Ive been contemplating on selling or keeping my beloved 08 LGT. I did get a hold of Josh Bader since he has great content on youtube and has alot of passion building Subarus. I commented on his channel to see if he would respond, he did and I email him. Awaiting his response and might have found my builder? I have owned my car since 2009 and the second owner since 19k and currently have 142k. Its highly modded and has been pretty good to me since owning. Its definitely time for head gasket repair, so I figure with all the mods I might as well finish her up and get a built shortblock and source a 6 speed. Its been 1 year since its been sitting in garage and gets warmed up here and there. Hopefully everything works out and can get him to do refresh/rebuild. The car literally has every mod done to it and would love to get him to help me finish my project. We shall see what I will decide soon. Thats all I have for now

I took the plunge after speaking with one of our infectious disease doctors at work. I did it to protect my 5 year old and it only felt like someone punched me and felt like a bruise for a 4 days. Im in the same boat as you. Luckily me exwife lets me keep my leggy in her garage for now and I start it up and drive it around every other week or so. Its a tough decision without a doubt. Every time I start her up, and my 5 year old daughter enjoys all the sounds the car makes, makes me think over and over to not post up for sale. I have the full list and price ready, all I have to do is post, but my hands go numb. Probably the better sleeper cars I have built. I regret selling my 02 Lancer OZ Rally and even tried looking for it again. Just dont want to regret a great looking subie and in great condition given its age. Good luck on your decision brother.

Went to AutoZone this morning and bought a Duralast Gold and started her up to make noise in the neighborhood for July 4th weekend. So nice to start her up and drive her around in over a month.

Contacted a reputable JDM engine/trans shop and told them I want a complete 6 speed swap. Going to cost more than a local or USDM sale but will be worth in in my opinion getting a low mileage japanese trans. They said 3 month lead time. What am I doing? I should be selling/parting out my leggy already! Anyone know of someone selling complete 6 speed swap and willing to ship to Las Vegas, do share as I have not been on Facebook for 10 years i think lol.

Made a list of all my mods and holy cow...quite the list. I was used to the increased NVH with all the group n mounts, pitch stop, and blast plates along with other aftermarket bushings and the ACT HD clutch paired with streetlite flywheel. After driving it recently it is definitely 3-4x louder than I was used to. I'm just happy it still drives and alive i guess. Figured it was abnormal sounds. That's just 1st and 2nd gear driving around the block in gated community. Barely hitting throttle. 2008 drive it spirited daily on e85 with STX71 turbo, ELH, GS EWG, catless DP, q300, id1000s, dw65, 3 port ebcs, blast plates, group n mounts, bushings, ACT stage 2 clutch and flywheel etc etc Leaning towards 6 speed swap. I've only driven it around the block up to 2nd gear in my gated community since I cancelled registration/insurance and wasnt sure if I was going to have to push it back in garage lol. I know I am crazy but I know that it is definitely louder than the NVH I was used to hearing lol. It's been time for 6 speed and I have funding for it along with building the block but it's a tough call. I just had sti steering rack recently installed and spec b interior that is partially in along with a long long long list of nice parts. I'm considering getting a cherry picker and stand to do next phase and finish her but it's a rough decision to make and with 141k she tired lol. Thanks for all your input. Alrighty fellas, I recorded video/sound clip of my transmission whining that i was concerned about. It's been almost 1 year since I driven it and driving my super quiet daily honda accord so all these sounds are new to me again hahaha. Send it? Normal sounds? It's got that supercharger whine. Thanks for your input bros! I definitely will keep the car for now because I still love her enough lol. New transmission fluid and drained a little bit and the magnet looks good! I've had all the upgraded mounts and dogbone but it's much louder like supercharger whining. I'll see if I can get a video up. The whining can be heard a half a block away for sure. no...im in las vegas now. had i been in chicago, i would totally drive/fly out. Dont low ball yourself. that 6 speed alone is worth that 3k easily. Time is definitely something i would like more of so i can wrench on my leggy. I was thinking approx 7500 for my car as it is lol. but we both have different issues lol

I always say there are other project cars that we can look forward to but the leggy is super special and sleeper. Thats what makes it sexy!

Took it out for a drive and should have taken video but the transmission has a slight whining sound like its supercharged or that built 5 speed with ppg gears. Just took it around the block several times, got up to 3rd gear and it shifts smoothly and engages normally. It just has that whine. I'm pretty sure it is fatigue and tired. Do chime in as I think it's time to get a new trans or upgrade to 6 speed? Thanks for all your guys input. It was running on e85 for almost 3 years maybe 2 and I did spirit driving 5 days a week on the stx71 (gtx3071r) and all supporting mods yadayada. Dirty dirty really cloudy but not glittery. Look at that buildup on the magnet....damn shop I took it to here in Vegas didnt change my fluid when they did my clutch job. I just finished with my quarantine fellas. It wasnt fun, felt just like the flu with sore back, dry hard cough, and no appetite for the first week. Lost my sense of smell and taste 4 days in. I just knew to keep drinking fluids and went through 2 1/2 jars raw organic honey, tea, lots of ginger, garlic, and lemon. Only places I can think of contracting virus was at Home Depot, Suncoast Casino bowling alley, or local grocery store (La Bonita). I usually get groceries from Amazon and went out more than the usual the week I started getting symptoms. Sleep and rest was my friend and got my appetite back minus the taste and smell. Cleared to go back to work yesterday and felt great to be back and active. I just let coworkers taste my cooking for salt and seasoning adjustments. But I did wrench on my Daily Honda Accord and did front end suspension and flush all fluids.
