Earthworm
I liked the looks of all the others who had done this on this forum, so I ordered the primer, base, and clear coats from PaintScratch.com that matched my RBP, masked the grill, and painted away... Couple of chips came off when I was de-masking, 'cause I'm impatient and careless - when will I learn? Not too noticeable, though. Guess I'll have to touch them up later. http://premium1.uploadit.org/yevans//painted-front-grille-1.JPG http://premium1.uploadit.org/yevans//painted-front-grille-2.JPG

rc0032
That looks great I almost like it better than a mesh style grill. Did you put an L7 badge on the rear? I can’t figure out how to take the only one off without removing the trim ring
Earthworm
Yes, L7's on both front and rear... The front was easy since I had the grille off for painting. The rear was a little harder having to squat behind the car and line up the emblem. Whaich trim ring are you talking about? On the sticker? Is it coming off when you peel off the protective cover layer?

Earthworm
I still got the discount, even though I think it was supposed to be offered for a limited time only - I think if you still use the link he has in his thread, it will ring up at the cheaper price!!! AKLGT
that looks great! i want to do something different with my grill too, but was thinking of getting rid of all the "chrome" peices. it reminds me of my folks' impala. what primer, paint, and clear did you order? and do you have a link for the site?? Earthworm
All I did was go to http://www.paintscratch.com and plug in my year, make, model, and color, and they will present you with a bunch of choices - touch up bottles, spray cans (which is what I got), buckets, anything you want... Primer, base coat, clear coat, what am I - a commercial for these guys?!?! I should get a commision!!!
C_low78
how much did you order to get the job done? and did you do spray can or?
starlabs
Great job! I really like that grill... Gives it a "wing" type of look. Very aeronautical -=- Livin life at 140 BPM -=-
Earthworm
how much did you order to get the job done? and did you do spray can or? I ordered a 12 oz. spray can of each (primer, base coat, clearcoat). I masked the grille everywhere except the trim and sprayed on about five coats of each. I would guess there's enough paint in those cans to do this about three or four times...
TSiWRX
Earthworm, Thanks again for the JINSU-POWER "stacked-ovals" film tip. I have just ordered a set with "clear" middle (i.e. reverse-light) section. This was just what I was looking for in trying to tone down the chrom-age of my rear section. Sincerely appreciated. -A <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family
