Jp2627
Temp gauge never moves but here in Massachusetts it's 20 degrees today and I see heat pouring out from the hood scoop area when I'm idling and I've only driven 15 min. The car drives fine and has all of its power but I'm just worried about it. I'm trying to learn about this car, i love it and put tons of miles on it. Should this be a concern to me? Especially since its freezing cold outside. Is there something I should have checked? Thanks
bluesuby
Do you see "heat" or steam?Check the seams on the radiator....could be a slow weep or leak which would not affect the operating temperature. Are you losing coolant level in the reservoir tank?
Jp2627
Thanks guys. It's def not steam it's just heat that you can see coming up from the hood. I will check the few ideas that u suggested and let you know.
bomberlegacy
My total uneducated opinion..it sounds normal. 180+ degrees under the hood, you should see some radiating heat when its cold out. AkumaMax
If you are not smelling anything Sweet from the car then everything should be as normal.
