  1. The stock stereo is trash, absolute trash, my 05 Prius blows it away and it has push to start and keyless unlock extera.

My Prius is in every was more luxurious, better seats, better radio, hid lights, smart key, ac works better,

For a try at a luxury sports sedan Subarus fit and finish is dismal compared to the same year Prius.

Where the legacy really shines is WRX speed and fun without looking like a F*ck boy.

Basically it's whole attraction for me

  2. Seems like you really liked the car, if you have access to unsecured loan , you could get block replaced at a shop and have a payment less than a common car payment and a shorter term.

You then would have a solid base to start with.

The sad reality of used cars , especially these days is no matter what you buy there is just no telling how long it will last.

  3. Hi Joe, let’s try to coordinate some time when you’re working on your car. I say this because I have a 340 pump to put in my car and I would’ve liked to be there for the process.

I know you are planning on doing JDM headlights. If you would like to see what JDM HID headlights look like installed with Shields flipped I could bring my legacy by for you to check out. Have a great day!

  4. AEM 340 Fuel pump went in today.

Got a few questions and a few tips.

    TIPS:

1.Approach the Clips that hold the pump into the housings from the top.

Use anything small , little screwdrivers extera, a little gravity and downward pressure wile opening up the clips and mine fell right out. It was miserable trying to do it from the side.

    2. Put the car in test mode , remove the middle fuel line , hook a legnth of tubing and run it to can and pump it near empty by turning the car on, the pump will cycle on and off in test mode.

    Questions.

1.Should I be worried how yellow this pump housing is ?

2.The o ring below in the picture with the arrows was kind of hard and a bit warped wen I removed it.

Kind perplexed here possibly the pump was replace before.

What is this part of the pump assembly for and should I be worried.

I lubed and reinstalled the original o ring but I'm kinda concerned.

    Thanks

Edit: forgot to specify what I ring and fitting in the pump , it's one on the left

  5. Yeah the vac leak was the stock top mount, and in the previous post the gasket was referring to the oring that was giving me troubles with my power steering. I plan to go with an fp green/meth injection quite some time down the line after I’ve saved to get some forged internals. I just want something to tame my power fit until then. Is there anyway to temporarily repair the top mount?
JB weld and metal straps have been used and offered in " bullet proof" kits to Jeep this from happening.

Honest could probably just buy a used one for less.

There is some very cheap perin knock off top mounts on the bay for like 200.

600 is a deal for a front mount, it seems like you have other reasons for that choice as well and get that, I just hated dealing with front mount, the cx racing piping has some issues check out the reviews. I also like the look of the top mount so it's a no brainer for me.

I saw a grim speed go for 650 used on here not long ago.

I'm not one to tell people that to do but other than the looks you should be able to end up with a higher quality top mount and less money than with a front

  6. Wile are on this topic I have a question.

In the procces of upgrading turbo, I was going to pull the banjo bolt filter as everyone suggests it.

Now I'm wondering if I really want to do that on a car with 170k, after all this talk of trapped metal shavings.

I don't drive it much , will check oil often .

Has anyone added a different style serviceable filter instead ?

To make things worse I did get that awful cam sensor code shortly after I got the car.

My mechanic did the recommended OEM Subaru engine flush kit and oil change, code went away and never came back

  7. I think most people here will say a front mount is not worth it for something like a vf52.

My current build a 16g and went with a TMIC and for what I spent I could have got the cts front mount.

After my last build a 1.8t Audi with a front set up I was happy to be able to get by without all that charge piping.

    It's just a hassle.

  8. Hi Joe,

I want to be there when you wire this up. I have JDM headlights already and did the cutoff flip. That part was easy, kinda. The wiring can be had from one of the members here on LGT and was worth it. Plug and play was simple.

I want to add the switch as well. If you get a lead on another source let me know.

For sure, I am going to just buy that harness mentioned, I want to keep wring car side stock.

The price of all the connectors and stuff to make a harness is more trouble than savings.

Will be a wile before I get to it, still need lights and have a ton of other work to do before my tune appointment

  9. Hey guys I have a 36inch Vinyl cutter I recently hooked back up to make some stickers for coworkers at UPS to celebrate making it threw Christmas season.

I have been enjoying doing to graphic design and weeding and laying out stuff.

Would anyone be interested in a Legacy GT forums sticker.

Any ideas on design , or any want to make one and I can convert to a cut file.

Also if anyone want any kind of custom sticker made I'll will make you whatever you want if you cover postage.

I currently have two very large rolls of black and white gloss vinyl.

  10. Wow that's super trick, I never saw your old ones either.

I'm trying so hard to be modest on my build but my inner " because race car" keeps coming out lol.

I want to check out your car in spring when you bring it back out.

I saw a silver gt sedan in town this week any idea who's that is ?

I'm thinking about starting a AWD car club in Bend, wish there was more legacy's in town, it seems like a more grown up crowd. Either way would be fun even if half the people at the meets are WRX driving , vaping, Fu*kboys.

  11. Now your doing it right, I have radium everything front to back. Have custom fuel lines also. Nice job.
Lol ya fueling is literally costing me more than the turbo , down and up pipes , intake, turbo inlet and the access port combined.

Kinda wishing I got the radium rails and could use the rail mounted damper but I got a deal on the ID adapter rails and 1050's

I'm honestly tempted to just order the radium rails there stuff is incredible, but would need new dampers at this point

  12. Intakes won't do anything other than make noise on these cars.

That being said I'll be running a K&N. Why? because I want to make pssh noises and I'm not crazy about the blitz induction cover the previous owner put in it.

You will need a tune with any intake on the market that isn't OEM. Yes even the SPT.

Is there any other reason lol, I'm sorry but turbo cars that don't go pssh are just missing something

  13. They fit alright, but the harness is gonna need some modification. The DEPO replicas are much easier if you just don't want amber.
Cool thank you I will look up the harness conversion.

I may just go with the depo's but , used headlights fit my builds theme and there is something cool to me about having someones custom lights that where ran in JAPAN , it's like ultra JDM lol
