yaya's smooth bh

Usdm 1999-2002 legacy wagon=bh5. Usdm 2003-2004 legacy wagon=bh9. So if yaya has an 01 it is a bh5 just for the record.

 

Where in the world did you read that? That is in no way correct.

 

A BH5 is a 3rd gen Legacy wagon with an EJ20 in it. There was no Legacy ever sold in the US market that came with an EJ20.

 

All USDM 3rd Gen Legacy Wagons would be either a BH9 (EJ25) or BHE (EZ30). This code comes from the first three characters of the "Applied Model" on the VIN plate.

That is not the code. The VIN plate is on the drivers side strut pillar. Below the VIN is the "Applied Model".

 

The VIN changes meaning depending on year, where on Subaru's, the Applied Model is universal across all markets.

 

This is mine, I have a BEE as mine is a Sedan (BE) and has the EZ30 engine.

If you were to look at a Japanese VIN plate where they use a vastly different VIN configuration, you can see that the Applied Model still uses the same standard:

The "Legacy" badge on the rear has two pins on the back. That is the only badge that would leave holes.

 

Hmm... It says Legacy 3x on the rear. I was hoping to remove at least one of them....

 

Crzy how those wheels take that from a L wagon to an EL Wagon :lol:

 

dude that factory head unit setup with disc + cassette is tight! dont change it!! NIce rides all of them!

 

Factory headunit is already removed! Soon this will be my only subie.

This cluster won't be going on the car... picked up a black faced meter since this and it should be here soon.

Hopefully u ordered the correct BFM as they do change between 4 and 6 cyl and MT/AT

 

Pretty sure I got the right one, if not, they are actually pretty cheap from Japan.

 

Are those mirrors off the BG?? Those are sick

 

They are from BE/BH.

Since that is not a BFM.. The pinouts in my thread do not apply. I never bothered to work out the non-BFM cluster as I did not think anyone would go through the hassle of converting a USDM car to a cluster that is exactly the same except for being in km/h.

 

EDIT: I did not see at the bottom that you said that cluster was not for the car.. So never mind, however what I said still is true.. The wiring is different.

 

Do you know what the part number is of the cluster you have on the way? I can likely tell you what type it is.

Yea I kno from be/BH but it does matter what I said above :/ rktenicki has ordered like a boat load of these and showed me the diff. I own one for the 4cyl AT and he has one for the 6cyl AT also he has the tommy kAira one too which is pretty sick

It is likely a 85015AE040 then. That is the most common MT D-type cluster.

 

As for my thread on here, I am about to replace the original post with some updated information. I have neglected the thread on LGT and it is quite out of date now.

 

Since you are in CT, you are probably going to want to put in an adapter to make it show miles instead of kilometers, and get the cluster reprogrammed to show your current mileage. Otherwise you will have to answer odometer tampering questions during your next emissions test.
