MRLancaster
Tossed around ideas of what a "Future 5th Gen Blitzen" would look like, and ended up with this in the end... http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k115/T-Ho_man/blitzenredwheelsblack_zpsc54a8520.jpg And for those who don't know what a Blitzen is, it's a Legacy that Porsche Design Group helped design. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k115/T-Ho_man/105940_00mg_zpsd42426b6.jpg http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k115/T-Ho_man/bloodtype_zps64186969.jpg

pleaidestar
That's a blitzen spoiler, I have seen a 3rd gen blitzen once in my town, I tried to catch up to it to see the trim bit he figured I was tryang to race and proceeded to burn me on the freeway...I couldn't catch up his car was really quick. Gire
What year is the white car with the unique spoiler? Kind of like that. That's a 2000-2004 Legacy in North America. I really like the red wagon of the same year too.
pleaidestar
Yeah that one I saw was really nice and clean silver and everything was blacked out, I had just gotten into a Subaru when I saw that one...all giddy and dumb about trying to see it hauling ass on the freeway. Never saw it again.
kc sly
So I take it Blitzen was just a special trim?
SubieDriver
Here's some info on the Blitzen on this Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Legacy_(third_generation) I didn't realize Subaru worked with Porsche Design... "The Blitzen model was the result of a collaboration with Porsche Design, and featured many unique parts and paint schemes. The wheels, body kit, and interior were all designed by Porsche Design. It also featured an implementation of the Porsche Tiptronic automatic gearbox, the first use of sequential-shifting on a production Subaru model." SubieDriver
If we're such a large market for Subaru, why don't we get any specialty models? It would be awesome if we could get something. S20x or S40x models, Blitzen, TS models, etc. Anything would be welcome.

S20x or S40x models, Blitzen, TS models, etc. Anything would be welcome. It may be a large market but with horrible sales margins. Not much money is made on selling the cars - it's the aftermarket that makes the money, and it's hard to make much difference in the aftermarket costs depending on which model you purchase. SubieDriver
Good point. I suppose, with all the sales records SOA is setting, and with the concerns about meeting demand, they could easily boost prices a bit to temper demand and increase margins at the same time. Instead, it looks like they're aiming for bigger market share.
