  1. Thank you for the comments and support. Those side strakes are really tough to find used. I lived and work in Japan and I think in over 8 years I've seen those pop up only about 2 times on the used market. I'm not sure why but they just don't turn up used often.
  2. really great to know you have that info. Thank you and I may have to email you when it comes time to tune. If my tuner hits a roadblock we will troubleshoot with you.
  3. I also wanted to try out the JDM STI EJ Engine sports oil filter. From what I read the oil filter uses superior filtration and also higher pressure relief which in turn enables the filter to withstand higher temperatures. Bought 5 of them. STI described it further "Also capture carbon, pitch spacer net prevents damage to the filter paper deformation during high pressure. Also to high viscosity oil." Part Number - ST152084S000
  4. Some may say I wasted money, but I prefer the JDM Legacy specific STI short throw shifter. It's not just a shorter shifter arm like many of the aftermarket STS products. It's the whole assembly with different bushings compared to the stock one. This piece is found standard on the Tuned By STI version 6MT Legacy. Part Number - ST3501021020
  5. Good point. Will definitely consider it when I speak with the tuner about the motor set up and options.
  6. My mechanic was familiar with the nature of the EJ20Y and ultimately used the JDM ECU however due to certain aspects of the 05 vs JDM 07 difference we ended up re-pinning certain parts of the ecu to make the engine work properly. Yea here in CA it's even worse cause pump is 91 and I think that might cause issues but I'll get an open source tune using 91 octane and hopefully @yimisport will be able to make it work properly.
  7. China is so good at making knockoffs. Who knows the quality of it. Although I've found that every aftermarket JDM Fender product or bumper is made from FRP so I don't know how to comment on the quality of JDM aftermarket body parts either. I guess it comes down to the production process? Who knows possibly DAMD, FUKUOKA EMOTION, and K2 also outsource their production to China?
  8. Spoke with Elite Collision Center today and I've been told the car is completely apart ready for paint next week. There was a little delay as they had other cars they had to get finished before they could start on mine. Additionally some minor body work - cleaning up dents, removing some door dings, and other minor repairs before they prime it. It's gonna be another couple weeks before I can see the finished product. The wait time is killing me but it will be worth it. These guys are some of the best in terms of attention to detail and quality.
  9. Is your car suffering from the melted dash recall? I've heard that subaru was doing a replacement on dash assemblies due to melting or humidity issues ruining the material?
  10. can't wait to show you the finished product. Man the suspense is killing me from the body shop.
  11. Scored a really hard part to find. It's no longer in production. Thank you @thisisthenewsic for selling yours to me! Legacy STI Defi 3 gauge performance pack Part Number - H5010AG000
  12. You have no idea how impatient I'm getting! The body shop is backed up with other cars so though mine has been diassembled, the priming hasn't even started yet. Plus there are door dents, dings, and other minor body parts that need a little repair. So it looks as though I won't have the car back till about mid June. I estimate completion which includes tuning the car won't be till about end of June.
  13. I honestly have not had much time in them yet to answer that. I wold imagine yes you are correct cause the driver side in Japan is RHD and the seat would have the lumbar support and possibly height adjustment. I'll chime in more when I actually get the car back and do a full review.
  14. The seats were installed without issue. The seat adjustment levers are on the outside in the correct position when you install them the right way. You simply use the JDM Driver as the passenger and the JDM passenger as the USDM driver side.
  15. We swapped over the position sensor from the drivers side and applied it to the JDM passenger side. The seats work perfectly.
  16. Correct. The seats have been installed and they work perfectly. Had to transfer over the entire weight detection system from the passenger side and the SRS ECU was re-calibrated. Adan at AQ MOTORSPORTS did all the work and the seats operate without any issues.
  17. After examining the sunroof controls of the 05 LGT Wagon, I realized they are different than the Sedan sunroof controls. The Wagon utilizes one button that issues 4 commands. Open, Close, Tilt, Close. The Sedan controls are separate. (1) button for tilt and close and (1) button for open and close. This creates an issue for finding an OEM Black sunroof control console as it doesn't exist since JDM Tuned By STI Legacy didn't come with sunroof. Then I discovered that the 2011+ STI has Black Sunroof controls! Here is the Legacy Wagon Sunroof control Here is the Legacy Sedan Sunroof Control Here is the 2011 STI Black Sunroof Control It appears that in the Sedan version, the number of wires for communicating the operation of the sunroof is the same as the Wagon. Since the shape of the BLACK STI controls is the same as the LEGACY SEDAN and the size is the same as the LEGACY WAGON. I have asked ADAN - AQ MOTORSPORTS to examine the wiring diagram and to see if a swap is possible. Yes I will still have to paint the Passenger airbag indicator black but that is the least of my worries. If the controls can be swapped and rewired, it will make a nice addition to have the all black interior look of the Tuned By STI Legacy Wagon.
  18. Thank you Madrig for hooking me up with the left over headliner material. I will be sending this to the body shop where their upholstery professional will perform the work.
  19. NO USDM GRILL is compatible with a JDM BUMPER unless you cut, drill new holes. or modify it in some way. Save your self the headache of having a hacked up grill and just get a JDM Grill. There so many options to choose when you have the JDM Bumper on. Just IMHO.
  20. Hey if you can text me pictures of it on your outback I'd appreciate it. Or post it. That would be awesome.
  21. Was not a rip off. Pricing was fair. It was the shipping that can cost alot. But it's worth it in my opinion.
