kongzilla
Welds are not bad if they were done professionally. And the welds looks pretty good but its a little hard to tell. Good turn out on the wheel color choice and you got yourself a killer deal. I would of bought them. In one of the pictures, the wheel lip was sticking out pass the fender but that will be no problem once it actually settles and tucks in a little bit. The wheel will sit pretty flush with the fenders.

O.C.D.
More people would have chimed in if they were Rotas Right, a true JDM wheel that is no longer made and completely perfect for a 2005 Subaru!!! I thought maybe 7 people would have been interested. Welds are not bad if they were done professionally. And the welds looks pretty good but its a little hard to tell. In one of the pictures, the wheel lip was sticking out pass the fender but that will be no problem once it actually settles and tucks in a little bit. The wheel will sit pretty flush with the fenders. Had a tire shop check for issues. All beads are 100% true, even the welded one. Only issue is a slight dip when rotating and you can see it while looking at the face. The bead lip though is fine and has no dip at all. They are 100% flush, lol. I am hoping they tuck a little. 225's should be no issue I am hoping. If not I get to learn how to roll fenders. Thank you - I too feel that I got a killer deal Looks good OCD! Can't wait to see these installed. Thank you Sir! My real issue is the weight. I am scared as the rotating mass of these will more than likely kill some power. Anyone have thoughts on this? As I said, these are about 50 pounds per wheel/tire combo.
O.C.D.
What do you all think about adding some repro stickers as well? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Legacy%20GT/Decal_zps732b4f19.jpg And I am thinking about flushing up the center caps and not going with the originals. Thinking of painting these the wheel color and having flush caps?
BAC5.2
And I asked my neighbors Japanese wife, who was hanging with her Japanese friends, how to say it. Go-Gee-jenn is the proper way and they laughed cause it means "5th dimension, Go". They said it was jibberish, lol. 5 in Japanese is pronounced "Go", so I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean "5th dimension, Go". I'm 99% certain you pronounce the name as "Go See-Jin". And that would translate to "5 Dimensions", not 5th dimension. As for the weld, I wouldn't worry too much about it. "Go" is the Japanese word for 5, and in some applications, "itsutsu" "ZiGEN" should be pronounced IIRC Jee-Gen - hard J, soft G 5ZiGEN pronounced in Japanese, should sound like: GoJeeGen But, without the original Kanji that the name is based on, 5 dimensions or, more likely 5th dimension works. - Pro amore Dei et patriam et populum -

O.C.D.
My biggest concern for this new setup is weight. These wheels are heavy at 22lbs each. But after searching this is what I have learned: Current setup - 215/45/17 Bridgestone Grids and OEM wheels = 45.5 lbs. New setup - 225/40/18 Kumho Ecsta SPT's and GN+ wheels = 46.00 lbs. I guess I am thinking this will be a huge difference but apparently they will not be. Either way I am mounting them tomorrow and throwin them on the car. O.C.D.
Well, despite the weather I decided to have the wheels and tires mounted this last Saturday. I was worried as heck cause I could not find a touchless mount in town. So off to Firestone I went. Believe it or not there was not a chip in the paint!!! I was so happy until I got them home and decided to chip one pretty badly. So I get to fix a wheel now but I really don't care. So, for under $800 I have a bad@$$ set of wheels and my LGT is looking so much better. Full lock has no rub and I got a bit of stretch. Didn't want any stretch but too late now. No vibrations at all until about 90 and it is very minimal. So I think the weld is not an issue. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Legacy%20GT/photo2_zpse3178e64.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Legacy%20GT/photo3_zps45db1d51.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Legacy%20GT/photo4_zpsff4093c1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Legacy%20GT/photo1_zps34c5b255.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Legacy%20GT/photo3_zps59a19ad9.jpg The center caps I got are just old and trashed. I was scouring the web and could not find any new ones. But this has worked out. Some guy on a Scion site was literally throwing away his FN01R-C center caps which are (I think) machined aluminum rings and carbon fiber. Paid him $20 to ship and I have some new center caps. I think they will look great cause I am keeping the stock acorns now. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Legacy%20GT/photo1_zps2d274998.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Legacy%20GT/photo2_zps066fb763.jpg What do you all think of the end result? O.C.D.
Bravo sir, BRAVO. Cool, thanks! 225 is a little narrow for 8.5" wheels but non the less, they look great on your car. I swear I tried for a 235 or 245 but everyone I asked and talked to said 225 was perfect. I should have gone with my gut. I wanted a tad bit if stretch but a 235 would have been a perfect squared shoulder. Oh well next go around of tires I guess.

JmP6889928
Wheels look great. Very nice job on the refinish and nice write up. We weld up wheels for our dirt late models all the time rather than buy a new Weld wheel (about $450 a copy) and after they've been repaired 3-4 times, THEN we worry about it and buy a new one. With 850 hp + and always going sideways on the dirt, one thing I can guarantee is that we hit the corners harder and spin them harder than you could ever do...LOL Love the color, BTW. O.C.D.
Got the center caps last week and they did not fit. Needed an additional 1mm of width to snug up. So I wrapped them with .5 mm wire and then taped them up. I almost had to hammer them in. So far they are still very snug. Overall I am completely happy now that I kept chrome lugs. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Legacy%20GT/photo2_zps64080efb.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Legacy%20GT/photo1_zpse7f7ff1a.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Legacy%20GT/photo3_zpsf055b4d0.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v316/bluej/Legacy%20GT/photo4_zps56825395.jpg And I finished my grill!!!
