  1. Still looking for a Subaru experienced tuner in the Sarasota, FL area.

  2. TDC is out of business. Cannot find a performance tuner who is familiar and works on Subaru's. Any recommendations? Thanks.
  3. I have a GT. Thanks for the response. My Borla is a full exhaust. My problem is that my tuner went out of business and I have not been able, to date, to find a well vetted tuner who is experienced with Subaru's.
  4. I have a Borla exhaust. If headers make a difference (how much hp or torque) then what brand-Borla, AEM or? Will I need a new tune? Thanks
  5. 2010 Legacy GT, Ltd. Tuning and mods done by TDC (Top Dead Center) who unfortunately have gone out of business. Car is at about 385 brake hp. I want to add a cold air intake (this requires a new tune). Any recommended tuners in my area? Also is there a consensus on what is the best cold air intake? Thanks
  6. Thanks for the reply. The 385 hp is accurate. TDC stated that in their experience 400 hp was the limit to keep reliability, assuming you did not "beat the xxxx out of the car". Above 400 hp and you will light the fuse on eventual premature engine failure. I drive the car rationally and stay out of the turbo (3,000 rpm) for the most part, only "stepping on it" occasionally. The car is a shear joy to drive. TDC installed the STI 6mt and did a great job. What a difference from the oem 6mt. The oem 6mt was like driving a slow shifting truck transmission. The STI 6 mt is about 10,000 percent better. Not a Porsche but very very nice.
  7. Car is in pristine condition. It is my baby and daily driver. 164k miles. No rust. Car has been in FL since 2018. Synthetic oil changed every 5k with top quality filter. Grey metallic with black interior. No rips or tears & no leaks. A/c is ice cold. Everything works perfectly. New General G-Max RS tires. Struts replaced about 3 years ago. New stock turbo at about 115k. Engine tuned by TDC (about 385 hp) and the following add ons: 2015 STI 6mt, Borla catback, larger top mount intercooler, brighter led's for headlights and fogs, ACT clutch (4 months ago), battery about 1 yr old, valve cover gaskets about 2.5 yrs old. Stereo upgraded to Sony components and speakers. Sounds almost as good as my top level home stereo. Sirius radio integrated into the oem radio (factory). Rear view back up camera. I am going to be 75 in October. I enjoy the car and do not abuse it.
  8. I think I have been taken advantage of on the labor charge. I just wanted to gather info.
  9. I have about 390 bhp. I have two recommendations to continue using Southbend. My only complaint is lifespan.
  10. The dyno generated whp. I used a calculation to arrive at bhp.
  11. 2010 Legacy GT, Ltd. About 390 brake hp. Presently running a Southbend clutch. Intermittent slippage. Only about 40k on the clutch. What performance clutch, with reasonable pedal pressure, is recommended. The car is not driven hard. No "red line" take offs. Thanks
  12. Thanks. How far over 200k have you seen? Any idea as to what wears out?
  13. I just read that a Subie only has a life expectancy of about 150-200k miles. I had thought 300k was a reasonable possibility. I change my oil and filter @ 5k with synthetic and a quality filter. The car is meticulously maintained. I even changed the oem 6mt to an STI 6mt. The car is modified to about 390 hp (sae net) and I do not "beat" on it, just enjoy it. Are there any other opinions out there on life expectancy?
  14. My great shop, TDC, has closed. I have a2010 Legacy GT, Ltd that has been modified to about 390 hp. Any other great shops in the area or reasonable driving distance. Thanks. My email is gbg1672@gmail.com
  15. I have a 2010 Legacy GT, Ltd. My local mod shop is gone. TDC (Top Dead Center) was a great shop. Unfortunately they closed and the principals went in other directions. Any recommendations for another highly qualified and ethical mod shop near me would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Color is listed as "off black"-looks grey. The cushions (the part where your butt sits) have small cuts, probably from a parking attendant with a 30 lb key ring on his belt. The repairs don't match. The oem part numbers (leather, power seats) are left 64140aj05avh, right 64140aj04avh. All that I can find now are the superceded part left 64140aj05bvh and right 64140aj04bvh. The super ceded new part is for the 2012-14 lgt. From the photos on the dealer sites the patterning is different. Does anyone know if the color is the same? I can live with different pattern since I am changing both front left and right cushions. I would love to have oem 2010 versions or great used ones. I keep my car in pristine condition. Thanks.
  17. Both the drivers and passenger seat cushions (that part that your butt sits on) have repaired cuts. The seats are power, both sides, leather and the color is listed as "off black". The original part numbers are left 64140aj05avh, right 64140aj04avh. They are super ceded by 64140aj05bvh & 64140aj05bvh. The super cede numbers are for the 2012-2014 legacy. Is the color the same? From the pictures the patterning is different. I can live with the different pattern but a different color would not be good. If any one has any suggestions for an exact replacement then I am all ears. I figured any used ones would probably not be in great condition. Mine have two small cuts. Probably from a parking attendant with a 10 lb ring of keys. I keep my car in pristine condition. Thanks.
  18. I just ordered a Priority Start unit. That should solve the problem as it is next to impossible to pin down where the draw is coming from. I never heard of a unit like the Priority Start. Thanks so much for the information.
