I have AST 4100 suspension from my 2011 STi. Before I se it will it work with my 2014 Legacy 3.6?
Thanks
I believe there is something different between STI and WRX coilovers. We do know that WRX coilovers fit. Might want to ask Myles or someone else that's knowledgeable on the subject.

Does anyone know of a DIY suspension install thread for a 5th gen?
It's pretty much the same as the Impreza platform. This should suffice.

^^^I think he's talking about the Prokit Plus which comes with swaybars and springs. The front sway bar from the WRX will not work on our cars, so you might as well order LGT specific springs and get your sways from whiteline.
Read that on my phone didn't see the "plus" part. I would do exactly what you just described.

Im thinking of ordering the Eibach Prokit Plus for 08 WRX for my 2010 LGT. From what im reading it should all swap right over? Is there something I'm missing?
I would only do this if they didn't have an application for the 2010 LGT but they do so order those.

sorry, maybe i should have been clearer. I'm comparing the LENGTH of the 2 suspensions. BUT I have found my answer.
Most likely yes the coilovers will be shorter.

Well Subaru didn't put stainless lines on the STi when they gave it Brembos...
Yeah I know but I feel like it's a might as well get the most out of it type of situation.

Spoken by someone who wouldn't be caught dead at an Autox, lol. Buffalo has the only good site left. RIT is small and go kart tracks are only good for go karts and miatas.
Letchworth as well. I suppose nothing is going to compare to the SAD.
-
If you are going to spend the coin on the Brembo setup it seems silly to use rubber lines. Stainless feel so much better.
-
That's it, if I sell this house I'm doing it.
Bwaha
You should bag the car you were planning on bagging in the first place lol.
The Subaru is too much fun as is. There are still plenty of AutoX's going on around here.

Bags are for groceries...
and VW's apparently...
S2 just buy the Tanabe's. Do it you won't lol.

Hmm I bet no one is running these really...830$ is fair pricr, prob better than megans
No one on here is. Impreza people do though.

Anyone here got experience with Ohlins coilover in their Suby? I've heard the ride quality is great. I was asking because while waiting for my Bilstein coils to be release from customs, I saw someone selling a brand new Ohlins coilovers last weekend. I was thinking how it compare with the Bilstein.
Some how I doubt you'll be able to find anyone around here with Ohlins. Probably a few people on Nasioc and IWSTI.

Looking for opinions. I have a little too much bounce with my RCE's and stock struts (particularly in the rear) so I'm looking for a new damper setup. I understand that any 2008 wrx coilover will fit our cars, correct? If that's the case, if you were to choose between Koni Yellows with RCE or H&R springs or KW V1's, which would you choose? I don't necessarily need adjustability if the ride is good out of the box. This will be street use only. Are there other better options i should look at? My price point is 1k - 1.5k.
I've been saying someone should try these. Made in Japan, price point is good, lower spring rates, good reviews on Nasioc.

Still wondering to myself if it would be more intelligent to come up with a stainless hex bolt/nut solution rather than use screws.
Some of you don't have to worry about the front end snow plowing badly in the winter time. I'm pretty sure this would need to come off even with the coilovers raised to max height. Drilling and undrilling twice a year wouldn't really be ideal.

I actually sold my 1998 Camaro SS to a Toyota technician in Binghamton a few years back, it was black with hugger orange stripes.
I miss it, one of the best cars I've ever owned. I never went as far as it looks you have by that picture, but I did put down 400+ RWHP.
Mine is a 98 Z28. Mod list is stupid long now.
-
Do I get extra points for knowing that is a LSx powered car? lol
Sort of.
I'm going to laugh if you are in Rochester and have the same two cars as me.

NEED SOILID ADVICE.
Will the Bilstein
PSS10 Coil-Over Kit
made for the 2008+ WRX fit my '13 legacy?
We know the 2008+ wrx struts/shocks will fit thanks to ScoobyGT, but what about this?
I'm seriously contemplating this rather than hacking a koni insert into the OEM housing and riding around that way...although they are on their way.
Better yet...is anyone running this setup?
They should fit the suspension design didn't change.
At that price level you could go KW V3.
-
Blizzard I am thinking about saying eff it and getting KW's. The Bilsteins are a great value. However, I kind of like the idea of being able to adjust the dampening when I decide I want to tighten up the suspension. In Italy they have cobblestone roads and even on the OEM shocks it sucks. I kind of like the idea of being able to adjust the ride height as well.
If the roads are that bad I say stick with stock until you get back.
-
2-3 weeks isn't that bad. My KW's took a month and a half I think.
-
you think that would work? I know I read that the KW3's fit the 08 WRX's. I just need to use my stock top hats right?
Check out Scooby-GT's thread about WRX struts and this:
-
I wouldn't bother. I'd try retrofitting 08+ WRX Koni Yellows before doing that.
-
Over here the KW V3 rate EURO 1915,- = USD 2500,- excl. installation.
Meh mine were around $2250. It's not that big of a difference.
-
Mine have been fine so far. Think I've put maybe 5-6k on them.
Honestly road conditions may be something that contributes to leaking. Not sure how roads in China are but I don't think these things like massive pot holes or other large road imperfections.

Huh?
Carefully use a breaker bar if you can't get enough leverage.
