  1. My heads arrived at their shop January 15. The week before they quoted a 5 week turnaround time. At that point they had also just released their staged cylinder head packages. I called to check the first week of March and was informed there would be a 2 month delay with April 23 as the new target date. Apparently they had received nearly 200 pairs of cylinded heads, including mine, in the 1-2 week period from when they quoted my turnaround time as 5 weeks. As of early March they only had one guy who does the machining for heads. They were hoping to hire another but obviously that isn't a position that anybody could walk right into with no prior experience. In 6+ years of dealing with IAG, they have always offered top notch customer service. It's disappointing that this has dragged out but some things are beyond control of both the customer and shop. I had a previous experience with them on an install/tuning that went longer than expected and into the following day. These things happen and you just have to ride the wave sometimes. I also had an idle issue on my 5th gen that popped up out of nowhere back in 2015. On three separate occasions, I spent a day up there for them to test and trouble shoot including many hours on the dyno. There were easily 20 man hours spent on that and I eventually left with about a $500 tab after a fuel pump install and conversion to hybrid tuning with MAF and speed density. I felt like that was beyond fair given all the time spent. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  2. As of two days ago they are still on target to finish the heads April 23. I'll believe it when they show up at my doorstep. If that happens it should be up and running by the first week of May. Need to get some break-in miles on it and see what I can figure out on fab work to get the hood scoop and splitter to fit the N/A Legacy hood. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  3. Projected date from IAG on the heads...drumroll..... April 23 WTF!!! Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  4. Intake manifold and exhaust parts are back from coating. Still no update from IAG on the heads. Tuesday 2/26 will mark 6 weeks that they've had them. They were inspected on Monday 2/11 so I would think they must be close to being done. But no update from IAG yet.
  5. UPDATE: All parts should be back next week. IAG started tear down and inspection on the heads Monday. They will require a little more work than initially expected. A crack needs to be welded, a thread needs to be repaired with a Timesert and valve guides will be replaced. When all the stage 2 stuff was installed I noticed a bolt was broken off in the back of the right side head where the turbo bracket mounts. Apparently there is also a crack near that area. And no surprise on the valve guides with 170k miles. Oh and the cam bores required polishing. Intake manifold and exhaust parts should be finished by this Friday or Monday. Intake manifold will be ported to match IAG TGV deletes and coated. Busted Finger Motorsports is taking care of that. Header, uppipe, EWG dump tube and front section of downpipe are at Swain Tech for white lightning coating.

  7. Heads were shipped to IAG yesterday. New clutch purchased for Baja. I will use the same that was just installed in my 5th gen...South Bend stage 3 daily. Hopefully it will be running by the end of February. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  8. Dropped off for tear down today. Turn around time on the heads was quoted at 5 weeks so it will be a waiting game for a while.
  9. I have experienced excellent customer service at IAG over the years. Jorge tuned my car twice (back in 2013) and Cleo tuned it once in 2014. Jorge no longer tunes there. Cleo is still tuning there regularly. Junior usually comes once a month for a few days as well.
  10. Stage 2ish was the plan until the oil consumption issues popped up. If the motor is going to come out then why not? Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

  12. Baja Turbos have the same heads and cams as single AVCS STIs. GSC S1 cams have more lift and duration than stock cams without requiring any additional machine work. S2 and S3 require clearancing and wouldn't be very beneficial for my setup given the turbo size and power goal. Also, you wouldn't get the full benefit of S2 or S3 without porting the heads, etc.
  13. Don't you worry, I've had a set of IAG TGV deletes sitting around for months now. My most recent decision was to add a set of GSC S1 cams to the build.
  14. Not much to add at the moment. I have all parts except the short block in hand. I will take advantage of IAG's once-a-year Black Friday sale and save 10% on the block (assuming they do that again this year). I've been a little preoccupied the last little bit so time to work in the garage has been limited...getting married today! I need to button up a few things on the Legacy so it's ready to drive when the Baja is down. I expect it will be a month or more until the Baja build is complete. IAG quoted 3 weeks turn around time for the head work. Swaintech white lightning should be a similar time frame. It will probably push the tuning into January since we are taking a honeymoon the last 10 days of the year. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  15. Oil consumption fluctuated a lot prior to installing Grimmspeed AOS. It's probably around two quarts every 3k miles now. Prior to adding the AOS, it was more like a quart every 500. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  16. Bad news: it has been consuming substantial amounts of oil the last 6-8 months. Compression and leak down tests were performed and revealed no abnormalities so mostly likely worn rings. Cylinder 4 plug showed obvious oil burning. Good news: started assembling fuel system parts to convert to top feeds. Will order IAG stage 1 plus block in the next month or two. IAG will go through the heads and do any necessary machining, etc. Probably going with Blouch Dom 1.5XT-R with standard inlet and 8cm hotside. Spool and low end torque are my priority while shooting for mid to upper 300s at the wheels. The only other item I need to decide on is a clutch and then it'll be off to my buddy's shop for tear down. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
  17. A little info on the Recaro I put in a couple years ago. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/ebo03s-2011-lgt-bnr-20g-ewgs-custom-fmic-brembos-recaro-207234p32.html
  18. Oh sorry, I have his cell #. I guess I've been in touch with him for about a year about producing 5th gen plates. His email for PayPal is vincentcooldahl@yahoo.com if you want to get in touch with him about buying a set. The first post of this thread has his gmail address as well.
  19. Got mine ordered the other day. You boys better pony up. As with all other 5th gen specific parts, these may be a very limited quantity.
  20. Easier for the tuner, easier to log, and a few more capabilities in the tuning platform.
  21. Yes, I would prefer a complete kit too. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
