guys, if you go on tirerack.com and search for wheels for the 2004 WRX STI, which uses 5x100 bolt pattern that fits your cars, every result clears the brembos.
happy shopping.

WHOA....... is that THE whitetiger? I heard he left years ago.................
old joke is old. someone will PM you the specifics.

The forum has been like this for 16 years. I know, i’ve been here for 15 of them.
you n00b.

you should be ok. most wheels clear 04 brembos at +45 on a 8.5" wide wheel. enkei PF01s clear brembos at a +48 offest in that wheel size so i think you will have pretty good clearance margins given the NT03RR wheel design

you know, if someone were to create a website that calculated the private party sale, re-sell, and trade-in values of used cars based on their current condition, mileage and options, i think they would have a real great business opportunity. I wonder if such a site exists already.

everyone, PM LegGTLT to confirm site access.

if you got stock replacement, or spec-b and your existing arms weren't bent at all, then yes, you would not need an alignment because no alignment angles would have changed. the upper arm is not an OE alignment adjustment point.
If i were you though, id take the opportunity to install the whiteline KCA399 bushings for the upper arm while you have it out to getrear camber adjustment, and then go get it aligned. these cars don't have OE rear camber adjustments so if you have the opportunity to add it, do so.

I went with Whiteline ones and would NOT recommend it. Only thing I got from it was more NVH and noticed zero handling differences. Little bit more NVH, but not much. Mostly just felt that the ride was stiffer for rear passengers and no benefits.
arms on their own wouldnt give you much of a handling change at all if all else remains the same. and of course, aftermarket arms will have stiffer bushings in them so more NVH should be expected.

There is a legacy.com FB group but I don't have a FB account.
what a gigantic sh1tshow that group is.

the spc arms are for camber and megan arms are for toe adjustments. both are best(why the KTA124 is recommended) since more extreme camber settings may require toe to be adjusted beyond the factory bolt's limits, but its not required if you are running within stock settings and just want to dial in camber more precisely.
the other reason why the KTA124 is preferred is because they use poly bushings instead of spherical bushings. Poly will last alot longer on the street and also conform to certain racing/autox class regulations if you care about that sort of thing.

ah, you had an aftermarket Grimmspeed dogbone. the STI i worked on had the OEM one, which has more play in the bushings. thats why i got away with not taking it out.

they put the 2.0L wrx in GS along with the 210hp civic si turbo and VW GTIs IIRC. Not like the LGT(and wrx) can do much in DS with the EVO/STI/FoRS. STH is really the best place for older turbo subarus that arent STI. at some point all cars go to HS.

you do know that you dont have to remove any exhaust parts/piping to do the engine mounts right? last time i did them was last year on a 2013 WRX STI and I only popped the hood to ensure that when i jacked the engine up, components didnt hit the hood. Didint take the IC off, didnt unbolt the pitch stop, just unbolt the mount nuts, jack the engine up for clearance, and swapped out the mounts.

Group n motor mounts are worth every penny. Takes 30 min to do both.

warranty lingo is often a marketing ploy, but you should get whatever they are offering in writing to make an informed decision.

+1 for timken.
never experienced on go bad on me yet. Ive dont over a dozen on various subarus, and even one on my mx-5.

in the past, subaru service intervals alerts were the sound of rod knock, indicating that short block replacement service was due.
