the FA24DIT STi is not out yet. And i guess that the accessport work by cobb on the ascent is really just laying the ground work for the 2.4DIT that will apparently be in both the 2022 WRX/STI which is the real market for Cobb.

it will sound like garbage. buy quality parts, don't do hack/ricer mods.

we'll see how the CVTs hold up. my guess is cob releases nothing past a stage 1 flash.

I like everything about this new BRZ and forget the numbers, the real hero spec is the 2.4DIT mated to a 6MT
Subaru needs any and all sources of excitement these days, especially when the GR Yaris is as powerful and overall a better performer than the WRX/STi
we arent getting the GR yaris though.

Hard to find wheels that I want in x8.5 width with that high offset
not really. search tirerack.com under 2004 WRX STI, and you will easily find 30 or more wheels that are 18x8.5 that have an offset of +45 or higher that have the 5x100 bolt pattern needed for your car.

im gonna test drive one when i get the chance. might consider it to be a STX autox platform. will have to read how well it responds to bolt-ons and a tune

well at this point, a 2.4DIT swap will be a piece of cake considering the the legacy/outback xt , and the upcoming STI. the real issue to power upgrades will be the gearbox.

i heard it will be heavier too. FWIW, peak HP was never really an issue for the brz. it lacks enough torque to make it fun. even the old ej20t from the 02-05 wrx would be enough for the brz at that curb weight.

do what the local shop said, and use the spring bolts at the connection that uses the donut gasket.

yes, they make specific aftermarket units for the 3.6R rear end.

When buying a diff, you buy just the rear LSD component and you use your existing ring and pinion. As long as it fits in the housing, you are goout to go with install.

much want for my MX-5, but beaucoup bucks. UD always has quality parts

the 5EAT always had VTD which is better than the system in the CVT or the 5MT, but despite the VDC system, a rear LSD will always be superior in low traction scenarios especially when paired with VDC.
FWIW they do make aftermarket units for the 5th gen rear end last i checked. would make a fun rally-x/snow-x car
