gear_monkey
I'm wondering what the best way is to get the best pull from: 1) a stop 2) rolling low speed 3) 55mph or faster I know for sure that when I "punch it" the rpm jumps and the torque isn't very impressive. Usually when I want to impress a passenger, I brake and then launch from about 2000 rpm. Any tips from the pros would be nice.

lee07
That's all you can do other than doing more mods to make it pull harder/faster

bermo
Try 3rd gear at about 3k to redline. If that doesn't make you smile you need a bigger turbo.
ragman
shift from auto mode into manual... but, we might need for you to define "best pull", are you talking for pulling a log? or for stomping on bmws?
gear_monkey
Stomping beemers. To be more clear....I'm very happy with the power I currently have. I just doubt my technique is letting me make the most of it.
KoukiS14
Also try brake boosting at speeds for roll races. Gets the 5EAT further up on the converter's 3500 RPM stall speed. With enough torque around there, you can do 3500 RPM launches. Don't try it without a set of bronze diff bushings.

chimera
5EAT non tiptronic I'm assuming? Whatever you do, drive to get more exhaust gas to spool the turbo then gun it, eg half throttle to get moving first then boot it, rather than from zero to hero (straight to wot doesn't always give the best power IMO)
gear_monkey
Hmm, non tiptronic..you mean when I'm in pure auto mode right?
