  1. For now I have no plan to build more. However if the demand is still there I might reconsider and order new parts.

I also heard that there are some available on the used market so you can have a look there too!

  2. I ordered Sebastien's Leptronix aux-in board and it arrived within a week and it is now installed in my 2006 Legacy GT. Notwithstanding my initial trepidation at ripping the guts out of my OEM head unit/HVAC system and my less than stellar soldering skills the install went reasonably well. The instructions were complete and a big help.

The aux-in board works exactly as advertised and the sound quality is, in my opinion, equal to or better than CD quality. Best of all there is no "silent" CD required and I can now listen to the 32GB of tunes on my BlackBerry without having to resort to carrying dozens of CDs and doing my best DJ impersonation. A side benefit is that when receiving a phone call my Q10 pauses the music and I can take a call with the caller's voice playing through my stereo and the mic on the phone. It's a handsfree unit too! It will make the road trip next week from Bellingham down to Scottsdale a blast.

Thanks, Sebastien for a quality product and for great customer service. I am so pleased with the product that I have another aux-in ordered for our FXT.

Sebastien, merci pour un produit étonnant - c'est le meilleur sur le marché asteur (guess i haven't forgetton all of my high school french yet!

    Bez

Bez, I specially like your Quebec french knowledge! That's funny to see "asteur" coming out from an english speaking person! :lol:Would like to hear that!

  3. Alright, I've narrowed it down to the line output on my ipod classic (dock connector - > 3.5mm cable). Nothing else in the chain causes the audio to cut out, and it only happens with the ipod once per morning. I'm guessing that it has something to do with that port also able to transfer power and maybe shorting something? Is there any way to ground a 3.5mm cable? It's pretty annoying since the line out audio quality is so much better than the headphone jack's. Any ideas Sebastien?

It looks like there is an impedance problem with your ipod dock connector. You may find the not very helpfull, but maybe you should just use the headphone output from your ipod? I don't believe there is so much difference in sound quality vs the dock connector.

You could also try to use a 12V powered ipod dock instead, it will charge you ipod at the same time!

  4. It'll actually cut out the radio audio even when I have the switch set to bypass, and won't transmit any audio regardless of switch position until I restart the engine. I'll try it with the DAC out of the system for a few days and see what happens.

Okay. That's strange... Let me know how it goes.

  5. No worries about the email! I'm going from ipod to battery-powered DAC to head unit. It cuts out without having anything plugged into 12V. It's also not consistent - it didn't do it this morning. It's been doing this since day 1, although again inconsistently and only on cold starts in cold temps (seemingly). If you think the source could be an issue, I will do some more trial and error - I'm trying to move away from the ipod anyway because the interface and DAC is trash. I really appreciate the help, I started school as an electrical engineer and let's just say it wasn't for me :)

Ok good. First we need to isolate the problem, and for that we should go a simple as possible. Could you try plugging the ipod headphone output directly to the auxin input (without the external DAC)?

Can you switch back to radio when you are having the problem or not?

  6. Scrambles, I don't remind having read your email. Maybe it went straight to the junk box...

I don't really know why you are having those problems with your unit... Did you plugged your ipod into the 12V outlet when you are using the aux in?

For how long have the aux in board been installed? Did it always had that problem or is it doing so since a short period of time?

Did you try with a different source? Like a Samsung phone, a bluetooth device or a sat radio?

I'm willing to help you but you need to provide more details.

  7. Up! I'm still making new units, but I wont make them anymore once I have depleted all the parts that are in stock. The ordering rate is pretty low now, so once, which is understandable given that the cars are getting quite old.

For those of you that are looking for a aux-in solution in their 2005-06 LGT, this is the best solution available!

After that, I need to find a new idea of product for the 5th and 6th generation!

  8. It's almost summer! Plenty of nice weather to come to install you aux unit in your car :)

Guys, I'm still making new units, so don't hesitate to order yours!

Right now I have units in stock and ready to go!

  9. @mambi: You probably have a bad connection on the connectors inside your head unit. You should verify and clean the connectors between the main board and the front control board. Did you try to press on the front of the unit to see if anything change?
  10. I have a 2006 outback H6 with the 6 disk and automatic climate control. will it work, and is this the same as the XT instructions, no muting circuit modification needed?

The H6 head unit is the same as the one of the XT. Same installation as the LGT too!

  11. Usually I try to have a small quantity in stock, between 5 and 10 units. But the sales were slow for the last month or so, so my stock is low too!

I have received orders recently, I will ship them as soon as I get back home, in 1 1/2 week... Yeah I know, this is in a long time... I will send emails to buyers about that delay.

  12. While on radio mode, you hear mixing between the AUX in and the tuner in the radio. Is this not normal operation?

That is not right! You are supposed to be able to use the aux in while in radio mode, this is the purpose of the yellow wire! You should check your soldering of the yellow wire that goes from the aux-in module to the main pcb of the head unit. Make sure to follow the instruction carefully.

I'm pretty sure that the wire is not soldered to the correct component pad. Check that out quickly since you may damage your unit by doing so.

Good luck and keep me in touch!

  13. You probably have a loose connection somewhere. Did you verify that the flat cables are fully inserted? One may have come out when reinstalling the cd changer if it wasn't fully inserted.

Also, what kind of noise do you have? Is it whinning noise only when the car runs or you have a noise even with the car turned off? Is it only when the aux-in is active? Did you try the aux-in input while your headunit is on the radio AND when it is on CD player?

More info would be appreciated. If you think your unit is bad, send it back to me and I'll send you another one.

  14. Are you sure that the connectors in the back are all installed and well clipped? Also, sometimes the front panel is not fully inserted into the main board, check that as well. Finally, does your fuse have blown?
