  1. I mean no offense to anyone; I'm trying to allay the OP's MOST LIKELY unfounded fears. It sounds like you're projecting your issues onto the situation in a very unhelpful way. The OP has not reported an actual issue, nor any actual indications that the CVT is slipping. He THINKS he did something that is considered bad for CVT's (flooring it) and is possibly projecting that guilt. I remember learning to drive stick on my gramma's old Ranger. I lugged and stalled it so often, I was sure I had broken something. If you've ever jerked hard to a stop and stalled and didn't know any better, you'll know exactly the terror my young mind felt. I was sure I heard things that weren't there and worried I was in deep dog doodoo when grandpa noticed something out the ordinary that was surely MY fault...that is, until I realized that the noises were already there and my few mistakes did not break anything. Finally, there's a huge difference between thinking you did something wrong (that is not wrong) and projecting that guilt, and someone like you, who had ACTUAL issues. If the OP comes back and gives more information that leads us to believe that there's an actual issue, then fine. To scare him into thinking something is wrong because of flooring it? Absurd and unhelpful...
  2. I think you're perceiving a change, because you THINK you did something unusual and bad to the CVT, which you did not. You're getting into you own head a bit here, is the answer.
  3. Awesome that you don't have a problem with drone. How do they sound at WOT?
  4. Agreed. I never want to be surprised so I keep a spread-sheet of available Group 24, 25 and 34 batteries offered by the majors that I update every few months. It's interesting that some will offer a lot of information while others offer almost none.
  5. Your Nameless deletes don't look to be centered. Are they touching the bumper on the outsides? I had a Nameless ABE (with 4" mufflers) on my previous '08 STI and by God were they awful! They had incredible amounts of drone at lower RPM's and around-town driving, but provided almost zero additional grunt while getting on it, which was I was really hoping for. I had to get rid of them after only a few months of trying to get used to them!
  6. Thanks for the info! How common are Group 24 batteries. When I need a new battery I'd prefer to go after that extra 70 cubic-inches of space for more lead. I've checked online, but not locally to determine how available each size really is. For reference (and why the OP says you need a 1" space to lift the group 34 battery to make it a group 24. Group-----L/W/H/in^3 24-----10.3/6.8/8.9/623 34-----10.3/6.8/7.9/553 25------9.1/6.9/8.9/559 Note: Stock Group is 25
  7. I don't get how new endlinks would make much of a difference. Were your stock endlinks blown or rattling badly?
  8. Who would complain that an MT Subie was FI!? Subaru is more likely to offer a sporty Legacy with an MT than an E-version. Subaru will always be behind the eight ball when it comes to E-anything....
  9. If the next-gen LXT (or some Spec B variant) is ever offered with an MT, it will be my next car. If not, then I may go for a OBXT in five years or so.
  10. Doesn't sound as terrible as I thought it would. It's no EL header sound, but it doesn't sound like a fart cannon, either.
  11. Installed new LED lights from DiodeDynamics: 1. Backup: XP50 White 2. Fogs: SLF Yellow 3. Vanity Mirror: SMF2H Warm White I'll report back tomorrow how noticeable the fogs are on dark roads. I've already replaced all interior lights and the door puddle lights with DD LED's
  12. Neither my previous STI nor my current came with a front plate holder. I ended up installing a Subtle Solutions bracket where the front tow hook goes. For the Legacy, I bought a nice holder for the stock location (required drilling, backed up with sticky tape) and it looks really nice. What is actually holding your plate to the bumper? Did you drill holes and zip-tie it? I don't think we have hole for a front tow-hook, do we?
  13. I used to do the same thing. It took me all of a few months to get used to the reverse screen...jealous??? I know what you mean about the difference in screen size. I still look at all three mirrors while reversing with my wife's '14 Forester, it's that freaking tiny. I admittedly do the same thing in my '15 Legacy, but 75%+ of my attention is on the screen.
  14. Interesting. Mind elaborating? Heating up which joints? Remember, reefer joints don't count, brother!
