more aggressive settings that would give more power.

aFe quotes a 15% flow improvement. It will be interesting to see if that's enough to give some meaningful mid-range torque and top-end power.

Would be great if we could get some fabricated intake manifolds or exhaust headers but I think the chances of that are slim to none ;(

Great to see we have this ROMRaider/OpenFlash option now.

Might just work for all 3.6Rs from early 2010s to most recent 2014s.

  4. About 150 for a few pulls or an hour to two of dyno time.

Usually another 100-200 for on-dyno tune.

Giovanni learned a very cool thing from the ESC guys today.

Turns out our cars are short of breath with the stock intake.

There is moarh powha to be had especially from 4K and up with the Takeda and/or another intake if they can flow moarh air the H6 wants.

Impressive gains and very similar torque and hp numbers to what I got, plus a much smoother mid-range torque, with less or almost no torque dip.

Seems like ESC can tune cam timing better than Visconti. I want!

  5. Ahh, the S2000... a car with the strut towers 2ft away from the firewall, a car that actually could benefit from a strut tower bar  Doesn't really look like a master cylinder brace, just a cover on that S2000...
Yep. My good friend has an S2000 and an RX8. Both good cars. Yes, the strut bar Jordan sells now just comes with a firewall shroud but he's made some with an integrated master cylinder brace in the past.
  6. Sounds good Rob. No worries and no pressure on the tune (DO IT!, lol just kidding).

Sounds like the ECU is learning to deal with the extra air and new MAF sensor position/readings well. Should continue to improve over the next 60-100 miles.

See how that goes and what MPGs you get this or next tank.

The smell seems strange, is it in the cabin? When you pop the hood or when you shut her down and stand by the muffler tips (could be car is running a bit richer as it tries to learn the new hardware)?

  7. Jordan of Gladman Performance Fabrication could!

He's even made FSBs with integrated master cylinder braces for S2000s.

Speaking of, he needs someone local or semil-local to WA to stop by so he can build a proper master cylinder brace for us.

3-4 hours of your time once there.

    Any volunteers?
