  1. ugh just got my vagcom cable today and started logging in RR. very confused even from reading just this thread. i plan on reading more, but in the meantime, is this log cause for concern? outside air is about 82F i believe, in nyc, so altitude is just a tiny bit above sea level. this is a WOT 3rd gear pull from about 1700RPM up to 6800. the only thing done to the car is a Cobb AP stage1 93 octane map. it looks like there's knock...? also, sorry if i'm missing some parameters. i already ran out to the car, but i think i got most of the important ones. the "roughness" ones look useless... so i guess i'll remove that? thanks in advance. romraiderlog_20090715_120602.csv
  2. why do you say that? boxer rumble not audible? it says mufflers only... so no center piece and Y pipe either. maybe that's it... *shrug* i don't have a very good ear for this stuff.
  3. don't believe so. it says the exhaust is stock so i'm assuming it's mufflers only.
  4. here you go, someone linked it in my thread. http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2521494&postcount=14 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zUJC5jzjtY]YouTube - AVO's dual rear mufflers on a Subaru Legacy wagon turbo[/ame] it says mufflers though, not a full catback, so....
  5. ^-- from my thread. this sucks. wonder if that would've happened with 55W bulbs.
  6. hrm maybe i won't bother then... i don't even remember what the old lights looked like. they weren't focused either huh? no cutoff?
  7. yeah, i might have to do that. pain in the ass to swap foglights in and out. plus i have to dig around to find the old ones. doh.
  8. note: aiming yellow foglights is extremely difficult because yellow appears to disperse/scatter a lot. i have H3 Gold's from Daniel Stern (candlepowerinc.com). i can't even see where the top edge of the foglight beam is. (yes, i did cover my headlights)
  9. just wanted to point out that the Osram 65W H7 bulbs mentioned in the first post is on sale at http://www.candlepowerinc.com for $19.99. They're normally $26 or so I think.
  10. man i'm still months away from doing a full tbe, but just came across this thread. this is great. question for some of you: does the dp make that big of a difference in exhaust sound or is it mostly the catback? will something like an individa catted dp sound basically the same as a cobb catted dp if they both are using the same cbe? tia for the reply, and thanks for this awesome thread!
  11. if your high arc is 5' off the ground at 30', that means your low arc is off as well and your lights aren't adjusted properly.
  12. flickering? maybe the bulb isn't installed properly, which would explain why the alignment is way off.
  13. hey, is your AP still for sale? i'm in nyc and interested. just to confirm, is it this one?

  14. Yokohama Avid W4S Bought a set from tirerack recently for $101 each. Size 225/45ZR17, 91W. Falls under the ultra high performance category from them. These replaced my OE Bridgestone RE92s, which look like they've been on since the car was bought. I have just under 40K miles my 05 LGT 5MT, and I'm in NYC. Recently got these as a replacement for the OE Bridgestone RE92. Noise has improved somewhat. The remaining noise in the car I attribute to to the car itself, not the tires. I've noticed some increase in tramlining, but am unsure if it's the tire itself, or the fact that I went from a 215 to 225 width tire, or a combination of both. Car feels more responsive. In light snow, I had no problem getting around, but I'm sure some of it has to do with my car's AWD. Haven't had any experience in deep snow yet. In rain, the car feels more confident than my OE tires also, and under hard braking, the tires are less likely to lock up and cause the ABS to activate. Overall, I am happy with the tires, but I may change my mind after I'm completely settled into my car and start driving it much harder than I am now. Will post an update later on. I have to say that the price of these makes them very attractive. Will post an update some time later in the year when I have something to add.
