  1. See my answers to your question in the quote below:

    Quick question before I order this;

Can I use this aux input to play my XM tuner thru? Yes

Can I make this switchable between the XM and aux input somehow? You will have to switch cables between XM and the other input. Or you may try to find a 2 inputs, 1 outputs selector.

I currently have the XM going thru an FM modulator and the sound is horrible. I want the aux for my I phone, and XM.

Thanks in advance guys, looks like a great product.

  2. @fishbone: I really don't know what's going on there... You are saying that the music sounds good, but not spoken word??? Is it the same source for both?

@Scuba: Does everything else is working fine? Maybe the output level of the audio source is not high enough.

  3. So it was my soldering job. Had someone help me with it this morning and everything worked like a charm. I still lost my CD player but I'm not to worried about it now. Thanks so much man.

Good to know that it's now working. It's strange that your CD player is not working anymore though...

  4. To all, no I'm not dead or in jail, I'm just too busy at work and with the family these days.

However, I'm planning time next weekend to build new units since I have ordered new parts. I'll have boards ready next week! My website is updated so that I can take new orders again.

The kit is the same as before, same price, 115$ CAD shipped anyware in the US.

    Thanks to all!

  5. Hi everyone,

I'm asking myself if I should order parts or not. Let me explain a little. I started the project back in 2008, I've sold many units since then. But now, our cars are old farts, so not many much new request for the modules.

What do you think? Should I take the risk to order parts or not? I don't have the choice to order a good quantity of parts to lower my costs. But I don't want to stay with plenty of unsold boards. Also, I'm missing free time to build and test units...

If I decide to order parts, I will have to have at least 10 buyers that will pay in advance to cover the base costs.

    Any suggestions from the community?

  6. The kit is selling for 100$ (USD or CAN) + shipping. Canada buyers needs to add the PST, GST, TVH and all that sh!t that we are required to give to Harper and Charest so that they can have nice vacations... anyway.. that's another fight.. lol!
  7. The audio cable might be only half way inserted on the aux in module. When installing, make sure that you use the provided ty-rap to prevent the cables from coming out while re-installing the head unit in the car. I suggest that you ty-rap all the cables together with the antenna cable, as this cable is solidly fixed to the head unit. Make sure that the cables (audio and switch) are not stretched, they should have some loose left on them.
  8. I guess i will have to figure it out, that will not hook the ipod up to the new electronic you made. Why did this not come with the kit then if it was well explained? Sorry, i dont mean to be a pita.

Mostly because the price of the cable/ipod-connect-recharging-device is better in the US than here in Canada.

Also, I'm building/desiging electronic modules, I'm not a cable reseller.

If you REALLY want one and don't want to purchase it by yourself, I can ship you one for some $.

  9. Okay i got mine, but how do i hook the apple i pod up to it?

This is well explained in the first post and in the installation manual. However, at a miminum, you need this type of audio cable (3.5mm stereo male/male)

You may also use device that recharges the ipod at the same time, but that is up to you!
