  1. mweiner if you are willing to take hwy 36 to Sheridan we can meet at 80th & Sheridan and then head down to 58th & Sheridan to get E85 there. Not too much out of your way, really. Then we can head to the super secret track.
  2. Just filled up at Western in Thornton - $2.69/gallon!
  3. I think there is an E85 station in south Arvada. I'd meet you there and fill up a gas can or two. I'll have to look it up - I haven't been there.
  4. I might. It's 19 miles from my house. As far as a convoy, I'm coming from Westminster... do you still live off 287 in Lafayette?
  5. Okay I'm ready. Just bought a helmet from Sun for $99. Good enough. I then went and changed my oil with Royal Purple (figured I'd give that a try) and filled up with E85. That should leave me ~3/4 tank by Saturday. If you pass me it's only because I am rationing fuel.
  6. Got my email. Was very surprised to hear that the state patrol is closing the mousetrap to allow us to race drive laps. Good thing, too, since I have plenty of practice going WOT from westbound I-70 to northbound I-25. Anyone know where to get a cheap helmet? The uglier the better.
  7. How much gas are you going to burn?? Wouldn't a full tank from your favorite gas station more than cover it? I'm definitely going E85 that day and every other day. BTW, when you got your Fastest Outback 13.77 were you running E85? Curious... I think I'll come close to that now.
  8. Did you ever get a dyno pull after converting to E85?
  9. Alright guys, just 4 weeks until the track day. I'm getting excited as it's my first time doing any track driving or getting any driving instruction (other than the "slow down" from my wife or the "do you really have to do that?" kind of stuff). Anyhow, I know mwiener2 and collegemt are signed up... 54 cars in total... any other members here? Do you guys have any "to-do" items prior to the day? I'm changing fluids, checking brakes, and will need to do some final tuning on my IIe setup. For tuning I'll be looking into tip-in and post-shift boost response.. that's about it. I won't be doing any suspension mods. I anticipate being in the 10th-20th percentile as far as racing around the track. I would have to think that at least 2/3 the cars are faster than mine and that at least 2/3 the peeps have done this before. I don't care though as I plan on having a blast. I hope I can pass someone at least though.
  10. Found the business card regarding paintless dent repair: http://i30.tinypic.com/b7c4lf.jpg
  11. For paintless dent repair there is a guy in the service garage at Go Honda (104th & Federal) that does some nice work. Our garage door closed on the back of my wife's Honda and left a 6-inch shallow crease in the decklid. He took it out for $50. It looks perfect - literally perfect. Later I took my car to him to have 3-4 small dings taken out. Again, nice work and $50. You can just stop in any time. He mainly fixes up the used car lot, and if you drop in he'll just put his current car aside and take care of you. When I get home I'll look up his business card and post details.
  12. If it's only 65lb, then that's not real significant. I've seen the "200 lb." number thrown around quite a bit on here. Aren't power seats in the Ltd. also?
  13. Only in '05 were the rarest models made. No, not the Spec B's - those are made in every model year and outnumber the '05 non-limiteds. The '05 "Unlimited" is lighter than the others.
  14. Ugh just finished doing mine. Old plugs with 52k looked good as far as I can tell. My biggest problem was the plug socket became really stuck on the newly installed plug on the passenger side rear. I spent 25 minutes with trying to get the socket off the plug. My other major problem is that I did not any appopriate 2" extension and had to use a universal where a 2" extension would have been MUCH easier to work with for plug removal and install. I think a 2" extension is key. It took me 3 hours including battery and intake removal and reinstall. Started engine and took it for a drive. No detectable difference from before, which is a good thing, I suppose. I put in the NGK 6619's (LFR6AIX-11).
  15. I'm in. Who else? My goal is 14.39 and I'd like to get 4-6 runs in.
  16. Nice work, mwiener... and thanks for the info.
  17. I picked up my car last June and spent all summer concerned about the ride height being too low for winter. It has Tein S-Techs. I had even posted that I would give the S-Techs away if someone helped remove them for me and put on H-Techs. Winter has come and gone and the low ride heighth was really a non-issue as it turns out. It certainly didn't stop or slow me down at all and did nothing to compromise safety. My bumper did not become a snow plow. Granted I didn't get up into the hills often, but for around-town driving the low ride with snow was no problem (especially with AWD and dedicated snows). I've really come to love the way the car looks sitting on the S-Techs. However, I don't enjoy having to slow down for some road-bridge transitions, etc. In sum, I think for the money the best compromise considering dollars, practicality, looks, and performance, H-Techs might be the way to go.
  18. I just bought 225/40/18 Kumho Ecsta MX's on Thursday. I've put about 30 miles on 'em and am liking them so far but I haven't put them through any real challenges yet. I bought them through Discount Tire (special order). And to think my wife thought I accelerated hard out of corners with the snow tires on...
  19. Really? Was it your first time going? I might consider trying the intermediate if it's an option... I definitely want instruction "from the beginning" though.
  20. I'm really psyched about this. I'll definitely be in the beginner group.
  21. Whoa looks like a friggin' blast! I just signed up also.
  22. Damn. I only work one in 3 weekends but I work that Sunday. Get some pics at least. Out of curiousity anybody else live up north (Westminster/Broomfield)? Mwiener is in Lafayette 15 minutes away... the closest to me from the guys on here I think.
  23. Is the idea simply to bring boost on earlier in the rpms (i.e. - increasing the boost AUC without increasing peak boost)?
  24. My Jazzy is just fine actually. Good grief there are 2 volume controls on my pocket pc... the one on the screen reads 100% but the more hidden (master volume) was only at 25%. So... great product after all - I am happy.
  25. I installed this today. Installation was pretty easy. The instructions for the pro kit should mention to install the GLI plug to the aux-in board (rather than the male-male cable). Ooops. No big deal I just wasted about 15 minutes. EDIT - The volume level is just fine... my aux-in has two volume controls and one of them was turned down - disregard below the volume is good. Anyhow, I am not too thrilled with the volume level. Even with the stereo at 40 (max volume) I would not say the sound is loud. I will be listening to podcasts and I hope I can actually hear them with my somewhat droning exhaust/DP. The volume of other CDS and radio volume are unaffected as far as I can tell. When the aux-in source (100% volume, by the way) is playing with volume level 40, it's comparable to the other audio CD's at volume 20-25.
