  1. Finished modifying Invidia downpipe to fit around the 5eat. I had to chop off one of my sections and redo it once I put the car back on the ground and only had 3.5" of ground clearance. I added two spacers with a captive nut near the bellmouth for a heat shield at some point in the future. Took off the mid section and mufflers together since the bolts were rusted together. I had to cut them apart, but it wasn't so bad since I had like 1/4" of space between them, where the gasket used to be. They rusted away? I'll be welding an extra plate onto the flange of both the mufflers and midpipe after I grind, weld (fill), grind and get something that resembles a flat flange.
  2. Test fitted the Invidia downpipe.... It appears it is for manual only car. I guess I will be doing some modification. I already cut off the mounting bracket, but it still hits the back of the 5eat. A 3" section grafted into the middle of the front straight should move that bend far enough back to clear. My stock mid-pipe is already hacked, so I need to do some welding on that anyway. I also have a 3" flex pipe I could weld in there which might make it fit.
  3. Found an Invidia catless downpipe for cheap on FB Marketplace, so I stopped working on my scrap metal one. Received my Amazon 1L catchcans. They have some baffling, but I will try to add another pipe with a bend on the inside of the fittings. Picked up an Autometer boost gauge for $10 off FB Marketplace. Ordered some Cooper RS3-G1 tires for the Enkei wheels I picked up off FB awhile ago.
  4. Started welding up my downpipe. While under the car I noticed my passenger motor mount is blown. Picked up a pair of new oem WRX mounts/plates off FB marketplace for $40. I will probably fill up the sides with some urethane to stiffen them up a bit. While still under the car I noticed the rear gaskets at the muffler joints have disintegrated and will need to be replaced. Also noticed that I'm missing the passenger side undertray rock shield. Anyone know if Outbacks have these? Junk yards rarely get Legacy's here, but outbacks roll through frequently.
  5. Pulled it out of my carport that is 1 foot wider then the car and finally gave it a proper clean on the inside. I bought it, and it hasn't moved from the carport since. It's now in the garage and I can start work on my scrap metal 3" downpipe. Pulled these out of the trunk. I hope I can fit them under 17's. The black calipers are 2 piston Brembo's off a Merc SUV. They need a 1/4" spacer in the middle to make the throat wide enough for Legacy GT rear rotors, and an adapter to mount them. Probably easier to do the mod's then to find STi rear brembo's in Canada. These calipers were all $14 each at the junkyard.
  6. Received some parts in the mail. STi master cylinder and brake booster. They look in decent condition without the flash. I guess I'll hit this with some paint before I install.
  7. Finished up one of my TGV deletes. I might smooth out the bottom a bit more if I pick up some smaller flap discs. These TGV's are off a WRX, so they are top feed. I'm going to pickup top feed injectors and fuel rail out of a newer STi, so I can install everything quicker. I think the Legacy intake manifold will bolt up to these? If not, I'll be doing another set of deletes. I am toying with the idea of flaring the OEM fuel rail, so I can use braided lines and get rid of that mess of rubber hose and clamps. Ordered an STi brake master cylinder.
  8. Bonded threaded aluminum plugs into my TGV deletes with JBWeld. Picked up an oil cooler for the 5eat.
  9. Started grinding down the welds on my homemade 3" downpipe flange made from the factory 2 1/4 flange. Welded nuts onto three stripped studs on JDM STi uppipe and replaced the studs.
  10. Picked up a catless up pipe off an '02 STi Cut off the 2.25" pipe that was left on my downpipe flange, and started hacking a bellmouth opening into the flange for a 3" downpipe.
  11. Picked up another 17Z 6-piston Brembo off a Touareg at PickNPull. Now I have have set for the Legacy. Not bad for $14 each. Also ordered a Tactrix openport cable.
  12. Put my ozonator in the wagon to help clean out the PO's cigarette smell. Much better after a couple hours.
