  1. Does this update address satellite radio unavailable sometimes after start up? Regular radio and Bluetooth works but XM won’t work sometimes, seems to happen more often after I make a quick stop and are only out of the car for a few minutes.
  2. I have been thinking about the same thing, it takes so long to start the car through the app, I could easily do it faster with the key fob. I believe they intentionally did this to get you to pay for Starlink. My dealer gave me 3 years for free at time of purchase but I will not renew once it expires as I see no value in it.
  3. Anyone install the Thule bike rack with the factory crossbars, how easy is it to secure the bikes? I want to haul 2, possibly 3 bikes on the roof and I feel like a trunk mounted carrier would risk paint damage. But over $500 to put bikes on the roof, I don't know if I would use it enough to justify that much money. Any thoughts appreciated.
  4. Carvana offered me $32,000, Vroom finally got back to me and offered $32,500. Carvana was the only one that asked how much I owed, which is about $31,600 so I could walk away with a little less than a grand on a 21 XT Touring with 4k miles. It's tempting but the challenge would be finding a suitable replacement, and I believe the days of 0% financing is over.
  5. Yeah, I thought for sure I would have to pay the title fee and possibly the temporary tag fee but they refunded 100% of my money. I did not actually transfer the title to my name. I just took all the paperwork they sent me in the mail back with me when I turned in the car. I had put down $6k in cash and it took about a week to get the check in mail, whole process was very easy. I think you have to return the car within 30 days and 1500 mile limit.
  6. I know all about CarMax, when I sold my pickup my original plan was to buy a beater truck, but everyone wanted$10k for rusted out heaps with 200k miles. I then decided to just get a cheap reliable car, after spending a couple of weekends looking at CL and Marketplace cars I got frustrated and just bought an 13 Accord from CarMax. Paid way too much for it, ended up taking a loan on it which I was trying to avoid. Drove it for 3 weeks and decided if I was going to have a payment, I should be paying on a new car that I actually like. Took the Accord back and got all my money back, even got refunded for the battery I had to replace the 1st week I had it. Bought the Legacy for $5k off sticker with 0% interest for 5 years.
  7. Maybe it's market specific, I have had CarMax appraise a couple of vehicles, none recently, and they were always ridiculously low. What area of the country are you in?
  8. I tried the online quote through CarMax for my 21 and it said I have to bring it in. Carvana wanted me to make an account so they could get back to me. Vroom is the only one that said I would get an online quote but it would be by email next day, haven't heard back yet. I am really just curious, if I could get what I payed for the car I may consider getting a pickup. This car is really nice, but I miss my pickup I sold due to the insane truck values and my wife said I would regret it and as usual she is right.
  9. Finally got the procedure right for turning off the driver seat belt alarm. I couldn't believe how annoying that sound was!
  10. Just regular for me, if it doesn't call for it I don't see any reason to use premium. Averaging 29.5 mpg over 3500 miles.
  11. Over the last 20 years I have had CarMax appraise 3 vehicles for me and all 3 times they came back with ridiculously low offers. I don't know, maybe they don't like my taste in cars, but for the dealership to come in 3k less than them seems very weak. My dealer offered me $4100 off sticker before I even stepped into the showroom, granted they did have about 10 .Touring models in stock Since they are only taking 2k off sticker makes me think they are really not very motivated to sell that car. Maybe things may change by Wednesday, but I don't see them coming down that much. Maybe they already hit their monthly goal since a lot of people are buying cars right now with their stimulus money and tax returns. I have also heard talk of a semi-conductor shortage causing manufacturing problems for new cars. I would suggest checking out a different dealer and maybe getting your trade appraised at some other dealers to get a better idea of what it's worth.
  12. I would wait until Wednesday, the last day of the month and then tell them which car you want and exactly how much you are willing to pay for it. They will probably be looking to make their monthly sales goal and may be willing to take a small loss in order to make their goal. Make sure you do your research on how much your trade is worth, put in the exact specs on your trade into Auto trader and see what other dealers are asking for your car. Obviously they won't give you the same amount but make sure they are in the ballpark with some room for them to make some profit on your trade. Also research any accessories, service plans, and extended warranties you may be interested in. If they won't come down to meet what your willing to pay maybe they can throw in these extras to help sweeten the deal, but if you don't know what the going rate is for them it can be very hard to tell if they are actually giving you a better deal. I am a firm believer in getting the exact vehicle you want, even if you have to stretch your budget, within reason of course. I believe if you buy less car than you actually wanted you may end up trading up sooner than you wanted, which could end up costing you more in the long run. Post which model you are looking at and how much they are willing to come down. I just bought a Touring XT for 5k off MSRP at the end of last month. I didn't have a trade so that kept the negotiation pretty simple, having a trade complicates it considerably, and gives the dealer more room to make profit. I am pretty happy with my Legacy except for I feel it's pretty sluggish off the line with the CVT. But I only have 500 miles on it and am babying it while it breaks in. I also had to turn off the lane keep assist as my commute to work is mostly poor back roads and I got tired of it beeping at me everytime I swerve to avoid a pot hole, rough road or animal carcass. Now I have a yellow light on the dash to remind me I turned it off which I hate. My wife's Ford Edge has a button on the turn signal stalk that turns it on and off which I think is a much better way to do it, and no annoying yellow light. I will turn it back on whenever I take it on the interstate, hopefully I can do that while in motion. Good luck and let us know how it works out.
