  1. Went back to Terry for the 3rd year in a row to keep my LGT looking new. Took care of one tricky shallow 2" round dent and the only door ding I got since last year. He is contracted with the GO car dealerships and is in all parts of town. Tell him I sent you!
  2. Got the VF52 out. Biggest pain by far was a DP-to-exhaust bolt that I spent over an our on and thought I'd have to cut off. I finally got the damn thing off and went and got 2 new bolts and nuts. Second biggest pain was getting the DP off. I could not slide it out of the tranny hanger because the still attached DP O2 would hit the heat shield over the exhaust. I ended up cutting away a little of the heat shield so the DP could slide to the side out of the hanger. I cleaned everything up and will install the BNR turbo in the a.m. Here is a couple pics of my install. I only included pics that were different from what msprank already provided. I used my overhead garage shelf to tie up the inlet as high as it would go: http://beeez.com/lgt/install1.jpg In addition I crossed a couple cables over the turbo. I figure I can use these as "helping hands" to suspend the turbo while installing, if needed. I doubt I'll need them but figured it might be nice: http://beeez.com/lgt/install2.jpg I definitely needed to put all 4 corners on stands as high as my floor jack would go. I was tempted to get out my 20-ton bottle jack and go higher, but this we just enough to be reasonably comfortable. http://beeez.com/lgt/install3.jpg
  3. ^^ Makes sense to have a single copy. Nonetheless, some stickies to link off-site would be very nice for this forum.
  4. Your "how-to's" are awesome, NSFW. I think the mods in this forum really ought to sticky a couple of them (maybe if you posted them here also they would??)
  5. Good job. I don't usually find humor in mods, but I like yours.
  6. Best tuner in the state. Hands down.
  7. He is doing mine right now while I eat lunch. Still $193 installed, after tax, for the heated version. He arrived with 3 options on the molding - 1) $65 factory molding, 2) re-use existing, or 3) fab some molding. I opted for #3 since he said he would do it free of charge and I didn't like my old molding because it was wavy. I'll report back in a week on how I like it.
  8. I agree with NSFW's statements. Post another LV in a week or so without resetting the ecu. This one had not fully set up, as evidence by 2 AF learning of 0.0. (I have a lot of time/iterations on my intake scaling and while my values are very close to zero, they are never 0.0 after more than a week of driving).
  9. Oh. I figured the bag helped by melting plastic onto the TMIC and effectively adding cooling fins. Dammit.. I even read the instructions on the bag and it didn't say to take the ice out.
  10. I iced down my TMIC last time I went to the dragstrip. I got around 10 runs in and only had ice on half of them and my times weren't any better with ice on the TMIC. I almost always drive to the hoses after the turn-around and spray down my TMIC, turbo heat shield, and DP. Who knows... that might be a waste of time too.
  11. Lemme know how that goes and if the guy travels up this way. If he also window tints, that would be a huge plus. Need my Jeep fronts tinted.
  12. No way man. I'm not tuning anyone else's car. I've only tuned ONE car and guys will come along and do at least as well as me. I'm happy to offer critique on logs but honestly there are other guys that are better than that than me. And another VF52 made 10whp MORE than me.. which is great because it both gives me motivation to tweak my tune and also shows that good VF52 power can be duplicated.
  13. I'm totally in next time too. Great venue for a meet. The guys from the south can meet the guys from the north at Starbucks on 120th for a spirited 15-mile 3-lane run up to the dyno. That was fun too. Nice not having any traffic. Forgot how cool Harvey was too... good guy.
  14. Probably going but I've got a busy day unfortunately and not sure if it's going to work out. I'm shooting for mid-afternoon.
  15. Yeah you are right about that. It's the Saturday.
  16. No.. we are hosting both sides of the family for Christmas Eve and Christmas too.. (ouch!) so we are getting prepped for that. I was working 1/1 but now I'm off so I'm considering motoring up to 5250 for a while for the dyno day. I don't know if anyone else from here is going but I'm just a "tentative" for now. I've taken good care of your LGT. Got in a little guardrail collision up front last winter so new aftermarket grill and bumper cover. Looks great, like new. Bought dedicated 17" snows and rims. UP/DP, TMIC, E85, VF52. 12.89@107.2mph and several 12.9's. Great for a fast spooling turbo with no top end. 67k miles, body/interior doesn't look a day older than when you sold it to me at 44k miles. Still love it and will keep it a few more years.
  17. Lemme know what you find. I want to get one after winter. Mwiener remarked what a shitmine my windshield is.. no cracks but it's really pitted. I had my Wrangler windshield replaced (guy came to me) this spring. It was cheap..
  18. I went out and beat my old time. This time it was 17F warmer and I ran a little more boost and paid attention to tire pressure. Oh yeah, I put a new OEM paper air filter in my stock intake too. http://beeez.com/lgt/1289at107.jpg Corrected via dragtimes.com for 5860' and 80F to sea level it's 12.23@112.32mph. 19. That sounds awesome, gg! My wife and I are very interested in doing the Lake Powell houseboat thing... we will be shooting for our first trip in 2010 or 2011 and need to figure out how big of a group to get together.
  20. Quit egging me on. Oh wait, pass me some of that kool-aid... ahhh.. better.. okay now commence selectively ignoring data. Ignore, blame tuner, blamer driver, blame dyno. Okay data ignored. Check. Cheerleader outfit. Check. Got it! Now let me try it... "The HTA68 is faster!!" Oh man, that feels good. I should have done that a long time ago.
  21. ^^ Nice, that VF52 is just a hair quicker than a lighter car 310whp HTA68 on the same dragstrip (13.07 @ 105.5 ). I know I'll be chastised for bringing in real world data. Ooops.
  22. Very nice stage 1e run, biz77...especially the 60'! Did you have other launches that good? Tell me what you are doing... I can't seem to do better than 1.90.
