  1. I just thought that was from all the powa I had in my car:lol: The only time I lock down the center diff is when I am getting on the dyno:p
  2. You would need a lot mroe than what is on page 1. Look for threads where people went from an auto to manual setup. You will need the pedal assembly, clutch master/slave cylinders, etc on top of everything on page 1.
  3. I have a 04-05 STi stay rod and shifter rod and it puts the shifter in the center of the console.
  4. It is basically a 5mt casing stuffed with an extra gear. I hear it is worse than the 5mt that is in the 05-09 LGT.
  5. My car made 580whp on race gas and 475 on pump and drove around on a 6MT LGT daily without any problems. I do have the R180 rear end and Spec B rear axles but the only thing that isnt Subaru OEM is the cluth disc and pressure plate. The FW is even a stock STi. Can I break this tranny? I am sure if I drove it like a jackass daily with race gas...but 95% of my driving in this car is just cruising in traffic with a few hard pulls or launches here and there. I am sure this tranny will be fine for about 99.9% of the people on this board.
  6. So if I wanted to use a Weldon pump or a Fuel Labs pump, would it be best to wire it to a relay and let it run at 100% all the time or hook it up directly to the factory wiring? According to fuel labs, you can run their pumps without an external controller and it can be run on the factory wiring. I dont know how true that is.
  7. NASIOC, Ebay, SVX Forum, car-parts.com, and other various places. I stumbled across my tranny on the svx board. SOmeone bought it to rebuild to put in an svx but never got around to it. He sold it to me for $900 shipped and I spent another $400 to get it fixed. Driveshaft was under $100 shipped from car-parts.com, etc....the only thing I had to buy new were the rear axles. I got them for around $600 a pair new.
  8. I got my complete STi 6MT swap for under $3k easily. You just have to be patient and start buying things when you find them at a good deal. I had the majority of my swap sitting at home for almost a year.
  9. Thanks Tytek but I think you missed the more current numbers on my car. http://legacygt.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2842995&postcount=109 Yeah, that is kind of funny how we were both so excited about our numbers at TopSpeed two years ago.
  10. Very nice. I am guessing you have an EJ22 block? What kind of dyno was this on?
  11. Dont listen to this guy, he is a tool:) jk...welcome to the legacy family:)
  12. Does it matter? I thought you could use your R160 rear end with the Spec B tranny?
  13. Get the 6MT swap. There is no sense in putting in another 5mt that will eventually fail. www.car-parts.com is your friend:)
  14. Do I need an a/t driveshaft from a gt auto wagon? DOn't know if a GT would work, you need an auto wagon driveshaft from any 4eat car. Mine came off of just a plain Outback 4eat. Do I need A new STI master cylinder and shift fork or is this necessary. No master cyclinder but you do need the slve cylinder. Yes to the STi shift fork Do I need a new crossmember? No but you do need a 6MT rear tranny mount. You are missing a lot...keep reading this thread...all the parts you will need are in here.
  15. I can confirm. I swaped the NSS and Reverse switch to the 5mt switches this weekend and no more NSS CEL. I also have reverse lights again and a dccd manual controller so I can lock the center diff and get my car re-tuned:) Thanks again for everyone's help with my 6mt swap.
  16. I am still having problems with my NSS and reverse switch. What did you guys do to get the two to work on your Legacy? We wired teh 6MT switches in, worked for two tries in reverse, then stopped. So we pull the tranny and put in the siwtches from the 5MT...same thing. Any ideas?
  17. Car is finally done:) Thanks to all the people that made the swap a weekend project. A few notes - Buy new axle seals even if you dont think you need them. Make sure you have the right ones. The part that connects the shift linkage to the stub coming out of the tranny cost $55 from the dealer and is a PITA to get ahold of one locally. The auto driveshaft works but you have to switch the part that connects to the diff in the rear. It will make sense when you see it. That is all I can think of for now. I will add to this if I think of anything else.
  18. Thanks HD. We just rewired the NSS on the 6mt to work with the Legacy harness. We would of had it doen this weekend but noticed one of the rear axles seals being torn and no one having on in stock that was open. Got the seals today so it should be ready this afternoon:)
  19. I agree and why it hasnt is beyond me. Just a FYI - Rear Axle Seals for R180 rear end = 806732200 Whoever started this thread, maybe you could edit your first post with some part numbers? I have posted a few in the last few months.
  20. Does the Legacy use a speed sensor in the transmission like 6MT uses? If so, will it be able to transfer over to the 6mt? Thanks in advance.
  21. THanks for the info. I already have Brembos on my car and still ahve that muchy feeling when I first apply the brakes. I will report back when I get everything in.
  22. Ok, well I just got a booster, pedal assembly, clutch slave and MBC for $65. It will be a few weeks before I have time to put it on though. I think changing the booster and MBC should do the trick
  23. Oh, I thought you said you had gotten a STi booster as well? I am tempted to buy a STi booster to see if it will bolt in. If the booster will bolt in you will be golden. I dont think you will screw anything up. It will either fit or not fit. It is all about having the time to do it all.
