  1. ecu is a computer. the computer runs software. a reflash is an updated version of the software, programed for the current state of modification/intended fuel use of the car. any aftermarket tune will negate any OE tune put on by the dealership. if your car is modded already, there is no point going to a dealer for an OE tune calibration. just have a pro-tuner get you set up better for what you have now.
  2. The springs are there to keep consistent force on the graphite donut as it compresses over time. you dont need the springs if you've replaced the down and mid-pipe to have a regular flat gasket, or if you dont mind snugging up the joint from time to time. if the flanges are touching after you bolt it up, then the springs arent doing anything anyways.
  3. at 337K i can hear the rod bearings screaming from here. Seller needs to factor in an imminent YNANSBAT as part of his price.
  4. what is your 02 sensor reading? you STFT seems to have leveled out so its probably a very small vac leak, or you could have a clogged injector too where the sytem was able to compensate. if you had a larger leak, the STFT would be pegged as well.
  5. pinks are stiff if you are complaining about bad roads. OE springs will be more compliant. any year spec.b front springs will be fine. you can get rear springs on rock auto for cheap too.
  6. retuning from SEMA with delusions of grandeur. Happens to all car guys in some way. GLW the build.
  7. keep your bilsHD shocks, just put the OE springs back on(will need spec B front springs for even ride height) no need to lift beyond OE ride height.
  8. sanity check for OP. Is this your daily, or are you looking to turn your LGT in to a 1-off project car?
  9. if its RPM dependent and not speed dependent and only under load, then i'd guess its worn out motor mounts.
  10. ^+1 any quality name brand 5w-40 oil you can get for under $30 in a 5qt jug is good enough, including T6. Dump it in and send it for 3-5k mi. rinse and repeat. if you live in cold climates/harsh winters, run a 0w-40 in the winter months instead. thats all.
  11. "getting an alignment" is not specific enough to ensure that the tire will wear properly. post after-alignment specs printout if you want some analysis. most tire shops and dealerships neglect doing the rear alignment properly.
  12. Bad alignments cause tire feathering, not cupping. Cupping is from bad shocks causing the tire to micro-bounce as its rolling down the road.
  13. cupping is from under dampened suspension. OE shocks are not up to the task of higher rate lowering springs. not sure on what options are available for the 6th gen, but if you can do koni sport yellows, that would be the bare minimum.
  14. i had the same mentality till I took the plunge on my '13 allroad. the car is tiptop right now after doing what amounts to a stage-2 tune and i don't miss my legacy or outback. older Subarus are just not comfortable enough anymore for DD duty.
  15. correction- 6mt+quattro didnt come in the USDM, but the quattro did come with the DSG, so thats still pretty good. downpipe+ko4 turbo upgrade and tune and you have one heck of a daily with about 300whp
  16. audi A3 wagon 2.0T quattro 6mt comes to mind
  17. a GR STI hatch is a unique car that does check alot of boxes, but nearly 10 years on since they stopped making it, its not really worth what people are asking for a good quality used one. are you noted, their value is hyper-inflated, and if you already have a LGT wagon with a full STI parts swap, then the question becomes moot since the LGT wagon is more practical. It really comes down to what you want the STI for. A daily, or a fun 2nd car mod platform. But even now there are better cars that are not much more expensive to do that to.
  18. ....and software that can adequately offload as much to the GPU as possible.
  19. LTT may not be everyone's cup of tea, but ill just drop this vid here for you
