  1. Thanks for the reply. The car is driven daily. I called Sony (Amp maker). The amp should be wired so that it only gets power when the key is on or in the acc position. If the amp was wired where the line was constantly hot then the amp would be on all the time and the battery would go dead every night. My mechanic has done the multimeter path with no luck on finding the draw. Gary
  2. 2010 LGT mt. 155k miles. Starting about 2 yrs ago the battery goes dead over nite. Only happens every 2-3 months. No lights left on, key is completely turned off. My mechanic has checked it out after I charged the battery and I even had it towed to his garage with out charging the battery. He was not able to determine what circuit had stayed on. The battery is fine (I had replaced it when the problem had first occurred). There is a Sony aftermarket amplifier installed but it is wired so that it only gets power when the key is on. The car has an STI trans and I love it. I do not want to get rid of it but the dead battery issue is a PIA. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  3. I never heard of any body making and offering these for sale. That is why I had my shop custom fabricate them. I do have a brand new Subaru oem short throw shifter kit, brand new, for sale. I was going to install this before I did the STI trans swap. It would have improved the shifting I am told. It is part number C1010VA001. $250 shipped to the continental US. I am in Osprey, FL. v a001
  4. Doesn't work. This is the same kit that I got from Subaru. The enclosed short bolt is about 1/2" shorter than the oem bolt that came on the car in 2010. The old one has fit multiple proper group size batteries in the car. The new short bolt only fits batteries that are the exact height of whatever brand battery Subaru uses as oem.
  5. Tried to replace the oem battery hold down bolts (rusty). Subaru oem long one is fine. The new short one is about 1/4-1/2" shorter than the original. The new one is not long enough to clear the hold down bar so the nut can go on. Checked with the dealer and he opened other pkgs. All the same. He did say that the pkg number had been superseded in the past. The new short bolt would fit the Subaru battery which is about 1/2" shorter than my n Interstate. The old bolt fits fine. Tried an after market brand and the "bend" on the end would not go into the hole in the fender and the bend was too long. Does anyone have a recommendation? This is the only rusty thing on the car and I would like to change it. Wire brushing the bolt would leave it uncoated to begin rusting again. Thanks.
  6. I wound up putting in H11 bulbs. Much brighter. Very happy.
  7. Car had no rust, garaged, babied. Even had the "skid plate below the turbo" replaced as it had an area of rust". The shocks were great but had some spots of corrosion so I put new shocks on. Car is in immaculate condition. Only uses about 1/2 qt of synthetic oil in 5k. Anything that was worn or wearing out was replaced. The car is more like new than used. Multiple driving, convenience and reliability mods. The STI trans change makes the car awsome. Glad you got $15,500. That sounds fair. I was going to get a Genesis G70 3.3 and add a Burger ECU and Burger intake. Car only comes as an automatic. At this point I will drive the Lgt. I fully expect to get near 300k miles out of it, based on Subaru history and how the car has held up. At this point the car is exactly as I want. Even has a tow hitch so I can use my bicycle carrier as needed. I was ready for an auto but I will continue with the 6 spd sti trans. That was the only major fault with the car. The oem trans sxxxed.
  8. Thanks. I will be keeping the car since it will not bring anywhere near what I have invested in it.
  9. Since this car is a "wild card" I am testing the waters as to value.
  10. The Best. Top Dead Center in Bradenton, FL. They tuned my car and custom installed an STI 6 spd. Can I say more? NO problems. They know what they are doing.
  11. Thinking about getting a new car. I am 72. I enjoy and use the car but I do not abuse it. I have a 2010 LGT LTD MT. Silver gray with black interior. Almost pristine condition. 144,000 miles. Shiny, no rust (I live in FL). Has an STI 6 spd, custom installation. About 392 brake hp. Dyno tuned and maintained by Top Dead Center Motorsports in Bradenton, FL. Borla exhaust, larger tmic, oil catch can, synthetic motor oil every 5k and filter, garaged, recent coil packs, recent shocks, Nu Finish wax (top rated for 1x yr waxing by Consumer Reports) and detailed yrly. recent Goodyear G Max tires, recent Southbend clutch, recent front control arms, stock turbo (2nd one), upgraded stereo (Sony) amp and speakers, Sirius xm module added, Bluetooth, LED (upgraded lumens) headlights, LED (upgraded lumens) fogs, recent valve covers resealed, Home Link garage opener. There were less than 2,000 of these cars made from 2010-2012. The only short coming of the car was the oem 6 spd mt. The STI trans is GREAT! TDC did an unbelievable job in fabricating mounts & sourcing associated pieces to create my "sleeper" STI. As the car is so unique that is why I am asking club members for their opinion of it's value. Thanks.
  12. Any recommendations for which brand to use? The charts show the 7440 for the front and 992 7440A for the rear. Thanks
