Yeah I kinda did too but considering I was originally looking for a sedan when I found the wagon, it all works out in the end. I have a truck as well so don't really NEED a wagon per say, Nd finding another like the one I had wasn't likely. Also my girl likes sedans much better lol

yeah you can't exactly get a girls attention with wagons most of the time... because grocery getter haha

So I got the new bumper today

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/04/30/sydavaja.jpg

Better shape overall than the other one especially since no wreck.

Pulled the fogs out and realized why they aren't working:

Apparently the tab is snapped off on top and they the drivers side one is now liquid cooled:

New part from the dealer is $275.84. Fml!!!! Who are they kidding with that gouge and a half!?!?

At any rate bumper came off extremely easily:

Soooo... Anyone have or know where to get a drivers side fog assembly??? I need one bad! Add it to the list I guess lol

Good looking car!

I definitely recommend the Jazzy mod if you aren't planning on doing anything else with the radio. If you plan on upgrading the radio go with something else. I have done a lot of work in that department on mine if you have any questions.

Thanks a bunch man!

How hard of an install if the jazzy mod? He lives in AZ too so maybe I could get him to just do it for me lol.

I had many a huge system back in the day.... I currently have a JL10W7 in a JL stealth box with a 1600w monoblock Sony xplod to run it sitting in my garage from my old accord and then my WRX. I took it out when I realized how much faster the WRX was without it lol. I guess I can officially call my self old, because I always said I would never have a car with a stock stereo and I actually think the stock leggy system and the stock puny woofer under my seat sounds amazing! Maybe it's because my work truck has one working speaker that's stock and the WRX stock system is borderline worthless, but it really sounds good. That's why I was thinking jazzy and call it a day. My local stereo shop tried convincing me to go with a deck and a metra brand dash kit? I do like the Idea of Bluetooth music and Nav through the deck, but is that really that important to change the stock dash?! I need to do some more research and see what it looks like in a car.

On another note, something is off with the tune, tuner said he's never seen it before, so that no makey me happy. The car burps and lurches between 2-3k when decelerating in any gear. We drove it around and he changed some stuff and we got it to mostly smooth out but you can still sort of feel it wanting to do it. As a result of what he adjusted, now the car over revs when you lift off and even does it in neutral. So basically if you let up when driving the car actually accelerates 2-300rpm before it goes back down. :(

I'm waiting to hear from the shop about what to do next.

Any suggestions?

Well whatever climate controls you have is what will really limit you with any install in this car. Mine has the auto controls which are integrated into the same unit as the radio so I can't simply pull out the radio and put in a dash kit, but if you have manual controls you're good to do that. But if you're happy with the system, no need to swap, mine didn't have the upgraded system and I've always had systems in my cars so I was itching to upgrade. If you're happy just go with the Jazzy, its pretty sweet. I got the one with the ipod charger too so that's nice to always have a charged ipod.

Does this not work?

I'm guessing for $15 it can't possibly look that good in the car right? The stereo shop said they could still wire the factory sub into the new deck and it would probably sound better even? I'm not sure and the jazzy mod seams so much cleaner and easier!

That works fine you have manual AC controls. If you have the automatic AC system, the controls and radio are on the same circuit board, and options are much more expensive and limited.

If your dials and such will fit into that then you have the manual controls. Mine has an LCD screen and only 2 dials rather than your three. I don't think your radio/AC is all in the same unit and since there is an aftermarket dash kit I would be willing to bet that will work for ya. As far as the looks go, its up to you but those kits usually are pretty close and heck you could even paint it if you want.

You will always be better off with how a car sounds by upgrading your radio. You will gain a lot of features and control and even with stock speakers you ought to get more out of it. If I could easily upgrade, the head unit is the first thing I would do in my car, but unfortunately I don't really have that option. But the Jazzy mod is pretty clean if that's what you're looking for. I have mine coming up through the bottom of the center console and power is wired to the cigarette lighter.

I installed jazzy mod ASAP when I got my wagon. I love it. Really easy to install. Just have to take apart the stereo unit. I ran the aux cable under the shifter and dremmeled a hole into the center consol. It's nice because there is already a cut out where the kid meets the box for a cable to run through. Phone just sits in my cup holder paying music. For long road trips just stash it in the center consol.

Did a little engine detailing as well

Waiting on fund replenishment before proceeding further. Timing belt is at the top of the list followed by tires and then maybe get to some more fun stuff.

The whiteline anti lift kit is very race car lol it's super tight now and you can really feel the road. Can't wait till I get the rear bushings as well to firm that up too.

Still waiting on some fine tune adjustment to the tune hopefully next week.

And done (for now) lol

Got a new map from my tuner today to try and see if it fixes my issues. He is in atlanta this week for global time attack, so if it doesnt work we will road tune some more when they get back. Gonna download the Cobb program for my computer and load it up tonight, cross your fingers for me please!

  • 2 weeks later...

Made my car in forza 3:

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/05/20/u7agamu7.jpg

About double the horsepower and runs with S groups on te high speed rings around 200mph lol.

Also taking the real car in for timing belt and oil change on Tuesday. Got 4th out of 160 in a poker tourney on Friday for a $1000 so figured I better use it to do the Tbelt.

Wish it could have paid for suspension, but that's next tourney.

So I am contemplating suspension. I know there are threads out there but my shop is recommending BC coils with swift springs. Is this going to give me a good ride? More firm than stock but not bouncy and lower? Thinking I want about 1.5-2" drop and maintain ride quality. Which should be easy because my stock suspension is tired and feels like an old caddy.
