Well the center baffle is easy enough to
remove if you dont have emissions testing.
As for the shift linkage, what's wrong with it?
Is it just loose? There are a few things you can
do. You can try getting an upgraded stay rod
bushing. I believe that's the name for them. It's
piece #12 on the second diagram. Also, there is
a spring down on the bottom of the first diagram
that is like $1.50 from Subaru that'll tighten it up.
Piece 14 on the first is what I've heard usually goes
bad. It's the little bushings inside of there that tend
to wear out completely. I changed out that on the
2.5RS as it's an entire unit, upgraded the bushings
(#5) down at the bottom...big freakin pain, the
bushings (also number 5 on the shifter itself) and
the spring and it seemed to tighten up my system
a lot. Never tried that piece #12 from Kartboy but
I bought it for my Legacy so we'll see if it works
when I get around to changing out the shifter parts.

Those are actually pretty good diagrams
Nice find, dude.
-
Is it just the taillight or is the side dented?
-
Dang, the car and the rims turned out nice, man
Good find on the center cap too. $40? Fat chance...
-
You're gonna repaint it yourself? Or get someone
to do it? Ninja's turned out awesome and as far as
I know it's still holding up. You'd have to ask him.

Man, make sure the rotation is facing
the right way on those tires. It should
have an arrow built into the sidewall
or say something of the direction of
the rotation. I'm glad to hear everything
went well though. That's awesome, man

USLiberty: That thing looks freakin clean
Congratulations, man.
RonniN: Cool deal, man. How'd it run? Sometimes
these dont run so great in the rain for some reason.
One of mine does, one of mine doesnt.

I love the black intercoolers. Slick looking
and keeps it much lower profile. Looks good
man
I gave my green car a wash once. Once.

you will have to get a special braket for the rear i think kartboy carries them?
And you'll have to get the brackets for
the 05 WRX front calipers too. You can
just use the stock WRX ones. Do you have
ABS or not? If you dont the master cylinder
will probably need to be changed out to
accomodate the extra fluid you'll need.
-
I thought about getting a lighter weight flywheel
since the stock is around 24lbs, but I drive through
stop and go traffic too much for that. Does rev a
lot quicker though.
-
Yeah sometimes depends on the car. could allways get a 1994 134a a/c compressor from junk yard, but whats 5 degrees difference in the end. besides I need one first lol:spin:
Yeah, probably wouldnt make a noticeable difference.
BlackhawkMac:Mine was speeding up tapes. My brothers
91 slowed them down a ton. It was pretty fun riding around
to Rick Astley (this was a few years ago) blasting in slow-mo.
I didnt even bother connecting the antenna in mine. Never
anything on anyway.
92.Legacy.SS: Gotcha. Hard to tell the depth
from the pictures. Pretty sweet setup, man

Got my breaks done the front needed new calipers lol but also got some free wheel spacers!!!
Nice What coil overs are those?
Also, wheels spacers can cause bearing issues.
I'd be careful about using them.
05LGTLtd: Freakin A...I think I did too haha.
Stupid twist-tie...
Congratulations on getting it running again
though

Yeah, thanks. I read up on how to convert to 134a, but I am busy right now and if I can get the dealership to charge the r12 then I will be happy. If it doesn't work, then I will just have to convert.
Getting R12 would be the best because the car
was made to operate on R12. If you put 134 in
there it will never get as cold as it could with 12.
At least that's what I've heard from a few mech.
friends.

^ What he said.
Poor mans wanna be ram air.
Also did valve cover gaskets and picked up another reckless driving ticket on an on/off ramp. 60mph in a 25
Wow. I definitely missed that post in general. My bad.

^^
How come you didnt use the 97 endlinks?
Did they not come on the bar?
-
My guess would be Yakima. At least the
letters on the side look long enough to be.
-
Right? That thing looks nice
-
I always figured it had a small amount of
liquid in there or something to balance it
out a bit. I've never actually taken off
that rubber piece. Either way, a LCP
does at least look a lot nicer.
-
Gotcha. I think the rubber in the middle is a weight.
-
Does the lighter crank pulley rev faster?
And I'd be interested in one of those braces
if you're selling them cheap
-
Nice The TPS is the same as a
Suzuki Grand Vitara, I believe.
Funny how these exchange around.

I see, you painted it up into the bumper.
Looks slick, man.

Is it thin metal or something?
I like the MC brace and I cant
knock those fans...they push a
I've never actually thrown a code

USLiberty: Sweet, man I'll be waiting on that journal.
monster: These things do pretty well off-road. Yes,
even the wagons Sounds like an awesome deal dude!
The car's very clean too.
Also, I got the engine out of the green one.
Cleaned the engine and the IAC. Broke into the
timing and changed the front main seal, front
cam seals, rear cam o ring, cleaned the grounds,
cleaned the engine bay, polished all the AC lines
and really anything that would shine up since it's
all out, cleaned the trans bell housing and probably
some other crap I'm forgetting. Now all that's left is
to take out that clutch fork, polish and grease it and
give it some new clips and drop the new clutch/pp/
tob in there and the engine goes back in
-
Nice Take a bunch of pictures dude. Also
take some of the diff swap for me. I gotta do
my rear gasket and if there's an easy way I
want to know it
You gonna paint it too?
What'd you do to your FIRST Gen. Subaru today?
in First Generation Legacy (1989 - 1993)

Yours has dual exhaust?
And yeah, some of the bushings are
pretty cheap. I believe you could get
most of the bushings done under $100
and it should, should feel like a new
shifter again. Maybe not 5th, but the
ones that are affected by it.
