You can keep the FW stationary using a flathead screwdriver. I had a piece of metal wire sitting around and made a band which I looped around the pegs on the fw and the engine block. I would not file down the turbo. It'll require some patience, but the trans will come out. A second set of eyes is a great asset.

Usually when I'm out there it's for work and I'll be in one of my work trucks. The LGT doesn't go very far these days since I moved within a mile of work.
