  1. I think the GC8's have a center upper hose, but I would imagine you could just run the GC8 upper rad hose. I have seen lots of people with wrx/sti swaps with the center upper hose.
  2. ^WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EJ257 is a semi-closed deck block. BIG difference!
  3. He had a stock internal motor with a larger turbo. Built wrx's blow up every hour at 350whp lol. There is a lot more than just throwing pistons, cams and a big turbo into a motor to making power. One of them that get most is a lack of TUNING!
  4. 350 to the wheels is not going to be easy. You will need a a lot of money to make that happen.
  5. You will need to have the thrust bearing moved from 3 to 5 to make any phase two crank work. I was quoted $250 to have the work done on my ej22t block. The ej25d crank will take more hp then an ej25d block can take lol
  6. I have used OEM and felpro. Had no problems with either. A lot of people use cosmetic headgaskets, but if you car is stock there is no need to spend the money
  7. One is for my current build and the other needs sleeves which I plan to do when I have more time on my hands.
  8. An EJ25D can and will last under boost, a few have done ti and proven it to work. They threw lots of money into the build tho. If I am spending $5k+ on a build I am going to make sure it is built with a strong block. Maybe its just because I hate wasting money lol. This is why my build is being done in an closed deck EJ22, and I may even sleeve it lol
  9. This is true, subarus are one of very few that are on the hub.
  10. Your tone ring is not on the axle, it is on the hub behind the rotor. You have to pull the whole hub apart to replace it tho, kind of a pain. Subaru will sell you a new one, or a junk yard would be cheap.
  11. I think it will work. But go with a good clutch, like exedy, you will thank me later
  12. Did you check to make sure the FWD fuse is not installed? Also make sure the drive shaft is installed. If your AWD was not working and the drive shaft is in and the FWD fuse it not present then you would hear some sort of noise somewhere. Sorry to hear about your headgaskets. If you are doing them yourself there is oodles of info on the forums.
  13. After the long road trip back to Wisconsin the new white subi has 212k on it.
  14. They are subarus tho lol, they all run fine and either have been swapped or rebuilt
  15. 209k on my new white subi, 192k on my 01LGT and 196k on my black one
  16. You could have a sticky valve or a gummed up valve that is not closing all the way. I just did a rebuild where it has similar issues as yours and that was the problem. Do a compression check and try a product called seafoam, search and you will see how to use it properly, I use the PVC valve to pour the seafoam in.
  17. Depends, L and GT/outback have different speedos. And 95-97 and 98-99 have different speedos
  18. 750-800 should be normal. The first line after 0 line is 500RPM. So if it is below that line then you need to get it fixed.
  19. +1 In 1998 they move the canister from the engine bay near the radiator to under the car near the gas tank.
  20. arent you planning on the 5spd swap in the near future? You must document the brake swap if you do them much like this tread. BTW how is everything on the LGT going camron?
  21. I believe abs controllers for auto and manual are different. Atleast I know in the 2nd gens they are.
