How did I not come across this sooner?! This is an amazing build.

I like how raw the car is! It's made specifically for kicking ass!

I dunno man. I've been following you on IG for months. The other day you ruined the 850r for me by educating me on their lack of a rear diff lol.

You will end up loving the Grabbers. Amazing Legacy you have!

I do like the grabbers a lot but they're so big they rub on the frame in multiple places in the front. Hopefully this will help that a little ;-)

I do plan on going with 15"s and rally tires soon though because they are a little lighter and have a smaller diameter which equates to better throttle response/acceleration and more torque

Nice :) when you running next

March 16/17

hey man this is an awesome build. makes me wanna get into this bad. one thing that caught my eye is the Hoosier right or left rear in the pic of your seats for a sprint car. you race?

That's at my storage unit which I share with a few other guys. Those tires belong to a guy that has a street legal champ car and a world of outlaws car

Naw he's an older fellow and just races singles mainly in Fresno. His name is Patrick long. You may have heard of his nephew though. his nephew is also Patrick long but he races for flying lizards which is the Porsche factory American lemans team

Oh boy. Its been much too long since I've updated this thread. I don't know anything about southwest rally x but dirtimpreza.com or the scca website is a good place to start. The car has undergone some major changes. I'll post everything when I get a chance. Here's a crash course on suspension and tires if you want to run rally x. Stock 04 Sti struts and springs, group n top hats, remove front sway bar, leave rear sway bar stock. That's it. As for tires, I ran the grabbers for one more event, then went to Sti suspension and the grabbers rubbed really bad so I went to snows, popped two in one day and immediately went to gravel rally tires. At this point I wouldn't recommend anything but rally tires.

And here's a preview of the rest of 2013:

After winning a the CRS Rallycross championship in in rally 4wd class in 2013 this car is making its debut as an open lite class stage rally car this year.

WOW man incredible build! I saw your post in this Suspension FAQ thread about the challenges of putting Outback struts/spring on a Legacy GT, and when I looked up your profile I found this! So the photos above... is that a Ground Control coilover conversion? I saw a gently used Ground Control kit for sale on one of the forums, and it looks like the set you have pictured here - strut housings not included.

I am looking to lower our GT wagon a little bit (to ~1" under stock height) but I don't want to slam it any more than that. In fact, I'd like to bring it up to stock height or even a little higher (~0.5") for winter mode. I'm thinking a Ground Control conversion kit, but that won't get me any higher than stock in winter mode. Someone said to me that instead of coilovers, I should just swap to Outback struts/springs for winter. However, your detailed description explains that this is not so straightforward. Now I am trying to find out if a Ground Control coilover conversion would work with Outback or Forester strut housings; my theory is that I can drop to the summer/low setup or raise to the winter/high setup without changing out the struts. But, I may have to do this with stock Legacy Wagon strut housings and lift spacers.

Those are complete Proflex Clubman coilovers. They actually lifted the car a little bit. The issue with Ground Control conversion to ob or forester struts is that when you have it lowered you'll basically be riding the bump stops and your ride quality will suffer. You will also be outside of the struts optimal travel so they will go bad faster.
